Hield > Russell.

That's even what the Lakers seem to think.

#4 for Russell
Bledsoe to SAC for #8 (Seriously, looking at the mocks and taking team needs into account, i could see one of Bender or Chriss falling to us at #8).

Russell/Booker/Warren/(Chriss or Bender or Skal)/Len

I can promise you that McD does not want to take that risk. I would rather draft an injured Bender over trading for Russell.

I don't think Russell's risks are all that treacherous. He was young, stupid, and immature at 18. Doesn't mean he will be the same at 22.

And I must have missed the Bender news? What happened?

IMO Russell is a bigger risk than Bender. You didn't miss anything. I was just saying I would still draft Bender IF he was injured.

Wow really? :o I guess trading Tyson isn't that big a deal after all then. Although this doesn't persuade me and I hope not anyone else either to pay Harrison Barnes the max.

Not at all. Dumping his contract would put us even further in the hole.

But you see, this is the exact reason why there are some players out there that will be getting crazy big contracts that they dont deserve, thus making every other players contract increase. To me, Biyombo doesnt deserve a max contract, but he will get on do to the sudden influx of money in the league. Then all of a sudden it becomes, "How do you not give this guy MORE money when a player like Biyombo is making this amount of money".

The sudden increase also makes it possible for almost every team to all of a sudden have the ability to try to lure in an all-star with cash. This is the season for teams like the Knicks and others who already have a big name player on the squad to lure in a 2nd or a 3rd. This is the year for teams to load up on as many stars as they can.

Well, this is where McD was very smart in locking in Bledsoe, Knight, Chandler when he did (yes, maybe not all the best signings but for future value, not as bad as people think). It is probably best to try and trade for people that are already under contract so you don't have to overpay until you have the right mix of talent and a super stud available. I would be careful with cap space this summer.

OK, enough with the attacks, backseat modding, extreme over use of smilies (and you usually do it far worse than these examples...one gets the point across just fine).

Russell is getting slept on here. I hate the Lakers, but Russell is pretty much the only talented player they have on their roster. He shot better than Booker from 3 this year on more attempts.

Would definitely do #4 for D'Lo, even though I was starting to finally warm up to Bender.

Correct, after the "Video Taping Incident", they are worried about team chemistry. Also, with Ingram playing Point-Forward, they really dont need a ball handler at PG. Its the reason why he wasnt nearly effective as he could have been this season with Kobe playing that Point-Forward role. On top of all that they still have Clarkson at PG, who they love and is more of a "Shooting Point Guard".

There is no guarantee that Kobe leaving will make Russell a better player. I would love to be proven wrong. If we can get Russell for a steal then great otherwise trading #4/13 is just plain stupid.

Weird that for as much as you value Buddy for his shooting, you would post a Dunn video since he is known to have a pretty bad jumper.

I'll take a 20 year old Russell with one year in the NBA over 22 year old Dunn with no NBA experience anyday.

Point forward? Are you sure you are not thinking of Simmons? Ingram averaged 2 assists and 2 turnovers in college.

I would take Bender/Dunn/Chriss over Russell at this point. Maybe Russell blows up this season and makes everyone eat crow however right now he is a high-risk low-reward player.

If i remember correctly, his projected ceiling was being a Brandon Roy type of player with better passing skills. He relies more on his court vision and basketball IQ than his athleticism.

Well he probably didn't watch a ton of Russell videos last year because we had pick 13. Had he, or once he watches the ones you post, he will likely want to trade all of our picks and a couple of players for him because he is the "real deal".
