Good deal for the Suns. I was expecting a first rounder next year. If they get a Top 15 pick in this upcoming draft, that would be outstanding. It gives them options to acquire a veteran or to keep building the team and adding on to Bledsoe, Booker, Len and Warren.

I'm not so sure. There has been plenty of trades where teams have given up players on rookie contracts. They got two players who play the same position and could get an upgrade at PF (Kieff). Last year we gave up a rookie Ennis for an upgrade (questionable) at SG. I'm sure we were pretty high on him too.

Check out the Wiz board. Tell them you are not happy and was really hoping they would have included Oubre or Porter. I want to see the reaction. Most of those guys are PISSED.

That's because the fan talk about Kieff has been spiraling out of control. He was never a negative value player. Gm's know that. The good news for Kieff is that expectations are low.

Moving on.

Ryan McDonough with another nice trade.

And since he also usually does a good job with mid-first round draft picks (Booker, Warren), this could get very interesting down the road...

Philly is shopping there #3 pick halfway through the first season. I definitely think they would consider moving up a couple spots if it gained them two additional (likely) lottery picks!

I've read that three times and I don't follow. I know they are shopping Okafor, but then you mention them moving up, not down.

I meant moving down lol.

I bet they will start jollying up once Kieff puts up 16/8 for them, hitting clutch shots in the 4th quarter. And it doesn't really matter what the fans think. Right now, everyone perceives Kieff as some toxic locker room cancer. Nobody past or present that has played with Kieff has said anything ill about him. It's been all upper management that Kieff has hatred towards. SVG has said nothing but praise for Marcus, and he's the bad one of the two.

I wonder if Markieff is on a plane now. I kind of wish he could play tonight just to see if his entire demeanor and effort changed much. I know he had looked better lately but curious if it even gets better.

His stats will likely suffer on that team because they won't throw it down to him on the block as much as we did. It seems like they like to run the pick and roll with Gortat, but maybe with Kieff in the mix they'll give him more of an opportunity.

I'm assuming people from this board will only look at the box scores and laugh about how poorly he's playing like they do with Dragic.

I think this pick is really solid for Kieff. We get to basically refund that 13th pick we used on Markieff this year, and if Ivan Rabb or Buddy Hield fall to us, that would be a huge win. This also makes us worse short term to keep this tank treading on forward. I'm more than a little disappointed we didn't push for Oubre though, as I love his potential as a 3-and-D guy.

This was a very, very solid trade for the Wizards too, as they were able to turn a pick and very ehh players into a solid cog in a team. As long as Morris keeps his head straight, they're looking at a starting caliber 4 that can create and pass; probably a boon in their backcourt-heavy lineup. I actually thought that the Suns and Wizards were very similar, so this trade makes more than just a little sense. Also, Washington gets to spruce up their nest a little bit for a Durant bid, which is much, much needed after how the season's been going for them.

Overall, I'm happy. This is a good trade for McD, and a good trade for the Suns. We managed to get Kieff off of our hands while dumping salary AND getting a late lotto pick, so that's all I could really ask for. Now to just cross our collective fingers and pray to the draft gods that Buddy Hield drops to 10 or so (I'm freaking in love with this kid's game) :D

My sources are telling me keiff to the wizards. Oh and also there might be another trade. Maybe next year, maybe 2021...im not sure, the trade talks are always changing.

Can we lock McD up to an extension now? Fantastic trade as he defied the odds once again. I have confidence he's the guy to lead the Suns back to relevancy

I'd prefer we draft a big guy, but a shooter like Hield next to Booker would be a luxury pick we could take. Booker would have to be a guy we see at the 3 some for that to happen though imo.

Unless Kieff's attitude single-handedly destroys the team upon arrival, I expect it to transfer this year. Hard to see a scenario where they get top 9 unless they somehow win the lottery.

Well, he kind of keeps undoing the messes he created. But I am much happier this trade deadline than at this time last year where I was a bit perplexed.

Have you watched us?

WE SUCK... esp at home. We need to tank, keep the pick, fire Ernie Grunfeld/Randy Wittman and start a new.

I'm tired of this GM...13 YEARS and we haven't even gone to a conference final or won 50 games. HOW DOES HE HAVE A JOB. Ted Leonsis is so disappointing.

I mean right now I'm still in the mindset that we take the best player available. Hield is a 2, which is the most loaded position we've got, but Buddy's also so far beyond anybody else (other than mayyybe Rabb) at that range that I say he's a must-take. His work ethic and head for the game is also great, and he's a perfect example of the benefits of staying in college to develop your game. There's no better scorer other than maybe Ingram in the entire draft, and I can just keep going oooonn and ooooonnnn. Too many positives to let him go

Dragic is playing poorly. Heat fans have turned on him. It's not box score numbers, it's his efficiency and lack of production. He is no longer an All-star caliber, let alone All-NBA caliber, player, and he's certainly not worth 2 firsts and that huge contract. In short, he's not the player they envisioned when they traded for him.

TIMOTHE LUWAWU!!!! I've been preaching us drafting this guy for a while now and he's currently projected to go top 15.

Long SF with excellent perimeter D, good 3 point shooter with crazy athleticism.

Return to Phoenix Suns
