Damn. That's horrible. I wonder if it was a freak thing or because he tore it before, it led to it happening again.

Pretty much everyone. Don't jinx Bledsoe's knees though. ;)

Absolute wildcard could be trading for Len for Noel (3-way deal).

Our FO loves the idea of bigs who can defend the perimeter, and recently Watson said he couldn't find time for 2 traditional 7 footers.

Doubt that happens. Would make McD look like a chump, when he could've drafted Noel instead of Len in the first place.

Pre Injury 2017 he was.

An ACL injury can happen to anyone... It takes one bad bump or landing.

Torn meniscus.... Now that cannot be replaced... If the damaged bit is in the inner portion... Brandon Roy like... And we know Bledsoe has had 2 meniscus repair injuries.

Never got to ask you guys but what is your opinion on our GM? do we have confidence in him going forward and making good picks/building a winning team?

Good at scouting talent... Mostly.

Good at winning trades...

But bad in putting a competitive team together.

For a rebuild... He is good. But he needs to start shifting to putting a winning team.

Dude, torn meniscus is like a broken nail compared to a torn ACL. Jabari's injury is waaaaaaay more serious than Bledsoe's.

Agreed completely. With meniscus injuries their are two options.....repair or remove. There are PLENTY of players who have gone repair or removal with success....

Westbrook - repair
Blake - portion removed
Wade - portion removed
Lin - repair
Bynum - a plethora of of knee injuries...impacted by knowingly PLAYING with a tear, and also TERRIBLE rehab practices....like BOWLING while rehabbing
CP3 - portion removed
Roy - removed. Roy has had 6 surgeries on his knees.....and all 4 of his menisci have been removed. His knees are the worst of the worst.
Arenas - Repair....too aggressively tries to return and reinjures. Repair....doesnt learn lesson and returns too early. Remove......Career
Rose - ACL tear first....and then meniscus tear. repaired

With Bledsoe, he was super young with his first and second tears. And repairing was the SMART option. As he ages though the chances of him having a tear trimmed instead of repaired increases. And when players like Griffin/Wade/CP3 elect to trim instead of repair, there is very little long term impact.

And along with that. In 2012 Blake had a LEFT meniscus removed.....which is unrelated to his RIGHT knee injury suffered this season.

The fact that this is Parker's 2nd ACL tear makes his injury SIGNIFICANTLY more impactful. Like i said, IF another tear happens with Bledsoe, he can easily have the torn portion removed and be recovered within a couple of weeks or less. You CANNOT remove a torn portion of the ACL.

The knee has 2x menisci each. Roy has had all 4 of them removed. Bledsoe has all 4. Comparing the two is impossible.

I have said a few times this season that I want another GM next season. McDonough has failed big time after four years.

We have only Booker, that is all. I do not know if he is even good at scouting because of Ennis (#18 wasted) and Len.
Look at Adams, Gobert, Dieng, Mason Plumlee and Noel...all of them are better than Len and were selected after him.

And what about Chriss and Bender? They can be great (hopefully), but they can be a serious bust too.

I see a bad play after a bad play from Chriss on the court and Bender has shown flashes but he has been a non factor at all as a rookie...and now he is out for the season with an ankle injury.

IMO we had the opportunity to grab Jamal Murray, who is arguably the best rookie after Embiid this year and is only 19, but we did not pick him probably because we had Knight at his position.

I do not want McDonough back.

I've mentioned it before but if we were to can McD, I'd worry that the next GM would be a 'yes man'. He'd make a really lopsided trade just to get butts in seats.
No GM makes all the right picks or trades, but the one thing ours hasn't done is ruin our future by trading for an aging star who doesn't fit. Given our drafting/pick trading track record over the lest decade prior to McDonough coming aboard, I'm ok with how he's done so far.

I have never been a fannypatter for McD as his entire book of work is currently what we have now. I think he has made more impactful bad moves than good, and is currently counting on his drafted potentials to offset the departed talent and mishmashed roster. His biggest bungle(s) may reside in the coaching selections.

However, I agree with Dhawk in the sense that the likely replacement would be yet another 'on the cheap' hire and we'd be subject to another learning curve. McDo-over is clearly remodeling his rebuild, but at least we can assume he has learned from his mistakes. But it doesn't change the fact that he cannot afford to hit his thumb with his hammer anymore.

The biggest blunders, to me, are trading for Knight AND trading Thomas.
I won't act like I wasn't Ok with dealing Thomas at the time, but it is questionable to make these trades when you already have IT who could have played alongside Bledsoe instead of trading him and then trading for Knight.
Given there was no salary jump yet, keeping a much cheaper Thomas seemed to make the most sense.

He was put in a tough spot with Dragic but I believe he panicked.
Those Miami picks will sway whether or not his run here is/was deemed a success along with this years pick.

Trading for knight is far and away the worst thing McD has done as a gm. That move has been an absolute disaster on all fronts.

IT is a little trickier. Of course in hindsight he should have got more for him in that Celtics trade. But if youre going to point at that as a negative then it only seems fair to point at getting him to sign that contract as a positive. That contract also proves that IT wasnt exactly sought after by the rest of the league. And lets say hypothetically they had kept IT, how many extra games would they have won last year? Id say like 5 tops and i dont see them as a playoff team with him this year either. And for as well as hes played offensively i still have some worries teams will pick the hell out of him on d in the playoffs.

Overall Im on the fence with mcd. Im not screaming for him to be fired but also wouldn't shed a tear if it happened.
