Rockets will not trade Eric Gordon... he just won 6th man of the year and is critical to Rockets success.

This is not counting meniscus surgery in 2012, knee cap surgery in 2009 and another knee surgery in college. There is just no way this doesn't end badly.

Agreed. I wonder how long after the Suns sign Griffin would he turn into one of the league's worst contracts? And I'm talking top 10....I'd say 1 year at the most.

Bledsoe is due to tear his meniscus next season (iirc) so then two of our highest paid players are gonna be sitting on the bench cause of injury.

So, sad as it is for us, I find very very likely that Blake is gonna sign with you guys. He's not the type to be getting public meetings to feed his own ego, it actually surprised me that he had even one public meeting leaked like this. So it's likely that you're gonna close it right there on Saturday imo, unless your FO plans on low balling him or something. Then, there's the fact that his agent, not him, is meeting with the Clippers the day before, which kinda signals he's just letting us know he's gone.

Also, for the skeptics, once you have him on your team, you'll find out that a lot of his public perception is due to hot takes, and he's a much more humble, hard working, reliable guy than he gets credit for.

Scutt wrote:So Blake Griffin on the Clippers, playing with Chris Paul, cannot get past the 2nd round. Yet putting him on the Suns, with a baby Booker and a worse supporting cast is supposed to make us contenders? Add Griffin and we still might not make the playoffs. Do we really want to stunt the growth and development of Bender and Chriss just for a few possible first round playoff exits?

The Western conference has only gotten deeper and I honestly believe the Suns are not at the point of being one piece away from truly competing. If I am wrong and we are, I highly doubt that the piece is a 28 year old Blake Griffin, with injuries, seeking a large contract. The Suns need to show some restraint and self control, stick with that 2020 plan.

How does this stunt the growth and development of Bender and Chriss? They will still get ample playing time, and now in practice they go against a top 5 PF in the league. Reminds me of the scenario where little brother goes against bigger brother every day, finally beats bigger brother 1 on 1 and little brother says thats what made him the player he is today.

Booker/Blake could be a lethal combo too. Add in Bledsoe, Warren, Chriss or JJ. We have all the small pieces to the puzzle, but Blake could be the huge piece we've been missing, and puts it all together. Will it result in championship? Probably not at least this year, but other players get injured too.

Yo not gonna lie, this is some funny stuff. The marketing aspect I can see the Suns being all over Griffin.

What happens if Len / Williams get offers tomorrow and Griffin doesn't have an answer soon.

I Love if Blake would sign with us.. he can Play 4 or 5 Running with us. This guy can be a monster if we can manage to get him healthy. I would prefer to sign One big Contract player before spending 20 - 24 mil for len and williams

My take is: we'll be going after every big free agent possible. We want to build a good reputation and put on a show. Get a bit of buzz for the fans.

But when it comes to it, we won't go any bigger than a 2 year max. Millsap and Blake will both be looking for longer term deals and we'll end up with no big names.

I reckon the sales pitch will be "come here, our medical staff will literally rehab your value". You get a 2 year max and then have a chance to get a nice long overpay contract in 2019 by someone else.

Griffin will not sign for 2 years... when there are multiple teams that will be willing to give him him 4 years.

If Griffin signs with Suns it means Suns will field a competitive team that hopefully gets better and better and by 2020, will be top 3 out west if not top 2.

I think Knight will get a buy out, Sarver will buy him out assuming Griffin will sign. The logic is, the Suns will have enough players in rookie deals that can play big minutes to justify spending money by buying out Knight who will then join his preferred team, everyone wins.

Say what you want about Blake, the fact of the matter is the Suns are a top 15 player in the NBA away from being a dangerous team that can make the playoffs and cause problems in the playoffs. When healthy, Blake fits that criteria as a top 15 player in the NBA. We have 5 players under 22 on our team and Bledsoe is about at the peak of his career. This year or at the very latest next year is where we need to start building for a championship run. Its not every day a top 15 talent ASKS US to meet. Strike while the iron is hot. Adding Blake does nothing but help us now and recruiting in the future. Let's turn this franchise around.

What a little douche.

I'm fine with signing Blake since it means our medical staff cleared him. They will keep him healthy, its not like Amare who had micro fracture and was a time bomb. Even amare lasted into his early 30's.

I'm also fine not signing him and going another year with the yute movement. With Blake we probably make the playoffs as a mid/low seed. Without Blake we have a 5-8 pick then probably make the playoffs the next season.

Go with the flow, man.

The West is really tough, especially if we play 6 guys on rookie contracts each night.

If we can get 40 wins with Blake I'd consider that a good result, as Booker / Jackson / Chriss natural development should get us another 10 by 2020.

Sadly our owner is Robert Sarver.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him offer $5million less than the total max. The guy is a real ding-a-ling.

I'm on board with Blake! If people are already wanting to play next to Devin booker that is a very very good sign. As bubbles would say. Deeeeccent.
"Mannnnn I’m like the guy that pissed this whole board off saying literally all year no Mikal, no Mikal in the KD trade."
