Re: 2016 Draft Thread Part 4
Sigh. I'm at the USSSA World Series in Orange Beach with my son's baseball team. He has games at 6:15 pm est and 9:45 pm est. I think I'm going to miss everything. Does anyone know exactly what time we will pick? And does anyone want to PM me relevant updates tonight? I won't have time to scroll the boards.

If you PM me, I'll try and give you updates. I'm not sure when the actual draft starts. I think it's the coverage that starts at 7pm ET. We'll see. I may try and keep the first post in the thread with the draft list updated as it goes, so you can just leave it on that post and refresh.

At this point I hope there is a trade for Okafor. Even if he is not a good fit on the team he will probably bring more value in a future trade.
Safe to assume? where do you get that? There's nothing safe about Chriss - not a word you can attribute to him. Also they're kind of a different type of players. All in all - say what you will about Markieff, but after all he's a decent to good NBA power forward, while there's a big risk Chriss will never reach even that kind of an on court value. There's quite a big chance that Chriss will never be as good as Markieff even.
My assumption is based on the fact that the rumors that he is our pick are actually true. I somewhat trust McD's talent evaluation and if he drafts Chriss that early I will expect him to become nothing less than Markieff. But I don't see that big of an upgrade over him too.
I actually trust McD as well. And nobody's denying Chriss has talent, but developing that talent is something else. If he develops, he has a chance to be so much more than Markieff, if not... he's gonna be the next Earl Clark. on my part, I would be weary of putting any kind of assurances on where Chriss end's up when all is said and done. Markieff was a lot more of a sure thing (with lot lower ceiling) than Chriss is.

We should make a discord chat room
"Mannnnn I’m like the guy that pissed this whole board off saying literally all year no Mikal, no Mikal in the KD trade."

Several teams have entirely ruled Thon Maker out of the first round due to his age. Multiple sources believe Maker to be 21-23, not 19.

I've been on the Bender wagon the whole time and will remain there. I'll be upset if we don't end up with him tonight but after a long (alcohol tinged) sleep, I'll wake up and start to gather some enthusiasm for whoever we pick. I still trust McD.

That's not a good team either. I really don't see all the Hield love with all his limitations and struggles against long and athletic guards even at college level. Can't turn the corner, drives only to one side, if he goes to the other, he turns the ball more often than not and can't distribute to top it off. not sure at all he'll be able to perform that trick on NBA level, especially as he doesn't have anything to fall back on to. I don't know way, but watching Hield he kind of reminds me of Nick Young - lesser version of him. So I'm not sold team can go very far with him. but maybe that's just me.

Sources say Phoenix, in its failed trade pitch to convince Utah to surrender Gordon Hayward, tried to pair Eric Bledsoe with a lottery pick
The growing sense in league circles is that the Suns are determined to move either Bledsoe or Brandon Knight before the start of next season

Do you guys think we are higher on Chriss (black American athlete) over Bender (white European skill player) because we missed on Len (white Euro skill player) vs Noel (black American athlete) a few years ago?..... Don't get crazy over the race part, but it makes the comparison even more eerily similar.
Edit: I am joking.

Sound like a guard is coming to townHield. Draft him then go from there. Much safer and more ready pick.
No. Log jam at that position and the team was trying to trade a 1 for a 3.

BW. I am wanting a guard, because if the Suns prefer Chriss over Bender, there has to be reasons....maybe he is more hype? And the Earl Clark failure that was brought up has me afraid of Chriss now AND that was the year Curry came out and MJ died. So Prince has died this year and Hield is coming out and we are thinking about another project player.......creepy....

McD has learned nothing, apparently. Trying to trade the best player, at his lowest value, one of the few dudes who actually likes it there.
Never mind that he was trying to trade him for an expiring Hayward. smh
No free agent is going to want to sign there, including Hayward, outside of like Harrison Barnes for max money because no one else wants to pay that bum.
