Though sources have indicated the Bulls would be aggressive in making necessary moves if Anthony verbally committed, the Bulls would have to amnesty Carlos Boozer and trade Mike Dunleavy, Jimmy Butler and Anthony Randolph for a starting salary of $16.9million

Sources told the Tribune last week that Rose's camp had made clear to Anthony's camp that Rose would welcome an Anthony signing. Still, his speaking to Anthony for roughly 20 minutes inside the Bulls' locker room represented a departure for someone not comfortable in that role.

Rose left the United Center with assistant general manager Randy Brown shortly after 3 p.m. and didn't attend a dinner later.

According to a source present at the meeting, the Bulls sold what they always sell — a ready-to-win roster, the city, attendance that annually ranks first or second in the league, the championship tradition, facilities and strong ownership and organization.

That the Eastern Conference is eminently winnable also may have resonated with an 11-year veteran experiencing free agency for the first time. Especially since the rest of Anthony's week includes visits to the Rockets and Mavericks on Wednesday and the Lakers on Thursday in the rugged Western Conference.

Another one bites the dust... soon.

Pretty sad, they drafted Otto Porter to be their starting SF and pretty much put Ariza on the block since they got Porter. Looks like to me they have lost all faith in him if they are spending the semi-big bucks to now keep Ariza.

I said it before but it's worth saying again... If Miami continues to strike out on FA's but we somehow fail to land Lebron due to some newly found sense of loyalty, I'll lose it. It's like going after a certain girl who's known for putting out. You take her out to dinner, and the whole time you're thinking, "That ass is mine". Then at the end of the night she tells you that she's turning over a new leaf and wants to get to know you first.

I think if Lebron was serious, we might have a deal in place with the Wolves to get Love, without giving up Dragic or Bledsoe, but we aren't just gonna get Love without affirming his desire to stay here, and that won't happen until we get Lebron.
We'd probably be giving up Len/Warren/Morris bros, but we'd still have a solid core of Dragic/Bledsoe/Lebron/Love/Plumlee and a bench of Ennis/Goodwin/Green. Keep Frye, get Ray Allen on the Lebron train, Jermaine O'Neal come back to town.
Just exploring... though I'd rather just sign two top tier free agents than make any trades, but that would be Lebron's decision, lol.

I'd give up our 2 picks next year as well as Minny's back along with the twins. The LAL pick could be pretty valuable.

If we could give up Lakers pick, our own pick, and somehow sell them on getting their own pick back instead of giving up Len, I would do that trade 9 times out of 10.

I'm not giving up that Lakers pick. If the miss on Melo and LBJ (Which looks VERY likely at present) that is going to be a top-5 pick.

Easy. You surpass the cap by re-signing your own players. Sarver already said that he's willing to spend money.

And with Lebron in town, you absolutely go over the cap and re-sign these guys. Lebron is going to make Sarver so much money even if we are slightly in the luxury tax. Tickets prices will sore, and they will always be sold out to the retired community of Scottsdale.
Agree. If LeBron is on board, the cap is no longer in play, the lux tax is the target. I think Sarver will go (and stay) slightly into the lux tax to win a championship.

That's my offer as well.

... but if Lebron's on the way, I'd even consider adding Dragic for Martin (retaining the picks if I could). I know, I know. But LeBron and Love in the same front court? Da-yum. That would be all-time nasty.

I feel like I'd need some semblance of the past on this team. I just can't deal with trading Dragic. He is the heart of this team and stuck with us even knowing how bad we would be.

All I'm saying is, Lebron has branded himself a mercenary, if he suddenly becomes a prude I'm going to be pissed.

If Lebron and Melo/Bosh give their word to come the Twins would be traded within 45 minutes. I don't think people realize that we have to gut the roster if the plan is to keep both Dragic/Bledsoe along with Lebron-Melo/Bosh. I believe Valley Of The Suns broke it down yesterday.

And some of them might even show up for tip off.

I'd give him 1 more day to decide then go get CParsons and Gasol

Top 5 protected 2015
Top 3 protected 2016
Top 3 protected 2017
Unprotected 2018

All that for a worn out Steve Nash  .

I wouldn't give the MoBros a second thought if the difference between landing Lebron were those two.

That next Lakers pick is probably the second best thing we'll get out of that deal.

Ray ray, I hear you. Windhorst has been fairly unreliable thus far. However, the words were "Lebron has been quiet" not "his agent." I think at this point the longer we don't hear about who the Suns are working deals with and the more we hear about Miami's targets drying up, the better the chances are that LeBron looks seriously at the Suns.

I doubt that. And we'd still have one of the quietest crowds in the league if we got Lebron. These senior citizens need to watch their games at home!

It's a no-brainer. Plus we could get quality pick(s) for them.

Then next summer we'd have multiple picks and the MLE to boost the roster even more. McD's selling point isn't just short term.
