Re: Around the NBA - Other Playoff Series
I'm happy to see Utah pull out last night. I expect them to drop game 2 if there's no Conley. I do want Utah to win (not just because I feel we matchup better with them, but because I would rather one of Phoenix/Utah represent the west). I just hope it takes them 6 or 7 games to do it. That series will be a slugfest.

Re: Around the NBA - Other Playoff Series
I hope Utah wins too, but if for some reason we don't advance out of this round or next, I wouldn't mind seeing the Clips in the finals. At least Utah has made a finals. LA never has.
I also think they would have the best chance to beat Brooklyn given Kawhi's finals experience and clutchness in big games.
And I don't want to see Nash, Amare and D'Antoni bring a championship to another team when they couldn't do so here....especially one with KD, Kyrie and Harden...and Blake Griffin for that matter.

Re: Around the NBA - Other Playoff Series
I'm watching the Nets/Bucks.
The Bucks went came out hot and went up 21. The Nets were taking open, but bad shots, in that they were not in the rhythm of their offense.
Their comeback (down 6 at the moment) was because they were owning Brook Lopez inside. Bruce Brown was making him look silly. He is a slow defender.
I don't expect DA to have that trouble if we meet them down the line. In fact, I could see DA possibly playing Brown off the floor. I'd need to see more of him though. I'm just going by a small sample size.
They double KD sometimes and I expect we would too sometimes. But I think we have better length. I could also see us put DA on KD sometimes while Bridges takes on Kyrie to get length on him.
These are just some thoughts. It may not be relevant but I don't think you just hand Brooklyn the crown if we reach the finals against BKN.

Giannis shooting 3's is as good as a turnover. I don't get why he takes them. More so, I don't get why Budenholzer allows him to

Re: Around the NBA - Other Playoff Series
The Giannis 10 second free throw controversy cracks me up. What could he possibly be thinking/doing for 10 seconds to be necessary?
JVG and Mark Jackson were talking about how the 10 second rule gets ignored all of the time, but I can't think of anyone who takes 10 seconds just about every time they shoot a free throw. I don't care much whether or not it's enforced, but it is pretty ridiculous how long he takes.

I definitely think we should put Ayton on KD. He'd be a waste on Griffin. I'd put Bridges on Harden and CP3 on Kyrie.

I'd be a little worried KD would put Ayton on skates. Ayton's a good defender, but he tends to sink a little bit defending the perimeter and you can't give KD an inch. Nothing wrong with giving him more opportunity to protect the rim off-ball by guarding Griffin.

He is thinking,"I wonder how many times Karl Malone got called for it."

I know. I'm just trying to see how we match up. I want to do the same with the LAC/Utah series.
I'm not worried about the Bucks. Watching this game, I really believe we'd win that in 4 or 5. But they will be lucky not to get swept by Brooklyn.
They already blew a 21pt lead tonight and I fully expect them to lose this one in the end. They just don't look good.
Taking unnecessary 3's early in the shot clock.
I do hope the Bucks can take a game or 2 in this series. Just to make them work a bit.

I love Tucker being fearless. It took years for us to find a replacement in that in Crowder. Every team needs an enforcer.

Re: Around the NBA - Other Playoff Series
I don't really like the construction of this Bucks team. Jrue and Middleton are both better on-ball players despite Giannis tending to dominate possession. The spacing doesn't feel right, teams don't care about Giannis hanging out on the perimeter, and I'd let Lopez shoot as many 3s as he wants if he's out there until he shows he's hot.
I'd be interested in seeing Giannis in more of a point-center role. Surround him with shooters, stick him at the elbow and have him run dribble handoff options, face up and attack, or run quick pick and roll/slip options that he can make plays out of. An undersized 3-and-D PF like Jae Crowder would fit well next to him in that position.

This is probably why they'll find a new coach if they lose this series (bad). They don't seem to make the right adjustments.

Another near turnover by Giannis (3pt attempt). Ball went out on BKN

Re: Around the NBA - Other Playoff Series
Giannis shooting this many 3s blows my mind. He's giving the defense exactly what they want. Someone needs to explain to him that a 30% shooter taking 6 3s is not a good thing.
edit: well, he was bound to make one eventually

Middleton needs to run the offense with Holiday. I would treat Giannis, on offense, the way we do DA. Don't let him create...he can't.

Re: Around the NBA - Other Playoff Series
Bucks don't have something to give their OWN players a heads up that their shot clock is about to expire. So dumb. You stay silent if it's the opponent who has the ball. Not your own team
