Atleast we had a few young promising players that season in Amare, leandro, JJ, Casey Jacobsen and I hadn't given up on zarko at that point yet.

'03-'04 was actually one of my favorite seasons to watch, seeing all the youth develop. I remember JJ impressed that year. But this will be worse. Like has been pointed out, no JJ, no Stat, no Marion type players. Too bad we haven't been drafting well the last 4 years! Next year will be long. Really f@&%!#$ long.

Agreed. After the Marbury trade JJ and Amare blew up. Really gave me hope for the future.

Why do the Suns close draft workouts to the media?!

Like seriously, they can't even make the ******ing playoffs, let the fans have at least something to watch or talk about!!

Ross and PJ for sure but i'm still not feelin' Waiters for some reason...

Rivers/Waiters is interchangeable for me. Both undersized (Waiters more so) SG who will have issues with defending NBA 2's.

Rivers at 6'5, 205lbs is undersized?

Wow.

I know right?

That was pretty much the main knock on him going into the combine. He surpassed his expected numbers there, yet they still want to label him undersized.

Its gonna be great. He's one of those players that you either love or hate. He has a lot of haters, but its just because hes that damn good. He will end up as the next Kobe. :D

I think a Chalmers-Rivers backcourt would make Kerrsed explode.

Haha what. The combine proved he has the lowest reach and worst bench press of any SG that was there. It did not help his stock at all.

Well, Austin Rivers is a little bit undersized, he is 6' 3.5" without shoes, like Tony Allen for example or 0.025" smaller than Wade, but I think there are too many players around that eight ( O.J. Mayo/Reggie Williams too) who are very good shooting guards or combo guards, so I think that will not be a real problem.

How tall was Joe Dumars and Anrew Toney? How many times did Durant bench 180lbs?

Rivers height isn't an issue.

I really think Rivers is a little bit small to play SG in the NBA, but I also think that his desire, knowledge, confidence, family staff and, over all, game, would make him a great player in the L.

I am happy his mesurements were not as bad as expected (by some), neither as good as expected (by others). I would say that leaves the player in a position where he could perfectly fall to our position. And then we should take him.

I am really tired of the Clark, Lo'pez, Morris, etc type of players, with no risk at all. You draft a nobody, so you do not waste anything if the players ends up being a nobody. As much, they could be decent role players, which is what Morris will end up being.

Let's risk a little bit for one f****i*g time and pick Rivers, Perry or any other player that could turn into a star, should the right conditions arouse, but please let's do another save pick, of which we will be getting very little use during the next years.

I'm on the Waiters bandwagon (I still love you Kerrsed) and I found this article enlightening:

While Waiters has been somewhat of a mixed bag on the offensive end this season, the same cannot be said for his defensive performance, where he's been one of Syracuse's most effective and disruptive defenders this season, as chronicled in great depth by SI's Luke Winn. (link below)

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/luke_winn/02/07/Syracuse.defense/index.html

Waiters is extremely aggressive on this end of the floor, extending Syracuse's zone well beyond the college three-point line, being constantly in motion, and frequently picking off balls in the passing lanes to fuel his own transition game. He does a great job jumping out to contest shots and shows very good hustle and focus overall. Waiters also does a good job using his strength to get over picks on pick-and-rolls, and works hard to stay in front of his man on the rare chance he sees a true isolation in Jim Boeheim's zone, but as always with Syracuse players, it's tough to get a perfect handle on this aspect of his game from a scouting perspective.

With that said, considering his physical attributes and aggressiveness, it's not difficult to see him being capable of guarding both guard positions in the NBA, which should give his team plenty of versatility to work with.

For those interested, here are the measurements for the top 5 SGs in the draft. Waiters did not participate, so his were taken from previous measurements.

Yea. At thirteen, we are not going to find a complete player so why get a guy who is avg. at everything?.....we always lose that way; look at Faried. We (I) didn't wan't him because his offense sucked....he only rebounded extremely well and played D!!

at 13 we should pick the guy who excels at something....

Waiters...... is cool at everything (scrappy) and ok on defense
Ross...........avg pretty sound offense and tall.
Lamb...........very good offense all around
Rivers..........an offensive beast. YOU CANNOT STAY IN FRONT OF HIM!!! Give me that guy

Considering we are going to suck, who would be the most fun to watch out of these player?!

It seems Waiters may have a promise from the Suns.

^Apparently it's been updated with some execs saying that it's the Suns. Still a rumor, but not the same.

I can hear Kerrsed crying all the way from Sedona. It is interesting that they mentioned a deal with Toronto for #8. Total speculation but Dudley and #13 for #8?
