I'm surprised they haven't had Bennett in to get a medical evaluation. Maybe they know he's going top 4?

His draft stock isn't very high at the moment, but I still don't see him falling out of the first round/#30, probably someone takes him in the 20s.

People use the word "bust" too much lately. A 30th pick in the draft will never, ever be a bust. At that point in the draft, all there is is hopeful diamonds in the rough. Bust is reserved for highly touted, early picks. Let go of that word.

I was thinking the same thing. Too much sense for Washington or Charlotte.

They are deciding between between the three BPA left with Noel, Porter, Bennet and one of Mc/Oladipo off of the board.

Two of those guys will be left...definitely one will!

Zeller is small, they probably want to see how all of these guys handle playing against that size.

Zeller=small? Bennett is small? But Gobert is big? You have size in length, height, and girth..... Zeller is not small. He may be a little light in the ass compared to some, but he is not small.

Zeller has a shorter standing reach than Markieff Morris who is small, so yes Zeller is small..

Seems odd to have 5 guys in, 2 bigs and 3 wings.

I've heard Michael Carter Williams is here. So are two others that are not lottery projected. Here's the list posted at the facility.

Yeah, I just cant seem to get over the whole Wes Johnson comparison with McLemore. That's the biggest striking issue to me. The resemblance is uncanny.

However, I'm willing to give the guy a shot...

In McDonut we trust?

I'm sorry... but an uncanny resemblance? I dont know where to begin... but they are dramatically different players. I mean... they didnt even play the same POSITION as college players. Wes Johnson was a late blooming player who was really damn old for a lotto pick. Most of Johnson's problems stem from his awful ball handling ability. You cant have a swing man in the NBA who struggles to dribble, even with no one on him. McLemore has NONE of those issues.

Agreed. I think McLemore's WCS is Brandon Rush. Still a fantastic player but not an all-star talent. I'm not sure what his BCS is.

Carter-Williams and McCollum will be in tomorrow.

#6 is Alex Len today

I have to think that if the Suns are choosing between McL/Porter/Len at #5 the FO will seriously consider the #9/Williams trade with Minny.

You really think they'll pass up McClemore if he falls to number 5?

Well, to pass it would require

1. They don't like him all that much

2. Minny does

3. They like someone at #9 (Shabazz, Mcollum, Zeller, Len)

I think there's a higher chance we pick up a 2nd pick rather than trade down.

Ray Allen

Ray Allen has had a great career, so to have that kind of longevity is a stretch to hope for anyone, but if you just look at skill sets, they are similar, though McLemore is more athletic. Ray Allen played three years on college too, so McLemore is still more raw.

Why are you so sure? The way I look at it is that McD is going to be in asset collection mode this year. If they work out Shabazz, and he compares well to McL PLUS they can pick up Williams why wouldn't they do it? I know that Williams hasn't been the best the last two years, and Shabazz's stock has taken a huge hit, but these two guys have the talent to be talked about as #1 pick at some point in their careers.

If you have a coach and a program in place that you think will get the best from them, why not double down and swing for the fences?

Or Caldwell Pope at #9. There is quite a bit of buzz that many teams like him as much as VO or BM, and he is more of a well rounded player than both.

This is the perfect draft TO trade down. If we don't have the chance to get VO or McL I don't see any reason to just settle for the next BPA if we can turn the 5 into two or more assets. In a weak but deep draft, we need to look into it.

I really hate how people seem to KNOW what we're going to do. This is complete speculation on our part, and a discussion as to what we THINK will happen, or what we WISH would happen. Unless people here have inside information, no one knows any more than anyone else around here.

bc this is the franchises highest pick in years, the talent after the top 5-6 falls off a bit and we need top end talent much more than 2 mediocre talents.

We are not trading down. It would send the completely false message to the fan base.

I appreciate your eye for basketball talent, and I'm sure you moonlight as a scout on your free time.

But....

I'm just not precluding a trade down, and I really don't think value-wise it would be a bad trade.

Plus, personally, I'd love to see Williams back in the desert.

Nope, if he's there we take him.
