If Melo gets sold on that meeting that would be hilarious. That team would look really good.
As far as Frye going to Miami. I think Frye is more of a Westcoast type of guy, but if the Heat brought back their entire roster and added Frye, they would be scary good. It's hard enough for teams to stay in front of Lebron but with Frye they'd have to leave their paint wide open. They'd be SSOL on steroids.

Gortat getting 5 years.

Gortat getting 5 years is not a surprise. Even for his age he has low mileage and is extremely durable.

well I mean, this is a league where Jodi Meeks is getting more than 6 mil a year and Childress is still getting paid.

I called this a while ago but I could see Pau fitting in so well with the Spurs. Gawd it would be such a nightmare for the league. Legit dynasty for another 4 years if that happened.

As well they should, that roster is terribly put together. Were it not for hitting the Jackpot with AD they would be in the worst position of any team in the league.

This just got shot down, but this writer brings up what about taking Nash and dumping Gordon in LA?

So wait this pretty conflicting....

Suns will be patient with LeBron James, Robert Sarver says

"I think this is going to be on his timeline more than any one else's," he said. "We've had conversations with his agent and we'll work within their time frame."

http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/n ... 05881b136b

Gambadoro: Suns will move on quickly if they don't hear from LeBron James

Time is a luxury that the Phoenix Suns do not have, especially when it comes to dealing with LeBron James says John Gambadoro.

"They'll wait 24 to 48 hours, and if they don't hear back they'll move on," Gambadoro told the Burns and Gambo show Monday afternoon on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. "They're not going to wait five days to maybe end up with nothing because other free agents are going to end up elsewhere."

???? Who do you believe? Isn't Gambo supposed to be the one that has all the inside sources with the Suns? Is Sarver just saying this as a smokescreen or something? It is liar's month...

I thought the GM of the Pelicans made it a point to go after guys who could cause mismatches at every position. I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere over the last year. Doubt they are trying to get rid of everyone, they are in a good position to improve yearly with their roster IMO.

What makes more sense? Waiting and letting FAs slip through ur fingers or moving on quickly after 24-48 hours? I go with moving on quickly.

Well my (probably incorrect) take is that they aren't conflicting. We will wait 24-48 hours to hear back. If there is no response, we move on. If, however, LeBron's agent says, "yeah, he's considering the Suns," we'll then work with his time-table.

I think the Sarver interview was more recent.
He probably talked to LeBron's agent and was told that James is legitimately interested and to hang on until they decide on Miami.

If you heard something like that, I don't doubt any owner would risk free agency for a shot at the best player in the world.

Pau will find somewhere to play and tear it the F Up next year because he'll be on a veteran team and wont have to do anything else but play to his strengths; which I might add are probably second to none when it comes to playing in the post and setting up his teammates from down there as well. His length and footwork are what makes him so great. Timmy D has extended his career just relying on that skill set. Gasol is quite similar in that fashion. He's not trying to beat his man down the floor or leap into the lane and taking all kinds of contact. Gasol just has to take care of his back.

That said, I'm not convinced he's the right guy for our team...I'd rather give him max money for a 2 year flier while Len develops alongside him but that's not going to happen.

As for Lebron, I just spoke with a transient bumming a smoke off people outside of Albertson's who gave me an inside tip that King James' first choice is to return to the Heat and he's just being belligerent with Riley and his friends to cough up some cap space for better players. He's staying put.

Sarver is Gambo's source. My guess is things have changed a bit. The news about the Suns meeting in Cleveland was after Gambo reported the 48-hour window piece.

There are no FA's out there that aren't worth not waiting for the best player in the world and I stink McBabver realizes that...

I dont think anyone expects LeBron to decide within the first 24-48 hours of free agency. I think what Gambo means is that if the Suns call and he doesnt return the call in 24-48 hours they'll move on, but if the Suns call and he says "I'm taking meetings starting Friday, you're meeting #3" the Suns take that meeting.

Lowry is going to wait 2-3 days before making a decision. I hope this doesn't drag out too long.

A lot of our competition are courting Lebron as well. They are on the same time table. The real free agency will start after he signs. While we are waiting the Heat are letting players slip through their fingers as well.

Either they already have Lebron's guarantee or they would be taking a HUGE risk signing for cheap and not contending without Lebron.

The Gambo report was from 2 days ago, before Lebron came out and said he was setting a timeline.

Sarvers quote came from today, after Lebron set his timeline.

So basically, i believe both reports are/were correct. We did set a window, but when Lebron set up his own timeline, we then did the smart thing and adjusted ours.
