Durins Baynes wrote:Goodwin has shown nothing at this point to suggest he was drafted wrongly. Until he does, it should be assumed he is not good. Instead you guys seem to be doing the opposite, acting like a guy drafted #29 in a weak draft is a part of your future core. It's not sensible.

Yet he was being noticed by journalists during summer league and asking questions why he slipped so far.

And we already know that slipping down has motivated him to "fix" the negatives in his game and prove doubters wrong.. Mind you it's not lack of talent or ability that led him to slipped so far... It's his shooting, lack of vision etc...
And so far the suns staff are addressing these short comings... Archie is 19 years old and has a ton of upside and the motivation to do it.

Usually I'll agree that late draftees rarely pan out...

But motivated players with talent and young enough to adjust May just have the right ingredients to be decent.

"Noted by journalists"? You mean some Suns beat writers whose job each year is to hype up the teams young players? Come on, there was no meaningful talk about Goodwin this summer except to note that he had a pulse and "it'll be a while" before he's likely to show much of anything in an NBA game. Every late pick gives the same speech about how hard they'll try. I remember Beasley and Kendall saying much the same things. It never matters what they say, just what they do, and it's way too early to assume Goodwin can (or will) do much of anything beyond what other late 1st rounders do.

No journalists with a clue were asking why he slipped so low, on draft day the question was why he was picked so high. The day before the draft, Nbadraft.net had him at #47. http://www.nbadraft.net/2013mock_draft

Like I said- no journalist with a clue.

Every year there is no shortage of commentators hyping this or that college kid they watched and liked, but there's a reason this guy fell to #29. And most of those remarks aren't even meaningful. What does "a good one" even mean? And what should we infer from "a good first step"? A good first step to justifying his place as the 29th pick? Maybe, but he's done virtually nothing meaningful at this point.

Wait, no journalists "have a clue," but a poster on an Internet Forum does?

And you have no clue.
How much do you get paid to give assessments about NBA prospects?

The only thing that you get out it is getting into debates with suns fans here in the realgm forums.
Usually good trolls move on... You don't, you stay and posts here to get your daily injection of debate.
And you are yet to win one by the way...

There are so many other things to attack on the suns team that will make you walk away winning the debate but the topics or subjects you target have left you with no wins and several suns fans owning you repeatedly.

The off season must be so boring to you... That you don't mind debating and losing just to spend time.

Everyone, just ignore the troll and he will move on and spend his 29 posts per day on another board.

You confuse trolling with dissent. There are plenty of positive things you could choose to take from my posts and respond to (for instance, the fact that I think the Suns will get a great player out of next years lottery, and are doing the right thing with their current direction). Instead you insist on acting like an objective view of Goodwin is some kind of Sun hate, when in reality it's the view of the overwhelming majority of non-Suns fans. He was picked #29, didn't have a particularly notable summer league, and has yet to play a single NBA game. If you went to the PC board and asked how good Goodwin was, or whether he was a serious piece to build around, people would think you were kidding.

You don't even know if I am a Suns fan or not. I notice I'm not alone in my opinions either, unless the guy who liked my post named Burning Heart isn't a Suns fan. You mod the way you like, and I'll continue to post in the restrained, reasoned and objective manner I've done so during my time on this board.

Look, yes he doesnt share the viewpoints of many of us here, but he has been pretty reasonable in his arguements has he not? Although I dont agree with his opinion, I understand where he's coming from.

Im fine with people having opposing views! Thats what helps make a great discussion!

What i have an issue with is trolling.

Having opposing views is great and healthy for a board. Unfortunately, he was taking the wrong approach with his.

If youre referring to me, I'm not trying to call you out here man, just stating my opinion. Sorry if you felt that way. Not trying to "tell you how to do your job" or anything by questioning him being suspended.
Dont worry, how could we ever disrespect the mighty Kerrsed. ;)

I also have issues with people calling me out (as a mod) and telling me how to do my job.

There is a serious possibility Jabari Parker stays at Duke beyond next season: http://www.stack.com/2013/06/19/jabari-parker/

Too bad, he would be my pick right now if we miss out on Wiggins.

Parker is almost guaranteed to be a top 3 pick... He'd be silly to stay.
