It's not that people are really negative...and I didn't expect these guys to break the rotation, but man reading Kolek with 14 ast and 0 turnovers and knowing we need a PG (it's great we got Monty but for now it's 1 year and we didn't know we'd get him during the draft).

I don't think Kolek will be awesome or would have made a huge difference, but I think he will be a solid PG who can control the floor, make others better, has a high IQ and will be able to shoot, even if he hasn't yet. Plus....even with that 4 guard rotation puddles listed, we know we will have injuries here and there as well.

Kolek is older, smarter than all of summer league. He is undersized, and wont mount to anything in the league. He is a 2nd , 3rd back up PG for his career. If we go after a PG we need to get Tyus Jones. He will get us to the next level.

Tyus Jones is not possible to get for us, if I remember right?

Why, we just need to convince him on a min contract he'll take us to the next level and get a max contract on his next deal ? Jones and Ishbia are the perfect persons for that.

Best half of the Summer League, we are dominating to the Bucks.

Wong has a nice touch and can score the ball. He reminds me of Jordan Clarkson, not as dynamic as Clarkson but you can get an idea about him.

Dunn with 6 points and 6 rebounds in the first half.

Oso with 10 rebounds and 5 assists in 20 minutes.

Good. I tempted fate with my way-too-early assessment. I deserve crow - but not nearly as much as Suns fans deserve a decent prospect (or two) on the roster.

I remember you said the same about Nash back in the day.

If Jones would go for the minimum, I'd take him. I would have preferred him to Monte Morris.

Morris has a good ast/to ratio but hasn't played too much recently. He fits in well, having only played 33 games last year, averaging 2.3 ast/1 to. His last full regular season he was at 5 ast/1 to ratio but usually is at around 4.5/1 for his career, still really good.

But he only shot 41% from 2. 38.6% from 3 which is good.

However, Tyus Jones averaged 7.3 ast/1 turnover last year, and averaged 5.5/1 for his career. Last year he shot 53.7% from 2 and 41.4% from 3.

So by those 3 measures he is better, and much healthier.

And I'm sure some may remember, when Ja Morant was out a couple years ago, they actually had a much better record with Jones, something like 18.2. He is a smart PG who takes care of the ball.

Maybe not KDoubleDees favorite, but that may not be a bad thing.

Nice of Oso and Dunn to show that they can rebound a bit today. I liked what I saw from Oso today, he has the potential to be a nice complimentary player.

I think Bridges has a place in the league for sure. Solid defense, a quick trigger from 3, and the ability to put the ball on the floor a bit will get you on the floor. He'll need to get a bit stronger though.

We drafted Josh Childress2.0 when we could have drafted Goran Dragic2.0

And kept Oso and Kolek together...

I know it's just SL but Kolek looks so comfortable and at least a few steps ahead of everyone else. Just the way he's comfortable using screens, then looks comfortable navigating the paint with a defender on his hip and making the right pass to the open man. Unlike some other PG's who come into the league and play with their head down, Kolek is a true PG whose head is always on a swivel looking to make the right play.

The guy is already looking like a guy at the end of his rookie contract already. Keen to see how he goes in the big league

God damn

From what I've seen so far he is already better than Collin Gillespie in terms of playmaking and setting the table up for others, that pass was Nash-like

The Dunn pick will come back to bite us....

Even if we liked him we could have picked BPA and then traded down for him because I don't think any other team had him as high as we did. This is like the Hali pick all over again where we had a clear need and the front office somehow got enamored with an inferior prospect and passed up several players that would have fit the team a lot better.

Yea, I would have loved Kolek... I always thought he would be a poor mans Nash or a very rich mans Ty Jerome. He is a bit quicker, stronger and much better player overall. He will make it in this league, I can see him have a good and long carreer, maybe like McConnel.
So we can chalk up another bad decision to the blackboard for JJ. If there is anymore place for that...

I have the same feelings, but I am willing to give Oso and Ryan a fair chance with proved NBA Players.

Kolek will never be starting caliber. Dude is a glorified 2nd / 3rd PG for his career. Yall fall in love with some average players.

Dunn, and OSO are horrible. I wish we would have drafted Isaiah Collier or traded the draft pick for someone that can help now (as thats when we need to win)

He needs to be more aggressive on offense. He needs to at least make himself a threat that needs to be defended. There were several times where he should have shouldered down and gone at the rim with single coverage and see if anything developed. He didn't even look at the basket several times he was dribbling near the paint.

You don’t know sh. If anything the fact that you don’t like him tells me he’s a better player than I think he is.

Dunn

Ah ok.

I agree but I think it's more about skills for him. He doesn't know how to do it, IMO it's not about a lack of aggression and more about a lack of skill about how to finish in traffic.

And he needs to improve his ball handling skills and improve his release from basically every shooting area.
