SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

In "Regularized Adjusted Plus-Minus" (RAPM), the goal is to provide more accurate results by employing a special technique called "ridge regression" (a.k.a. regularization). It significantly reduces standard errors in Adjusted Plus-Minus (APM).

Conventional adjusted plus-minus is shown to do a poor job of predicting the outcome of future games, particularly when fit on less than one season of data. Adding regularization greatly improves accuracy, and some player ratings change dramatically. The enhancement with the RAPM is a Bayesian technique in which the data is combined with a priori beliefs regarding reasonable ranges for the parameters in order to produce more accurate models. That is what ridge regression (a.k.a. regularization) does.

Wasn't sure that was it until..

It's impressive that JD is on that list that high. Not surprised about Rubio, which is why I always think it would be crazy for Minnesota to trade him. Plus him and Dunn both have injury concerns.

Hello Suns fans,

I'm playing in a fantasy draft over on the games board right now and decided to just have fun this time around building one of my favorite teams to watch growing up. That team is the SSOL Suns.

I am trying to create a modified version but at the same time keep the real life team intact for the most part. Here is my current roster so far..

PG: 05' Steve Nash
SG: N/A
SF: 07' Shawn Marion
PF: 16' Draymond Green
C: 05' Amare Stoudemire

I like the Draymond addition a lot because I wanted a 4 who can take the playmaking load off of Nash's shoulders, has excellent defense to make up for the lack of Stoudemire's, and can get out and run in transition and space the floor.

What do you guys think so far? Yay or nay on the Draymond Green addition? Also, should I draft Bell or Johnson for the SG spot?

I like it. As much as I have come to not care for Draymond Green that much, he would have fit in perfectly with that team with the way he plays. I don't know that he would need to necessarily take the load off Nash's shoulders but he would just be another great passer in the flow, and play great D, rebound, hit the 3, etc. What available SGs are left? What does one of the other better teams in your opinion look like?

There are still plenty of shooting guards left but I want to keep this ssol suns team as close to the real life version as possible so I'm either going to take Joe Johnson or Raja Bell. I'm leaning toward Raja Bell because of his defense and he doesn't take as many shots as Johnson which is important in a FGA restricted fantasy draft.

There are same insane duo's and trio's in this game this time around though. MadNESS probably has the best with Wade, Barkely, and the Admiral.

Yes, as good as rebounders as Marion and Green are, they are losing that battle on the boards. Though both Wade and Barkley are iso players. I don't think the fit would be as good. KJ had to change his game when Barkley joined on and his stats suffered, and we watched iso instead of SSOL type ball often. Both Wade and Barkley do that. Plus neither have range. As good as that team sounds, with today's rules and the way the game is played today, they would have a tougher time than you would think if they played now.

Every championship team since I've been alive (1983) has had a Big 3 made up of:

3 Players with All-Star Appearence
1 of these 3 Players with All-Defensive 1st or 2nd team
1 of these 3 Players with MVP votes

At some stage during their career.

Warren had a 77 rating last season, I think he is gonna have exactly the same this year.

I am OK with every rating except for Ulis...he needs to be at least a 72.

Have no idea.

I guess draft number is main factor in rookies ratings.

Celtics have the same weird 3PT ratings. They'll fix it I guess.
