Ulis is going to be a fan favorite next season, so much heart and hustle. Unselfish player but isn't afraid of the big shot and the big moment. That strip defensively was awesome too. Murray was lucky to get that ball back.

Ulis, Warren, and Chriss are going to feast off that bench. The off ball movement of Warren plus the lobs to Chriss, yes please. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if Warren is starting after the all star break, Tucker will be traded next season for sure, especially if the plan is for Bender to be a 3.

Curious to see how McMully handles the glut at guard situation.

I like him but if I had to pick a guy without a roster spot it would be Troy Williams. Not only is he explosive and a super athlete but he can hit 3s. That combo is nice.

I want Kuric and Williams. Williams could even end up being a solid starter down the road although that's probably a long shot. Kuric is perfect for that end of the rotation 3 point specialist. I think it's time to move on from Archie. I'm not saying he's never going to develop, it's just not likely to happen with us. And even if he turns the corner this year I'm pretty sure we've burned our bridges with him.

I agree both Kuric and T Williams should get the camp invite. They should get every opportunity to compete for a spot. If they beat out Goodwin and Jenkins so be it. Jenkins and Kuric are way better shooters than Goodwin which is why I believe Goodwin gets the ticket to Europe. Probably should only keep one of those guys because we are heavy at the guard position.

I would love to do two 5 man rotations.

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Bender looks like a three to me. He will never be a go to scorer, but he will make the right play. Honestly the AK47 comparison seems about right. Bender can be an elite defender from what I have seen. He should be able to guard 1-4, will never be able to play 5, he gets pushed around way too easily.

I could see him as a fringe all star at the three a few years from now if he realizes his potential. His real value will come in the playoffs though if we ever get there. Bender, out of all the players on our team, has the most potential to be a huuge matchup nightmare. You just don't see many 7"1 guys that can move their feet like him defensively.

Also I'm not convinced Ulis is just a backup PG. His offensive ability is fantastic, and his defensive ability is shockingly good for his height. Much better than IT's defense ever was. IMO his ceiling is higher than IT's and much higher than everyone seems to think it is. Really feels like we got the steal of the draft.

The only thing Might Mouse has over Ulis is a sturdier frame and no red flagged hip issues, also he is a fantastic finishing through contact and can make mid air adjustments/circus shots. AK47 was even longer than Bender plus he had actual wing athleticism/ quick twitch explosiveness above the rim

He isn't. He'll start for someone before too long, he's just too good not to. His size will always be a liability but unlike most little point guards, he still surveys the court well and he brings enough other qualities to the table to offset being small.

Yeah Ulis will never be the finisher/scorer that IT is. But that is okay, as long as he can be a better defender and floor general I would prefer him over IT.

And yeah the AK47 comp isn't perfect, but it's the closest I can think of. AK47 also seemed tougher than Bender.. better rebounder. I just really haven't seen a player like Bender before.

There's still so many of you judging our guys after a week of Summer League play. There hasn't been a training camp. Are you aware that Ulis is older than Booker? If we're going to dump on our raw 18-year-old prospects all day every day then I think I'm going to bail for a while. I know the board in general is myopic, but Christ on a cracker....

Seriously. This is the place for optimism.

Bender and Chriss have had some very good moments and a lot of not so good moments. But you can see where they're headed and it looks like they can do it together.

It seems most posters here are pretty high on them. I guess I wasn't in the thread much during the game so I might have missed some negativity. It seems like the only people short sighted that I've noticed as of late are diddy and saint.

AK47 is one of my all time favorite players, he was a perennial 4X5 threat and his peak surapssed Marion's, he was a Top 10 player in 2003-2004 despite being unable to create his own offense because he was such a dominant stopper, leading a Jazz team who's next best players were Matt Harpring and Carlos Arroyo to a winning record. He was a unfulfilled Hall of Fame talent, hopefully Bender can become a more consistent Detlef Schrempf another high intangibles guy

If my memory serves correct, when I used to lurk here, a fellow named BurningHeart (I think..may be wrong?) used to provide some entertaining pessimism. Actually..his posts where probably the reason I didn't sign up sooner, it was too much negativity for me too handle. [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

Was it you who responded when he was brought up earlier and I mentioned that when Nash went to the Lakers, or maybe shortly thereafter for some reason, he said "I'm done with this team" and you (or someone) responded "Wow, someone who actually said that and followed through on it." Though about that time I looked up an old post, looked at his user profile and it said he had last logged in within a day or two ago, so I think perhaps that heart is still burning.

Well I don't know if too much hope is a bad thing. I've mentioned what I expect from this team this season, but hoping our young guys pan out into something good can't be considered a bad thing can it? I mean we all knew that Bender and Chriss were two of the more boom/bust type guys in the draft, and they swung for the fences with picks. Rather that than safety with limited upside imo.

For his sake I hope the fire is cooled! If you are raging at every little thing that goes wrong, you need to take a huge step back. If that's what he did, it is definitely best for him. This is just entertainment after all...sorry to hijack the thread guys!
