All of our players are healthy and on board right now, training camp here we go!

I'm super stoked to start getting news about camp.
My baseball team is out of the playoffs and my football team sucks. Need something positive to go on.
Good to hear Len has been playing pickup games.
Forgot about IT but glad his wrist is coming along.

Welcome to my world (baseball team--Orioles are normally where your Yankees are...with about 20 less wins. At least your team is good more often than not.)

Now as Football goes, the Saints didn't just lose to arguably the worst team in the NFL...AT HOME, mind you...so yeah, I'm with you on the Football front as well.

Let's GO SUNS!!!

HA! I hear ya.
I'm more upset about the Saints because of high expectations. Fortunately despite being 1-3 there's still a chance at the division being 1 back. Hard to believe the team is capable of anything more than a lucky playoff appearance.

I am pulling for your O's though. I want them and KC in the ALCS and will pull for you if your team makes the World Series.

OK back on topic :)

Most of us already set the expectations to Kieff at around 8 and Marcus at around 4 or 5 so it's not a surprise. I'm OK with this.
Curious if there are any options involved.
If Warren has a good first couple of seasons, Tucker is def the odd man out, long term.

Anyone think they took a discount? Marcus I'd say no but Kieff I def think he did.

Love the early signing of the Morii. It does two things ... Suns focus is only on resigning Goran next year. More importantly we have a core group of players locked up for several years

5 years - Bledsoe/Kief/Marcus
4 years - Thomas/Warren/Ennis
3 years - Tucker/Len/Goodwin
2 years - Plumlee/Zoran
1 year - Dragic/Green

That is so unlike the GMs in the previous 10 years that reworked the roster every season. I think this front office finally has it figured out that you don't need to make a big splash every year in free agency. Let these guys coalesce into one of the premier Western conference teams ... and we have two first round picks to add next season.

Ok, so where does that leave us, as far as cap space, to resign goran next year?

These signings tell me tolliver is a sun for this year only since he only has one year guaranteed and tucker is gone within a year and a half. And green's days are numbered as well.

While is looks like a lot, Marcus will be making just under 2 mill more per year against the cap. Kieff is just under 5 more against the cap. Coro mentioned both will be 'escalating' as well so next season it will be less money which helps with signing Goran.

I do agree that Green is a goner along with Tolliver for next season. Tucker will play this season and if he continues to do well, he could be traded for some solid assets too. Continue to maintain flexibility.

Markieff is getting paid the same as Frye.

Loving this deal! Markieff at 4/32 is an absolute steal! I was bracing for 12m+ in RFA

Markieff would have got 10-12 mil in RFA. Marcus would have got 4-6 mil. Suns won out this deal.

Isaiah Thomas deal looks even better now.

Completely agree. Great. Fricken. Signing.

Listen, Markieff is going to increase his value exponentially as a starter this year. $8m will look like nothing, forgetting the increase in the salary cap. And Marcus is getting less than the MLE and will be a valuable bench player for another five years.

This is how you build a team!

Taj Gibson, per Coro's article, got 4 @ 38. So about 9.5 per year.
Taj may be the better player but it's not by much (based on last season).

Babby said they asked the twins how they wanted to divvy the money. I wonder what Kieff's true value was considered. I bet it would have been 9-10mil per also. They probably used Jodie Meeks' contract for comparison with Marcus and Taj for comparison with Kieff.

They have plenty of room to sign both Green and Dragic. Do not think Green's days are numbered at all.

I can spend ten hours talking about the problems we have right now. The defense is just a wreck though. No pressure on the QB, and our DBs can't cover at all. I knew after the first drive when Romo (of all people) was a perfect 8-8 while they did whatever they wanted in route to a quick TD that we were in deep ****.

The suns future

Bledsoe/IT/Ennis
Dragic/Goodwin/Dragic
Tucker/Warren/Morris
Morris/Morris
Plumlee/Len

Those are all guys locked up for the next few years ( except for Goran but we wont let him get away).

Plus the cap will raise with all these guys under contract and we can overspend on an allstar big man.....

IT at 6mil a year
Marcus at 5 per year
PJ at 5 per year
Markieff at 8 per year.

Lets hope it all works out, otherwise we'd be stuck with a whole bunch of Josh Childress contracts....

While possible, all 4 of these guys are/were younger than Chilly and have more talent/upside. Childress was always an OK defender who can't shoot. We're OK there.
Kieff would be my biggest worry as he still has to prove he can improve and be effective.

Someone here is going to look like a Childress contract, because there are just not enough minutes available for them all to earn their paycheck. I predict that we will end up trading someone in late December or early January just so as a favor to them so they can go to a place where they can play.

The advantage of that situation is that we get to keep who we want.
