For me Doncic is a sure fire nro. 1 for any team, but like the fit also for us. Young comes in second, then have Ayton and Jackson pretty much tied for 4th. Really like Porter, but the injury is a concern and not in love with the fit for us, but still probably take him over Bagley and Bamba.

Just need to see more of Doncic's 3 point shooting he's 15 of 58 past 6 weeks.

As the main ball handler he takes a lot of iso 3s struggling to create seperation.

Good read. Oh my those clips of doncic passing are so pretty. Dude has such an outstanding feel for the game. Its super impressive what he's doing in europe at his age. I'm sold he's my no hesitation number 1 pick.

Ayton is the pretty clear 2 IMO. After that it's close. This draft looks super nice. This top 7 is stacked and sexson and both bridges are nice prospects.

Yeah, Young had gotten up there very close to Doncic for me...like 1B to his 1A or almost even, but it's tough to deny Doncic when you think about him, watch him and realize the level of competition he plays against....and how even with all those much older and experienced players in a the second best league in the world, he's still the best player and alpha dog despite being 18. HIs bbiq and passing is off the charts.

I will say, watching Young today I was very impressed with his court vision and passing. I'm convinced he's a great shooter despite a bad game...and it was disappointing to be at a game he shot so poorly, but it didn't concern me. The way he could throw a pass full court to someone right under the basket for an easy lay in or just see guys way down the floor and throw the perfect pass was really impressive.

So Young is 2 on my board. After that it gets tough. Theoretically I think we need another go to guy and would say Porter, but I see all of our forwards progressing, and the hole at C so it comes down to which C. I guess you have to go with Ayton. Bamba was impressive to watch but he just didn't seem to have a ton of impact on the game. He is pretty skilled around the basket though and although he is thin, I don't think he'd get pushed around a lot. I need to see more of JJJ, but I probably lean JJJ over Bamba.

For me it's probably like

Doncic
Young
Ayton
JJJ/Porter
Bamba
Bagley

I could probably make cases for any of the 4/5/6 guys to be in any order...if we pick for need Porter would be last of those three, but BPA it's Porter so it might be stupid to pass on him there. We need shooting so bad, that's why I like Porter and JJJ more than Bamba, but Bamba could be great defensively...but I have to wonder...is he better than JJJ in that regard? And JJJ had 7 blocks today to Bamba's 1.

Ayton's lack of D worries me....especially with some of the lack of D guys that have come in. But he has the tools, and Towns being one of the worst defensive C's in the league last year has really turned it around there and he still was a stud just for the offense.

If Ayton can convince me he can be like Towns/Embiid, he'd probably have to be at least 2.

I lean ayton over young because to me he's the ultimate swing for the fences pick. Ayton is just so physically gifted if he polishes up a few parts of his game he's going to be a good damn problem. There just aren't many humans built like him.

Bamba has some home run appeal too. He's a little raw and scary and with the guys he's up against I could see him slide a little.

At least the missed free throw wasn't the difference and Ayton made a big time defensive play.

Drafting a big man ahead of Doncic and Young in an era where big men are largely irrelevant could be disastrous.

Ayton and Bagley are the only "big" men I would consider to draft from this pool.

Ayton would be a double double center with rim protection, which is key... look at Capela, Gobert... not to mention the elites such as Towns, Davis, Cousins etc.

Bagley would be a Chris Bosh reincarnate... would be fine in today's game as well.... since he's very skilled and can score in many ways.

I hope that Trae Young drops to us with our pick, and we get Mitchell Robinson with Miami pick.

Then tank again and get Bol Bol in 2019

and trade for Aaron Gordon!

That's a no-go. This should be the last year of the tank, as we'll have a top5 draft pick where the top 6-7 are projected at least solid NBA starters, and 3-4 of those guys are in the positions needed by us. Plus we have another 2-3 first round draft picks (this year or next, depending how they convey, with our 2019 pick), and 3-5 2nd rounders (this year plus next), as well as a couple young guys and fairly large cap space, that the management said will use. So again, last year of the tank, we should be fighting for the playoffs next year.

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Trae Young takes on Jevon Carter again tonight would be massive if he can show he can produce against physical defenders as he's been held by Carter, Sexton and Brown recently.

top50 by stepien's with my combined realgm/hoop-math metric.

PS: G - combo guard (first row compared with PG's in his age range and next one with SG's)
GF - swingman (first row compared with SG's in his age range and next one with SF's)
F - combo forward ( first row compared with SF's in his age range and next one with PF's)
FC - versatile big (first row compared with PF's in his age range and next one with C's)

Young is the real deal. You put him on a team with players who can score and he just provides so much gravity. His only liability in the NBA will be defense and he does get two steals a game which is more than most highly rated college defensive guards. His game translates.

I called him to be a super prospect and I'm somewhat disappointed with him.
No doubt about his fire and athletic ability, just seems like his game doesnt work really well in the NCAA.
