Yes it does matter. These guys are not robots or players in NBA 2k19, they care about their own careers and a guy like TJ Warren is definitely pissed and embarrassed about being labeled a "bench player." It is insulting to him and his game. Even if he plays 30+ MPG, starting vs not starting him could easily be the difference between him being happy and him being disgruntled and wanting out.

You can't keep spouting BS without being called out for some evidence.

Show me something concrete other than your armchair psychologist opinion

"Obviously it's not ideal for him." -David West.

Obviously.

Do you actually think NBA players don't care about starting?

Warren, who was the Suns’ second-leading scorer last season behind Devin Booker, is still adjusting to the idea of coming off the bench this year. But according to West, “politics” don’t matter to him. At the end of the day, Warren’s just trying to hoop.

And then followed it up by saying it is obviously not ideal for him. Because it isn't. He just isn't as pissed as other players would be. Imagine how pissed Booker would have been if we had made him our "6th man spark off the bench" behind Brandon Knight. He'd probably be playing for another team right now.

You're making a monumental leap from not ideal to being royally pissed, disgruntled and embarrassed.

You don't think that watching Anderson stink it up while starting over him makes him think about starting a bit more? 20, 30, 40 games in if Anderson is still starting yet averaging less than half of what TJ is averaging then you can't expect TJ to not get upset.

I don't think or expect TJ to be upset, disgruntled or embarrassed. YOU'RE projecting those feeling onto him. He's a professional

If Booker came off the bench behind Knight in 2016-2017 do you think he wouldn't have been upset?

If Manu came off the bench his whole career, do you think he wouldn't be upset?

When did a scrub like Ryan Anderson ever start over Manu?

OLD Michael Finley, journeyman Keith Bogans and Roger Mason all started ahead of Manu throughout his prime.

TJ has come the bench for 6 games, relax guy. It's not the end of the world and your panties are way more more bunched up than TJ seemingly

As much as I like TJ and his improved three-point shooting, he's still not a great passer and Kokoskov's system really relies on that. Obviously, he should start over Anderson, but he's probably best as a second-unit scorer unless he improves as a playmaker.

TJ playing most of his minutes at the 4 this season seems to be a smaller adjustment for him than I had anticipated. His overall FG% has gone down but his efficiency is well above league average and closing in on .600 TS% for the first time in his career because of his 3PT shooting and shooting .900+ FT%

He's easily the most impressive and surprising player for the Suns so far this season for me

I am so happy that TJ has played as well as he has. He needs to get more minutes, and more touches. The fact that he is shooting so well from three is incredible. If he could increase his rebounds to just two more per game, I would be even more pleased with his game. His contract is a steal, too.

I was a TJ doubter but man if he can shoot 3s he's a nice player. Now I think the question becomes can he work long term as the 4 next to ayton or should he be the 6th man. I do think they are right in playing him as a 4 now and moving forward. He's not a great rebounder but that's not a huge deal next to ayton because he covers that. Defensively is the question on how they fit together.

According to the advanced stat resource Cleaning the Glass, Warren leads the Suns and is in the 86th percentile among forwards in a category called points per 100 shot attempts. That figure takes both field-goal and free-throw attempts (including when fouled in the bonus) into account.

Just wanted to pop in and say that TJ is the real deal. He is worth every penny and we should be grateful that we have him locked down.

Averaging 22/5/1/1.5 on 53/44/93 shooting since starting.
