Seriously, I'd do that trade in a heartbeat, and I actually like Knight.

That would make the Clips better....Make it happen, I'll buy you lunch.

We can't beat the Nuggets offer, unless we include Booker and a lightly protected 2016 pick, which I wouldn't do. Jokic alone trumps anything else we would offer

Well, according to the report, the Nuggets rejected the offer, so Clips should be looking for another dance partner. Not saying we'd actually get Blake, but it's fun to rosterbate.

Whoops yeah the Nuggets weren't willing to do that, but the Clips would obviously take that package in a heartbeat. They could probably catch up to OKC with those additions

Knight, Morris and a top 3 protected first rounder.

Griffin is a douche but he is also the best PF in the game and this is a rare oportunity when a player of that calibre is available.

I know he punched that guy and broke his hand, but I still can't understand why the Clips would trade Griffin. I guess if you can get a huge package for him and really think Paul with a different group of guys along with Jordan can put you over the top 3, it makes a little bit of sense, but really only if they think he will leave next summer.

I mean, just this summer he was recruiting Jordan. I know Lowe wrote a column saying they play just about as good with an avg stretch 4 in his place, because of the better spacing, but the thing is, Paul isn't going to be around forever.

Unless they are thinking he is like Amare and you might want to let him go because he may break down with a few years.

But what exactly happened for that situation to deteriorate so quickly?

Why do people want Blake knowing that he's 100% opting out after next season? Seems like it could end up a disaster where you give up a ton of assets for 1 season.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Griffin can walk in 16 months. You'd give up assets for that kind of rental? It's not like we could sell him on PHX in that time either. Even with Griffin, Booker and possibly a healthy Bledsoe we are probably a sub 500 team.

They won't. Especially at the deadline. Maybe they think about it during the offseason, but moving Blake is a bad move for them.

The Wizards aren't trading Otto Porter, but I'm sure they would move Oubre. I've been banging the drum on Washington as a possible Kieff destination all season long. Because of Nene's expiring, there's room for a blockbuster there too.

I like Tobias Harris a lot as a player, but I hate his contract. He hasn't taken the "next step" the Magic thought he would this year and that deal might end up being one of the worst overpays in the league. He's only 23, so there's still room to grow, still, I'd much rather keep Kieff and his reasonable deal.

I honestly think it's a media thing and not an actual Clippers thing. Talking heads questioned whether the Clips could win as currently constructed, and the answer seems no considering depth, age, etc. Blake is the biggest trade chip they have, and could net them the depth and (relative) youth the Clipper need, and they have proven to do just as well without Blake as with him. IMO, they just need to do a better job of getting those role players. Blake/CP3/DeAndre/Reddick is a pretty solid group, but then you've got Lance, Jamaal, Pierce, Austin Rivers (who will be with them until Doc retires or is fired as GM), Cole Aldridge and Mbah a Moute. I don't really know or care to look up their cap situation, but if it doesn't look like free agency is a possible route, then I can see exploring trades for those role players. Blake is really their only trade chip.

That being said, Blake is, regardless of media/fan perception, one of the best players in the NBA. You'd need to get a lot back for him in order to make it work. That Nuggets deal doesn't look terrible, but the Nuggets aren't biting (if the report can be believed).

The pick would be protected and there is a big gap between Simmons, Ingram, Bender and the rest of the lottery. With Griffin, healthy Bledsoe, Booker, top 3 pick and the rest of the team we will at least battle for the playoff so we would trade mid first rounder, Knight who is a terrible fit here and Markieff.

I don`t know if Clipps accept this trade tho, they can probably get better offer.

That makes zero sense for Atlanta unless their management is heels over heads in love with Dwight the hometown hero and has assurance of him staying. But it could just as easily be a half season rental, and Horford will age better so might as well ink him. Thats a downgrade AND they are giving up Teague for basically nothing on top of that

Whats's up with Bender? How many of you really saw him play? On which data do you base a conclusion that he is so bouncing off the rest of the class? Guy is barely playing, and all we have now is the abstract of his physics that are intriguing, indeed, but not even closely enough to feel safe when picking him over any other (hypothetically) at #3. Other than that, he'll very likely be another draft&stash option, and that is not particularly what we need now.

Suns better hold onto the picks and young players they have unless they are getting a superstar in return. And by superstar I mean Griffin or Harden or maybe both if they can get it done (without giving up Booker). I really do not want to see any trades like last year where the Suns gave up a good asset for a mediocre player like Knight.

Return to Phoenix Suns
