IMO, I dont think we need Deng this yr. He will be a top 1-2-or 3 FA on the auction table in the off season. Some team could come along and throw him a boatload, and we'd be out a pick.... for what ? If we want him, we can pony up in July w/o losing any assets.

Just saw MKG may be available (via WireTap). I feel like he'd be a solid fit in PHX, not sure his cost though. Bledsoe-Dragic-MKG is solid. Would be perfect if you guys landed Julius Randle in the lottery.

There's no way we are landing Randle.

IMO I think the suns are looking to make a move RIGHT NOW. I don't expect Love is going to be available at all until the last second next year kinda like that situation with howard in orlando.
Obviously we are looking for a big guy that can score, get some boards, stretch the floor and make the extra pass.
While he isn't kevin love he may come at a much cheaper price and give us the ability to keep our entire core together. I think that is one VERY important aspect going forward.
Right now we have an INSANELY deep and talented team that doesn't get enough credit..heck our two all stars aren't getting any credit. I have mentioned his name a few times in my posts already but the more I stew on it the more I think this guy is exactly what we are looking for.

Here is a comparison per 36 betwen Spencer Hawes and Kevin Love.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... nute::none

Obviously Hawes isnt as a prolific scorer or rebounder as Love is but he shoots a MUCH better % and blocks almost 2 shots a game compared to loves 1/2 block.

Another key bringing in a guy like Hawes is we are able to move Plumlee to the 4 spot where I believe he would take on a more POWER 4 role but can still get out and run the fast break. Since spencer can hit the 3 and mid range at a high % we are still running that "stretch 4" type of offense. Bringing in spencer also allows us to really mix and match the 4/5 spots depending on what we need out there with frye/morris.

Heres a video I found on youtube showcasing his passing skills.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaYcB7Mc9Wo

And heres a jack of all trades video showing his shooting, passing, back to the basket ect.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blwwRIlXtfI

Can you guys imagine how many more open shots our guards would get with a guy like spencer looking for cuts, pops and pulling the defense out of the paint?

Very interesting stats and research sunsbum.

Now how can we work this out?

I've always noticed Hawes has gotten good #s when he had good minutes. Seems like a worthy pickup if it doesn't cost much. Never knew his percentages were that good. 43% from 3? He sounds like a better version of Frye. It might be a little superfluous. There is probably a pretty good chance Asik ends up being traded for Hawes and maybe some of their other pieces moving as well.

McD reiterated today that any acquisition would be for longterm gain. Hawes is a nice fit but will be a FA.

Kerrsed wrote:Look, getting Love is next to impossible. You can try to come up with all the trades you want, but the thing is, we would have to beat LAC and their offer. Word is, they would totally offer Blake Griffin in a trade for Love. I dont blame them. And no amount of late 1st round picks and Len are going to top that. Blake is an all-star. He is one of the most exciting players in the league to watch. He will generate money for the Wolves by the butt-load. We can not compete with LAC, so its not even fees-able to try.

Best I can come up with but not as good as Blake:

Suns: Love, Barea, Brewer
Bobcats: Frye, Martin
Wolves: Okafore, Gordon, Len, DET 1st, MIN 1st, WAS 1st, LAL 1st (15)

What is different about this deal from others I've seen is the Wolves clear out 4 of their 7 most expensive long term contracts, about $27 million off the books next year. Also they have five 1st round picks in two stacked drafts. They will be horrible and plunge head first into tank-fest 2014 with their own pick (btw adding the rights to MIN pic lifts the restrictions on it for 15 and 16 if they choose to use it as an asset in a trade down the line). Still have Peck to move for more assets.

Cats get shooting they need. We get a star and still have a couple pics left over.

Just think tho the Wolves would rather be a 7-8 seed with Griffin over the next couple years rather than try to rebuild yet again.

Hawes would make a ton of sense if we didn't have Frye already.

The only thing Hawes and Frye have in common is they both shoot 3's and are tall. Their games are so vastly different after that its not even close.

I understand a lot of people want that big name "Kevin Love". Which If I had to choose between the two I would absolutely take Love over Hawes. But honestley how much of our assets are we willing to give up to get a guy not even in his prime yet thats sitting at 26/13 a game. Thats going to bring in a load of record proportions.

With all my heart I believe we are ONE solid player (center/pf) from being a good team for a very long time.

Love or Horford - I think those are the two we'd be monitoring 24/7 this season...Neither team is a lock to make the postseason, we have picks up the wazoo to help them both out and neither need a PG so they wouldn't be asking for Dragic or Bledsoe in return...

Use all 4 2014 picks, Plumlee, one of the twins and maybe some future picks to trade for Love and Asik ASAP and call it a day, imho.

You trade one of the twins you might as well give up both at this point. I think they are both playing their asses off so they can play together.

It's the lottery, anything can happen. Bulls had 1.7% chance in 2008, got #1, took Derrick Rose. Anything is possible, def don't bank on it... but it can happen.

Well, keep your fingers crossed for us Xmar... I have other items requiring my karmanistical powers.

Minn holds all the cards. They could deal Love now to us for a slew of picks and guarantee themselves a lotto pick as their diesel chugs on downward. They could keep Love, and still get their pick in the lotto if they blow this yr and miss the playoffs... Or they could make the playoffs, lose their pick... but then trade Love.

I don't think anything happens till the lotto balls drop.

There is.

But sadly we traded away the pick where he was selected, along with a certain guard.

He is good, but will he ever play in the NBA?

Nobody knows what he'll do in the NBA, but there are not words to describe how well he has been playing in Europe, both in the Euroleague and in the ACB.

Of course, you can't make a straight comparison to Love because his rebounding is insane, but a poor man's Dirk is not out of question. He is not just a stretch four, as he has an advanced post game, midrange, is deadly from the corner three, can put the ball on the floor, etc. Not an elite athlete by any means, tho.

I'd call the Bulls and say I'd take Boozer, Dunleavy and spend the resources needed to work a deal with a third team so the Bulls get under the l-tax this season (they'd need to cut around $8M), have cap space next one and get pieces for their future (the Morrii, Frye, picks, whatever not named Goran, Bledsoe and if possible, Plums and PJ) if it meant I could get Mirotic's rights.

Mirotic is dominating the EuroLeague right now.

http://www.chicagonow.com/bullsville/20 ... his-bitch/

Our upper management just traveled to Europe to meet with him. He is still under contract for one more year, but there's a 50/50 chance of a buyout being worked out. Bulls want him in Chicago next year, since it's been 3 years since he's been drafted he's no longer subject to the rookie scale. Most Bulls fans believe we'll offer him the full MLE.

Bulls won't trade him, they value him as the next Dirk. Unless, we're getting a superstar in return (i.e Kevin Love).
