I'm not so sure. There has been plenty of trades where teams have given up players on rookie contracts. They got two players who play the same position and could get an upgrade at PF (Kieff). Last year we gave up a rookie Ennis for an upgrade (questionable) at SG. I'm sure we were pretty high on him too.

If you think about this trade for a few minutes you are going to see it like a great trade. This is why....

The Wizards are a decent team who are gonna fight for the playoffs until the last game...that makes them out of that 1-9 protection.

But the Wizards are not a great team that can make the playoffs over teams like Chicago, Detroit or Boston ( for example).

It seems clear to me that we are going to receive a pick in the late lottery (10-14) and McDonough is really good picking players in that area (Warren and Booker).

Knight/Price
Booker/Archie
Tucker/Teletovic
Leur/Kim Kardashian's Ex Lover
Chandler/Len

With Weems, and some D-league guys filling in for any injuries.

-I'm excited to see the Knight and Booker backcourt bomb away. Knight better move the damn ball though.

-Tucker and Chandler will keep the team positive when we lose 10 in a row again.

-Archie should get some good burn. He deserves it.

-Teletovic seems like a good locker room guy. I'd like to have him back next year if the price is right and we have room.

-I want to see if Leur can go back to playing like Kevin Love light with more time now that FOED-bag is gone.

A contender can trade us a late first for him.

If they were only offering a second, then F-it. We keep Telly and try to get him back next year.

Guys I just ran the lottery simulator and got the worst possible scenario.

Washington got bumped to the second pick, knocking the Lakers to 4 and the Suns to 5.

If that happens in real life...

There's less than a percent chance of that happening but knowing our luck you never know.
