I think it's likely that Ulis is not a starter in the league. I just don't think it's wise to render judgment. Same with DJJ. Players improve.

Taking a look at your theory, I chose 10 prominent guards and wing players at random (3FG):

Isaiah Thomas - 37.9% rookie year; 37.9% this year
Jimmy Butler - 18.2% rookie (low volume), 38.1% sophomore; 36.7% last year
Paul George - 29.7%; 39.3%
Jeff Teague - 21.9%; 35.7%
George Hill - 32.9%; 40.3%
Gordon Hayward - 47.3%(!); 39.8%
Derrick Rose - 22.2%; 21.7%
Jrue Holliday - 39%; 35.6%
Mike Conley - 33%; 40.7%
Goran Dragic - 37%; 40.5%

You're more right than I would have expected. The bad news is that Devin Booker's a 34% 3FG shooter :D

Just assessing Booker by the numbers for the entire year, he's not an efficient scorer to say the least. But if you just take 2017 after the new year, he was much better. So hopefully that was due to turf toe. They hype machine is pretty crazy since he was an inefficient scorer and is not a good defender but at least we may have that turf toe excuse and he is extremely young. But if his efficiency doesn't consistently improve and make a pretty big jump this next year, that's not a good sign. But I guess we could talk about that in his thread.

Apparently his EFG% was better than Durant's, Kobe's and Melo's at his age. So there's that.

Yeah, which I pointed out in this thread on the PC forum (or at least provided a twitter link to a chart showing that) viewtopic.php?f=64&t=1560970

Personally I was never a fan of the latter two player's games. Though Kobe ended up being a good defender. I do like Booker's willingness to pass though. If he is a very willing passer who can cut down on turnovers and pick his spots a little better, then he will really improve his efficiency and have a very well rounded offensive game. Then there is defense. I can't complain though given his age, which is why I think it's ridiculous to minimize him that much at this age like a guy did in that thread I linked to.

He ended up researching it, and the leader this year of 22 feet or longer 2s is Booker. Also, the first response from that tweet showed that Booker led in 23 ft 2 pt attempts.

He took almost all of our desperation/end of clock shots this season, I wonder how many of those long 2's came from that?

dont try to justify the mad bomber's penchant for taking shots. If he is open to shoot, he'll pull the itchy trigger. Who cares where he shoots from, as long as his %s remain respectable. That said, I dont know what clip Book shoots from from 20-23 ft.

42%, which is a great % for 3 pointers, not so much for 2 pointers. Pelton's original point with the tweet was with court awareness. Where you are when you either catch and shoot or just decide to pull up. With a foot on the line you are costing your team points, provided they would have made the shot anyway.

“I want to be more involved, because at the end of the day this determines all our futures,’’ Booker said. “… I just want to sit down, get to know people. I might like more than one person. I mean, I’m not going to have a say – ‘I want you to draft him,’ or anything like that -- but I’d like to participate a little bit in it.”

“We’re at that point where we have veterans, we have young guys, and bringing in another top player I think can get us over that edge,’’ Booker said. “We have great veterans around us. We have young players with a lot of experience so bringing him in -- whoever it is – I just hope they’re ready to work.”

That was eye-popping for me too. I guess voters over-valued defense and rim protection due to the direction/state of the league.
KAT was clearly the best 2 way C last year.

I think his efficiency will rise as some of the offensive pressure is taken off him. He tries to do too much at times.

He needs to dedicate this summer to becoming a passable defender. Study some tape and focus on positioning and footwork. He doesn't need to be great on this side of the ball but he cant continue to be awful if the suns want to win.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

KAT was dead last in DRPM, even worse than Kanter and Okafor. He's not a great two-way center yet.

Seriously. Dude's talking about legacy and being a part of drafting and all this stuff, but just focus on learning defense. Some defense. Any defense. He's so far away from being a plus player because of it.

For all the people whining on about how we missed out of Kahwi, Gobert and Gianni's, we didn't miss out on Devin..... it would be nice to have one of those guys and Booker, but how'd you like to be the other teams without any of them and you picked someone ahead of them that busted.

15th pick 15th pick 27th and 13th pick.....they say odds are against you finding a star outside the lottery but lately almost every draft has had one. You could argue that Kahwi and Gianni's were the best players in their draft and outside of KAT, Booker.

Be thankful.
