I'm not sure about Houston because I do think once they get more into a rhythm, they are just gonna torch a bunch of teams behind MDA's offense and two ex-MVP's in Harden and Westbrook. I don't think they are as good as they were a couple of seasons ago when they had good wing depth but I still think they will be hard to beat because Harden and Westbrook are still a force. Portland, I have a little lower because Lillard and CJ is easier to slow down and if you can slow down one of them then you could overwhelm them with our depth.

Speaking of Houston, they are losing by 25 to Miami at the half. Bam not doing much and Winslow not even playing and they are still killing them.

They still have a lot to work out (and it's not a guarantee they'll work it out) but if they do, I think they will be hard to beat if you're not like a Denver with a ton of depth they can throw at WB/Harden

Houston feels like a high variance team where they can look great one night and horrid the next. I do think they are better than Phoenix though. I really question Portland especially with their utter lack of a front court but they seem to be better than I think they will be for like the past five years so maybe I just don't give them enough respect.

Houston kind of has the GSW problem with lack of depth. An injury could derail their season. The Westbrook trade seemed kind of desperate to me. Their defense is all but non-existent, not that it matters much to D’Antoni. Spurs are more of a sure thing.

Wow McD was SO bad at draft.

Josh Jackson is out of rotation.
Bender is out of rotation.
Chriss plays 14 mpg on terrible GSW team.
Len looks awful this season.
At least Warren had 2 very good games lately after a bad start of the season.

What a waste of picks.
He should lose his job much earlier if he didn't get lucky with Booker.

Plus taking Enis with a mid 1st and never hitting on any early 2nd round picks. Bogdan was a good pick but he traded him before he ever got here.

Then he had some terrible trades and FA signings. Bad coaching hires. Was horrible at understanding how a team fit together or how to treat players and I thought he sucked at dealing with the media.

Just an terrible track record, it's absurd he wasn't fired sooner.

He got super lucky with TJ and Book. I wanted him to be on the hot seat after the whole IT/Dragic/Knight trade debacle and somehow we stuck with him for another 4 seasons or something. But yeah, to think he somehow whiffed on this many high lotto picks is actually kind of impressive

I wonder what his resume looks like:

Overachieved in first year as GM, leading a team expected to win 17 to 48 wins, just short of playoff.
Drafted Booker, Ayton and Mikal Briges, the core of the team who turned it around the year after I departed.
Drafted TJ Warren who is an integral part of the succesful Pacers and Bogdan Bogdnavic, a key part of the Kings.

That's probably about it.

Wow, was wondering how the Grizz were beating the Wolves, so I pulled it up, and JJJ 0-5 from the field, but Brandon Clarke a perfect 7-7, perfect from the line (4-4), with 7 boards and a couple assists. Team high +25, likely largely from his elite defense as well.

I know guys may not like to hear about the guys we didn't draft, but he's looking pretty good.

I'd like to also acknowledge Ghost of Kleine for repeatedly mentioning Eric Paschal in our draft thread last year. He was certainly right about that guy....in a BIG way.

Watching the Jazz Sixers game, and the Sixers are settling for jumpers. The Mavs just lost the lead to the Magic.

Lots of good west teams against cheer tonight. Funny because last year we were cheering for the bad teams to lose.

Aaron Gordon with back to back offensive fouls. Refs had to blow the whistles on those they were obvious.

*And Dallas got lucky to hold the win. Missed FT's on Seth Curry to poor passing in the last minute. Magic just couldn't capitalize. Vucevic had a decent look on that 3 and missed it.

Every Suns board (not just realgm) had a consensus in wanting him in the draft.

I still have no idea why he was passed on, he fits this team perfectly.
