well, better hope the Hawks don't renounce Hardaway and sign KCP - went to college in Georgia

If the Nets get shut out for KCP and Otto Porter - Brandon Knight looking pretty good right Sean Marks :)

Lowe mentioned that too

Perhaps brilliant by default, I hope McD/Sarver continue to lie in the free agency weeds. Doing nothing seems more and more the right thing to do....

I agree that its wise to be impatient rather than get in this mess. Reading Zach Lowe - he said last year when the NBA increased the cap - it was almost like they increased it way too much as teams had money to spend so they spent it. Case in point, Orlando spent 17m per year on Bismack Biyombo - like 68m for 4 years or maybe 51 for 3. But Patrick Patterson, a good player - got 16.4m for 3 years. The Blazers just spent up the wazzoo. So this year, dollars are back to normal. Than again, I give you Tim Hardaway Jr

The NBA should have almost staggered the cap increases as its affecting this group of players

As for this offseason - keep being patient. Get players on low cost, one year deals. And again, for those teams with luxury tax concerns, take on contracts that benefit you. Aldrick for a draft pick type deals.

Len might be lucky to get Alan Williams money on a one year deal. Williams was offered 20-24/4 per Gambo. Ainge might take a run at him as a low cost rim protector. Still might have to clear a bit of cap space. Len might get a deal like Muscala, one year opt out.

Yes, Danny - we will take Marcus Smart in an S&T - thank you very much

I like to think of it as front office Darwinism. The bad FO teams will be stuck with awful deals because they didn't understand how this stuff will play out.

The good FO will hold back, let the idiots kills themselves, and we'll be in GREAT financial future for years to come.

At this point, you have to wonder if it wouldn't be better for Alex to go overseas in order to best grow as a player.

I'm not eager to kick him off the team, because he's useful. And if it's just about money, I'd be happy giving him a fair deal. But I think Dragan and Alan deserve a shot at Alex's spot in the rotation.

KCP seems quite overrated. He's not a good shooter...40% overall and 35% from 3, but that's his best year from 3. He was under 31% the previous year. He's a pretty good perimeter defender, but not great enough for a huge contract imo. I guess if he could continue to improve his 3 pt shooting, he could be decent. None of his advanced stats look good. Even a simple stat like PER, where 15 is average, he got a 12.8, which was his best year.

Someone will sign Alex if we let him go and he can get a really bargain deal. The bigger names have to get signed first though. I do wonder, if Williams wants to stay, why he hasn't signed. Perhaps for the reason I just mentioned, but some teams may be talking to him. He may use it to try and get more money with the Suns.

I wonder if Mr. or Mrs Hoops Hype is hearing things now that the signings are done, teams can re-assess (the Nuggets, possibly the Clippers as they are going b**ls out) and now the trade market opens

Because Bledsoe as a trade possibility has been out there

I am not eager to kick him off the team but like you said, would prefer Dragan, Williams, Chriss get minutes. Len probably should go overseas - build up his ability

Granted if Tyson is traded for whatever reason, would be a good fall back. Than again, there will be Cole Aldrich or Zaza out there for cheap bigs

Perhaps instead of your Cole Aldrich, and "dump Brandon Knight to help teams wanting to dump contracts" deals, you can think of a worthy Bledsoe to Denver deal.

They wanted very much to do just this, promised the Players Association that they would still receive the same money and the PA refused. And the league can't do it without PA approval.

Wow!!!! Detroit basically saying "F-UUUUUUU!" to KCP and his scumbag agent - Rich Paul.

I can't believe they are letting him walk for nothing!

We had a few silly silly deals being handed out the 1st day of free agency, but most teams (other then the dumpster fire Knicks) have been pretty restrained.

I hope that is not gonna happened ever. As much as I don't like Kieff his brother is way worse and utter trash. Wiz got "drug" duo already with Mike Scott and Morris.
I am counting he breaks Celtics from the inside :)

Already have a couple options - just depends on how much long term cap the Suns want to take back'

OPtion 1: Faried and first for Bledsoe

Option 2: ARthur, Nelson and 1 for Bledsoe - I don't like Mudiay - saves you some cap space

I like option 2 better as Nelson can be PG this year to allow time to groom one.
