Rockets get stronger.

Wow, that's a nice deal for Tucker. The funny thing about the Rockets is, it seems like having one primary ball handler and a bunch of great three point shooters is what he would want, yet now they have two ball handlers, want to get rid of Anderson, who is a perfect fit there, and sign Tucker. He obviously helps their defense and intensity but they already lost two good 3 pt shooters in Beverley and Dekker, so it will be interesting if D'Antoni's coaching works. He needs the right personnel....if they fail he will be blamed again.

Harden is going to have to be ok with being a spot up shooter when Paul is out there..or vice versa...but at least Harden has sort of had to play that role in the past...I can't see Paul accepting it very well.

Morey chose D'Antoni and loves the guy. I expect that Mike and he have talked about the fit. If you cannot defend the perimeter you cannot win in the current NBA. It appears it was between Tucker and Shumpert. I would prefer Tucker. I think they should just keep Anderson but Morey is constantly putting together stuff no one can predict. The cancelled contract on Nene is a huge loss for them. For their sake they need to somehow work something out with Nene. His going down really hurt them against the Spurs. I think Morey's mistake was trading for Chris Paul, we will see.

I am so happy we were able to get Jackson he should be perfect in the current NBA. If he sucks, so be it. It was the correct pick and has the possibility of being a real game changer for us.

It appears that we are not going to offer Len or Williams anything, which is perfect IMO. If they get an offer we can live with, match it. Otherwise let them both walk and bring in some more youngsters to run the court and defend.

I'm kind of surprised Tucker didn't get a little more per year. But I guess getting that 4th year is big for him at his age. Good deal for both sides.

This is exactly why trading him even for the little return was the right move. It gave the suns a look at jones and him some good developmental minutes. And more importantly with how the draft unfolded there was NO way the suns would/should have given tucker this contract. It also let him play some playoff games for the first time ever. Good deal for everyone involved. Who knows maybe the suns strike gold with one of those 2nds, and if not no loss.

Bledsoe/Booker/Dudley/LBJ/Chandler. Good role players/defenders around LBJ. We could also pick up some other players via trade and/or signing. LBJs wife gets to Scottsdale/PV and is only an hour from Burbank or John Wayne via his private jet.

why? he exceeded his expectations in his first year, screwed up his second year, made a honorable strikeout by trying to tool around a player that never signed here, ergo the 'real' rebuild started 3 years late. People need to be patient, teams need to be consistent, especially considering the low likelihood of dethroning the Warriors-Cavs dynasty over the next 4-5 years. a proper rebuild takes 3-4 years, at least, so McD should get a 2-3 year extension.

I'm kind of in the middle on McD. Some good and some bad so far. It does appear they actually have a plan finally so thats good but you need to execute the plan. I wouldn't base his extension on wins and losses this year but the guys he's drafted need to grow and look good. You won't hit on every draft pick but at this point McDs had enough swings at the draft that he needs some good hits. And thats why I like the total go young approach they seem to be rolling with because we need to see these guys play to figure out what they have and if McD and Watson are the right guys to drive this train.

My guess is around 40M range, but hopefully it's around Tucker/Felicio money.

Im sure he can get better on the free market. We are lowballing him and will end up losing him, but i think the FO is ok with him leaving and put this "offer" out there to make it look like to the fans that we made an effort to keep our fan favorite player.

I disagree

I think it's looking good

Added "free agents" Chriss, Bender, Jackson and Ulis in the last 13 months. To me that's a nice haul. No pressing need for true free agents yet. Barbosa, Duds and Chandler are the kind of vets you want on your roster as mentors.

If they don't blatantly tank last year, it's 32-34 wins in '17. If no moves are made from this point, I believe .500 is very much an attainable record. One quality (mid-level) FA signing or a good trade (bledsoe+ package) and well up into the "forties" isn't crazy talk IMO....with "kids" mostly driving it.

Yeah, I disagree

I know this won't be a popular opinion but I hope williams finds more money elsewhere. I'm simply not im favor of paying any role player past 2018.

You can find another Williams.

Bledsoe will be up for quite the bump when it's his turn.

With the Suns under the cap, can Eric's contract be extended right now? I've heard it can..and it can't be. Westbrook last year kind of thing?

I'm still on the "We should probably cash in/move on from Bledsoe" train (yikes that's a long name)...But! Since Ulis emerged as a legit NBA playmaker, who can easily provide 18-20 minutes of solid PG duty, and the drafting of Jackson with his likely playmaking prowess (eventually) ...I'm at least considering a switch of tracks..er? Trains. Open to a long term EB run. And especially if they could hammer out a good for both parties extension now or relatively soon.

There's also Bender's potential as a playmaker that would help convert me. God! I hope he gets a consistent 15 to 20 minutes early on.

Bledsoe is eligible for renegotiation and extension after Sepember 24th (third anniversary after his contract was signed). We can add up to 3 additional years to his current contract.

The rules for contract extension and renegotiation are explained in Larry Coon's CBA FAQ here and here.

+1

I really like the guy. It's a great story, and a local Phoenix one at that, but like you I'm a little uncomfortable "investing" too much in Big Sauce. A couple years at 5?

I know! "booo hissss"

$24M/4 years it is a nice and fair offer for Alan Williams.
I don't think he can get a lot more than that on the market, hopefully he signs with us in the next couple of days.
