hmmm #6 for Ball?

How does Ball compare to the possibly available PG prospects at around #6?

I'm not sure we'd win more games with Ball starting than Tyler. Pretty sure if Ball does well here, he'll want a max deal. Prefer to bring in a guy who can score as third guard with Booker and TJo. Injury history is the biggest thing for me.

I'm open to trading for Ball, but I don't think he's worth the #6 in a straight swap.

That's why I ask how he compares to the PG prospects. I'm not really in love with any of the PG's in this draft and all of them of their own glaring weaknesses.

Is he reliable at all?

Just watching quickly some of his tweets I found this one...
Read on Twitter

He got a few Dodgers things correct
Missed Ohtani to the Padres
Got Hosmer to SD
Missed Paul George to the Lakers
He was on Harper to the Phillies a long time

So better on baseball and probably better than Broussard or Kyler.

I just don't think that's the right comparison to make. This is a weak draft for PGs, but the free agent market is strong.

Randle a couple weeks ago mentioning us as a preferred destination and how this is great for our rep, how it points to recovering our respect that we have lost through these tough years. Let us not forget that Ball and his pops came out boldly this season and specifically basically requested the Suns to trade for him. He wanted no part of the Pels and requested publically he be routed to us. I think that counts for something. Im not saying he is or isnt worth the 6th pick or what it takes to get him but all this complete hate and acting like he would not be a HUGE upgrade and great peice is a farce. Kid pushes the ball like not many others. Kid plays with his head up, throws dimes and can get to the basked with the best of them. Kid plays really good defense and is very selfless. His shot isnt there yet but he is young much like Kidd early on he is a hard worker. He is dynamic like no one else that we have the chance of aquiring, I would love a Ball/ Book/ Oubre/ ****/ Ayton starting lineup at this point.

I like this take though. #6 for Ball (I am 100% in for this) yes he cant shoot right now, and y'all are worried about this. Give him some time. We don't need him to score 20 ppg. We need him to get about 12/10 assists and play good defense & rebound. Also get us Randle , he wants to be here. Oubre as well , keep him!!! Keep Jackson, TJ, and warren. Let's roll

Ball, TJ
Booker, Bridges, Jackson
Oubre, Warren, Jackson
Randle, Warren
Ayton, Bender for cheap or Dedmon

Let's run it !!! depth

Don't need him to score, but need defenders to respect shooting. Otherwise, they are just going to leave him open to double off him and it doesn't help Booker at all. Randle also has no range, so it clogs things for Ayton. This lineup isn't going to do much.

Seems weird the Lakers are trying to trade ball. Apparently Gentry really wants to pair Lonzo with Jrue

So where do you lean in terms of what to do with the draft pick? Take someone or draft-day trade?

Clarke or trade down... for Clarke. That Clarke + Dinwiddie scenario was pretty exciting.

I like Ball and Clarke but watching the finals this year if you can't shoot not sure you can play major minutes anymore or any minutes it's just such a liability now

Looks like we agreed to terms with Oubre. :o

Check the Suns facebook page. I'm kinda shocked they posted what they did. Seems a bit risky to me.

They posted a close photo of Oubre's face (only half of it) with the caption "#Shhh"

Everyone in the comments seems to agree this must mean we agreed to terms. Handshake deal.

My guess is 4 years and 60 mil.

That would be a good signing - have to see numbers

I just hope it's not too much of an overpay.

If it's 60/4 which would be $15m a year, I think it's a bit of an overpay but it's not a killer

Yeah 60/4 is kind of the maximum I anticipated. So I'm good with it.

One of TJ or JJ is gone, it's only a matter of time now. Maybe even both of them.

1. JJ and Bucks pick for Dinwiddie
2. Draft Culver
3. Restructure Tyler Johnson
4. Sign Julius Randle
5. Resign Oubre
6. Resign Holmes

Dinwiddie/Bumpy
Booker/Culver
Oubre/Bridges
TJ/Julius
Ayton/Holmes

Perfection.

Balance in positions and balance in age.

Yeah if it's 60/4, Warren is GONE, possibly JJ too.

12/14/16/18 would be ok. I think that is fair.
