He's had good playoffs runs or was it mostly that one year?

But will he get more playoffs runs in the next few years under this contract?

He said so many interesting things in this interview.

He definitely embraces the PG role.
He says that Ott has an "assassin mentality". Last two years were by far the tougher times of his career.

Probably because he was tasked to play a PG.

He said basically that it was because of the high expectations. We were considered contenders before both seasons started and we didn't meet expectations.

He said that in his first few years in the league we had rebuilding teams so it wasn't as tough as it was these last two seasons.

I feel like we're gonna hear the word 'gravity' a lot this year.

Most of our problems (from last year) were the defensive end, though.

Ok, can we start talking about the best Booker ever?

So far this season:

28.5 PPG
4.2 RPG
7.0 APG
0.8 STL
62.2 TS%
35.6 MP

8W-5L

I think he is playing the best basketball of his career. His court awareness is on another level and his defense is GOOD at any moment in any game. No plays off.

He is creating and finishing with grace, just look this advanced stat:

Read on Twitter

He is set to play in his 5th All-Star this season but I seriously think that he could even enter the MVP conversation at some point of the season if we continue having a winning record.

Book was not so good in first three games. 17 assists vs 18 TOs. Next he started playing much better and is ASG bound indeed if he continues it and Suns continue winning. Still less than 2:1 A/TO ratio for the season, a bit higher than his usual 26-7ppg but in small sample size against losing teams. I think I've seen him play bad D here and there, but Saber follows him closer so may be wrong and he indeed was good at any moment in any game despite D numbers not looking any different than previous seasons. MVP is reserved for 5-6 players and unfortunately I don't think Book is among them.

There are too many things in basketball besides TOs. A player can have high TO numbers in a game and play great in that game when you take everything into consideration.

Book was instrumental for that first win against the Kings. 31 points on 19 shots and 5 assists scoring a superclucht shot in the last minute.

2nd game was our worst game of the season as a team but Book played well. We just couldn't contain Harden who played an amazing first half. Book 18 points on 10 shots and 7 assists in 28 minutes.

3rd game was a GREAT game by Book but it was back-to-back at Denver. We played OK and we were in the game until the last 6-7 minutes of the game. 31 points on 16 shots and 7 assists. And yeah, this is the game where he had 9 TOs.

IMO he is in his absolute prime.
His awareness and passing are better than ever and his defense is super consistent and better than last year for sure.

Top 100 NBA players by THE RINGER
(Updated Nov 26)

12. DEVIN BOOKER

Analysis

Early returns: Maybe the formula was always this simple: Surround Booker with hard-nosed, defensive-minded role players, let the man cook, and win basketball games. It might not take the Suns all the way back to the Finals, but it makes for a welcome palate cleanser after a few sour seasons in Phoenix. Booker’s flexibility does wonders in holding a team together, and a dedicated supporting cast allows Book to focus on the highest-leverage shot creation. It’s an arrangement that suits everyone involved, and it has revitalized one of the most well-rounded players in the league.

Defining trait: A lack of exploitable weakness. Booker is more than just a jack-of-all-trades; in a league where a lineup can be only as strong as its most targetable component, the fact that Booker is rock solid in every element of his game is an incredible strength. Opponents can’t pick on his defense. They can’t tweak their coverage to phase him out of an offense. The best you can really do to press Booker is to test him as a playmaker—but he sees the floor well enough and bails himself out with tough shotmaking when he can’t. Booker isn’t a perfect player, but he is very rarely the problem.

Biggest accomplishment: Becoming a star in spite of his circumstances. Booker has played 10 seasons in Phoenix under eight head coaches. Eight! He’s seen cores torn apart at the first sign of trouble. He’s gone through a turbulent ownership change, followed by a sugar rush of shortsighted hyperactivity. The Suns haven’t operated like a normal NBA team for quite some time, yet Booker made himself into a productive, undeniable player all the same.
