Chriss to me looks like a more athletic Markieff with defensive potential.

Chriss is the same height as Blake Griffin. He has a 1 inch longer reach, the same standing reach, and his vert (max and standing) is 3 inches more than Blake's. Blake weight was 248 and Marquese is 233, but Blake was 16 months older...Chriss can shoot better than Blake at the same stage and has more range. Blake's thickness means a lot, but Marquese will get thicker (nice muscle tone).

After watching and selling myself on him, I can see he does have a decent handle, quick first step, nice spin move, turn around J, and a behind the back dribble...

Maybe we get lucky again and this guy translates. Also, his measurement are IDENTICAL to Amare's minus the 2 inches on wingspan and 4 inches on reach (Amare was 9'.05"!!) But again, Chriss max vert is 3 inches more than Amare's with their max jump height both being 12ft (Chriss was 11'11.5"). Even though Amare shoulders were wider, both are/were 233lbs

I feel a lot better about his size now. If we draft him.

He can't defend, can't rebound (he can offensive rebound a tad), and can't pass. I have him off my board for #4 completely. Anyone seeing Amare or Marion in this kid is projecting their desires instead of seeing reality.

Bender, Hield, Murray, Ellenson.

I just posted his size. He looks small, but he isn't.

His offensive game is pretty advance for a 19 year old let alone someone who hasn't been playing for a long time. Sunsbum believes in his offense.

I love how you keep quoting sunsbum about believing in his offense when sunsbum hates Chriss as a prospect. I know he said what you are saying, but it's funny.

I would add Dunn to that list. Brown is off my list as well (too many negatives). I'm really hoping that rumor about Dunn is true. I've seen too much of Chriss that I just can't get excited about the pick. Especially for a pick this high in the draft. Sorry. :nonono:

Hey, I said I didn't think it was too hot but it looked like he had a foundation to build on, then Bum said that wasn't the issue. I was like "damn" ok sign me up!

I guess I am doing it so I can use Bum as my shield if anyone disagrees with my assessment

Well I hardly doubt anyone here is an authority on draft prospects. You can only gain so much from watching games. I suppose I will trust McD, but I'm nervous of course. I just hope we keep our picks or at a minimum draft at least 3 players.

Well, I am trying to make buttermilk taste better......It would be funny if we don't draft him after I am sold. I am still not sold yet. But I am working on it. I mean we have no PF and fifty guards. I would still draft Hield without a doubt.

Bilas had Dunn, Murray, and Hield rated 3,4, and 5 BPA.

Just thinking about tomorrow and drafting Chriss, I am feeling the anticlimacticism right now.....a little depressing when I think a bout it. I know his potential, but I don't think he will be better than the others for some reason. I can't get excited.

I can live with Chriss. He's just going to take awhile to get there on defense. The foul rate will be frustrating. I'm not worried about the rebounding at all. It's teachable. His raw skills aren't teachable. You just have to convince him that he has to grab defensive boards to be great and win.

Most draft experts have Dunn 3/4. Some love Murray/Hield. Some don't. Its a funny year.

Thanks JMac.I've been trying to sell myself on Chris but it's been tough. He shows a lot of flashes of his potential but still has flaws in his game. Hopefully though he pans out and we'll have a dynamic duo of Booker/Chriss for years to come.

I prefer bender but I'm cool with chriss. I've been saying the suns need to upgrade their athleticism and need to find core pieces so should swing for the fences in the draft. Chriss has a ton of question marks but he definitely checks the athlete and upside boxes.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.
