Portland would never do that. Trading two top 10 picks and a promising PF for an unrestricted FA and Gortat is horrible value. They can trade 1 pick for Gortat, sign Nash outright and still be under the cap. They can go over if they need to re-sign Batum.

I'd do the Den deal in a heartbeat - NcGee has impressed hell out of me, (as has Speights) and I think Chandler could be a monster here

Philly have near $60m committed to 8 players - if we were to take Elton Brand's $18m expiring off their books with our capspace, what level of compensation do you think we could get?

Remember that late first rounders are usually bought for about $3m, and to move Kurt Thomas' $8m we included 2 firsts. Could we get Evan Turner?

Nash, Telfair
Turner, Redd
Dudley, Childress
Brand, Morris
Gortat, Frye

Plus the 13th pick.

I think you guys are overrating Gortat. I also think the league has caught on to the Nash halo effect that Gortat clearly benefits from.

I'm open to trading him, don't get me wrong, I'm just not sure we're going to get a top 5 pick for him. If you can turn him into MKG or T. Robinson, I'm all for it though.

If we were to move him and come out of this draft somehow with K. Marshall-Mayo-Dudley-T.Robinson-Lopez I would be o.k. with it. It's another lottery team for sure, but I actually would like watching them grow. Bench of Bassy-Redd-Childress-Morris-Frye Or you could amnesty Childress and absorb someone like Boozer, Jefferson, or Millsap.

I don't think so, but you're on the right track as far as what I believe the FO is thinking. We might be able to pull a future 1st from them.

imo we should offer Javale McGee DeAndre Jordan's contract. Beats having RoLo(w) start.

Sign Anthony Randolph as well for the most boneheaded yet potential-laden frontcourt in NBA history.

Gery Woelfel: Kohl: "We want a real quality big man." In other words, someone like Andrew Bogut. via Twitter

Thats the Bucks beat writer. I think Gortat could fit the bill.

I'd offer them Gortat/Nash for Jennings/Sanders/Udoh/#11.

Nash/Udrih
Monte/?????
Dunleavy/Mbah a Moute
Ilyasova/Gooden
Gortat/Brockman

Jennings' agent surprised PG isn't immediate priority for Bucks
Sean Deveney Sporting News

BOSTON — After a year in which he averaged 19.1 points and 5.5 assists, third-year point guard Brandon Jennings might seem to be a pretty good candidate for a contract extension in Milwaukee—he is eligible for one this offseason.

But, according to Racine Journal-Times reporter Gery Woelfel, the team is not going to be in a hurry to lock up Jennings. On his Twitter feed, Woelfel quoted Bucks general manager John Hammond saying of a Jennings extension, “It’s not something we have to do.”

Jennings, on Twitter, retweeted the quote and added, “At least they made it clear.... I respect it!!!!”

Sporting News was able to catch up with Jennings’ agent, Bill Duffy, at the Celtics-Hawks playoff game here at TD Garden. Duffy said he had heard about Hammond’s comment. “I was surprised by it,” he said. “But I was mostly surprised because it was not something that we have sat down and talked about.”Duffy said it was likely that those discussions would start in the coming week.

If the Bucks opt not to give Jennings a long-term deal this offseason, he would be slated to become a restricted free agent in the summer of 2013. Hammond is right in that, even if the Bucks don’t sign Jennings right away, they will maintain his rights and can match any offer other teams can make.

There is some risk to that, though, depending on how this year’s free-agent market plays out. Nets point guard Deron Williams will be a free agent, and the Nets and Mavericks are expected to make a push for him. Suns point guard Steve Nash, too, will be a free agent. By the time this summer ends, there could be several teams—the Suns, Nets, Mavericks, Raptors, Hornets, Kings, Jazz—with cap space and a need for a point guard.

That could make the upcoming season important for Jennings. “Welp.... This will be one of my biggest years coming up!!! Then the Summer should be interesting!!!” the Bucks point guard posted to his Twitter account.

Nash is a free agent and he would never do a sign&trade with Milwaukee. I'm not a fan of Jennings, I don't see any difference between him and Brooks.

Jennings wants to play on a big market team....

I doubt he would re-sign here if we trade for him. His flashy game style and his expressive personality is most suited to a big market team such as New York, under the bright lights where he can shine/fail. He is the type of player that enjoy's playing in the NBA the most when he's got the Number One Play on the Top 10 for crossing over a guy and burying a three in his face.... With the large crowd going bananas. (At MSG for example)

do it - I like Sanders, watched a fair number of Bucks games this year. No way he's a bust -
with 11 an 13 we could do very well.

Amare is done. He missed several games this year with multiple injuries. The Knicks would amnesty him if they could. Our medical staff didn't didn't clear him. Move on from the past.

I'd still really like to see a gortat for smith and the hawks 2012 first rounder. Now I know everyone loves gortat, And he's great! he really is,

However, What babby has been saying really makes me start to wonder? "They will most likely match any offer for lopez"? Why would they potentially overpay for a second string center, when they have gortat? And They could just as easily acquire a cheap mid first rounder and get one of 3- 7 fters that in leonard/ zeller/or fab melo.(also even festus ezeli) could be had too cheaply on a rookie contract. (thus preserving more cap space for this offseason or next.)

To me this could very well mean that they are making gortat available, add to that, that they have also mentioned doing a lopsided deal where they could take back salary and then it almost confirms my suspicions!

To my knowledge, There are really just 2 trade scenarios that jump out at me the most (so far) those are the 76ers trade possabilities with elton brand and some pieces coming back to us?
Maybe brand and their pick(#15) get teague or wroten, and we ship them childress for our troubles(taking brand off their hands?).

And the suns and hawks trade scenarios centered around josh smith( he MUST!!! sign an extension with us though!). Now, For my part in order to get the best possible scenario for us, in wich we could still keep nash, and get back immediately in contention would be obviously the hawks trade.

I say this due to the strong belief I have that if planned judiciously and followed through to completion agressively, We could very well do a trade along the lines of this: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=7ywngns.

Now this is obviously the most basic scenario we could do! We get what we want! They get out of josh smiths' contract and even though they take back warrick to, (just put it in there to make the numbers work!)They still get a net savings of $ 2million dollars!

Add to that the fact that after they throw in their 2012 first rounder, and they save another 1-2 million or so! And the biggest part is they finally get a productive traditional center they been wanting in gortat!

Now it has been mentioned though(on the trade boards repeatedly) that any trade they would consider would have the other team taking back marvin williams $ 7 million contract too! In wich case I would adjust the trade to look like this. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=8yycn4l.

In this trade scenario, everybody gets what they want, We get smith,2012 first rounder, (have to take back williams 7 million though! :x )But still end up good as we send back out both channing fryes $ 6 million contract and warricks $4 million contract as well.

So after swapping out our top players AND crap contracts,We really get josh smith (with draft pick included) for around $ 5 million from our cap space! Not to bad for acquiring said marquee player! as well as an additional first rounder we can really use as well!

Finally, This is a GREAT!!! deal for the hawks as they even with taking back frye, gortat, and warrick, Still save an aproximate $4-5 million (after giving draft pick.)allowing them to avoid the luxury tax! as well as complete their dream of moving horford back to the 4 and getting the center they've wanted for sooo long..

And ultimately Our final steps to our plan will be to next agressively pursue ray allen first, Then Dwight Howard! We will share this plan with smith, allen, and howard as soon as reasonably permissible!

Knowing that dwight preferred to also play with his great friend in smith as well as nash! Not to mention adding ray allen to that mix would easily make us a finals contender! And our training staff could help all of them with their recent injury concerns too. This would have to really ev en trump the idea of playing with deron in jersey if you consider it.

point guard-nash/telfair.

2-guard-Ray allen/redd(resigned at minimum.

3-Small forward-Grant hill(IF he resigns at fair cost)or marvin williams(until we can somehow flip him!).

4- power forward-josh smith/markieff morris.

5-dwight howard/robin lopez.

Then with our 2 first rounders this year, we can either package them and move into the lottery to take a player not available at our pick, Or we could (if available) with our#13 pick- take austin rivers(to be trained by nash and ray allen)as our future backcourt star. .

And with the hawks pick we can take quincy miller (to replace fryes versatility and shooting (at 6'10)Who can also play at the shooting guard and small forward as well creating mismatches!.

To me, This would be the best possible outcome we could shoot for! Thoughts? :dontknow:

1. Josh Smith isn't bring shopped
2. We don't have the pieces to get him
3. T-Will is the GOAT (just thought I'd throw that in randomly)
