Is it confirmed Fultz is who Colangelo wants?

My vision of the situation...

Philly picks Fultz. Lakers picks Ball. Ainge picks Isaac . He surprises a lot of people (another time) and drafts a two-way player that can effectively play PF, shoot the ball and he is a rim protector.

The Suns add Jackson. Sacto picks Fox.Orlando picks Tatum.

Pretty much. Fultz is the clear cut #1 guy in the draft. Great all around PG whos game isnt that reliant on being the primary ballhandler, and can be a secondary distributor to Simmons. He plays good defense and is a good shooter/scorer. Pretty much the perfect guy for Phillys PG needs.

Yeah, I think there is a decent chance the Celtics pick Isaac.

However, if they offered the Bulls #3 and the Brooklyn and Lakers picks next year for Butler that would be hard to turn down if you are the Bulls.

I mean think...Boston could potentially get like Jackson, Doncic and Ayton.

I guess Jackson would be right behind Fultz on our list?

Fultz, Ball and JJ are still going 1,2,3, imo.

IDK, report out yesterday was that a GM with intimate knowledge of Ainge (cough..cough McD cough) was talking about how Jackson is an Ainge guy through in through and a Celtics type of player. I think that report was shrugged off as no one figured they would take him at number 1, but now with the reports of what looks to be them sliding down to #3, i think McD...er, i mean the anonymous GM was 100% correct and Jackson is their man.

Philly- Fultz
LA - Ball
Boston - Jackson
Us - Issac or Tatum

If we get Jackson then would we consider this draft a success?

Well he's #2 on most people's board in the big board thread, but if Philly decided they were not happy with him enough that they would rather give up #3 and two firsts, including the unprotected Lakers 1st, and then the Lakers were not impressed with Jackson, that concerns me a bit.

I can't even remember. Did the Suns work out Jackson?

I mean if the top 3 were Fultz, Ball and Isaac you kind of have to take Jackson, though we obviously like Tatum, so it would be one of those two.

Zack Lowe said it was one future first along with #3. Either the Lakers 18 or Kings 19 pick.

Obviously I know you are Team Isaac by looking at your sig, but do you have him higher than Jackson? Would you rather Jackson or Isaac go at 3 in that scenario? Boston is the only other team that I know of that has worked out Isaac.

Yeah, but that was just speculation from a GM. Although it has been reported that he was in real consideration for the #1 pick. If they DO really like him, they probably heard that the Lakers were not impressed and then decided "hell, we've pretty much got nothing to lose" by trading down and can get extra assets...that is if they had him equally rated with Fultz.

Boston fans are not happy because he can't shoot and they really like Brown, but he can't shoot either....and then of course you got Marcus Smart, who also can't shoot. So every year they pick defensive stoppers. Though you get a few stars like Griffin to add to Horford and IT or possibly trade 3, the Lakers pick (or Sac pick, whichever it is) and the Brooklyn pick next year for Butler, they are set.

IT/Butler/Crowder/Griffin/Horford

Of course they can't afford all that and would have to clear a ton of salary.

I'd rather Isaac due to his versatility, attitude and shooting %. Jackson is a nice player who is more ready but I just think he has a broken shot. Since JJ is more ready for the NBA next year, I think and hope the Cs take him if they do indeed trade down for 3. If we end up with JJ, I'd be happier about it than I was about drafting Len, Kieff or Marshall, though.

Maybe its just spending too much time looking at these dudes but I'm almost at the point where isaac and tatum are 2 3 on my big board after fultz.

I know how you feel. But the only reason I am suddenly more concerned with Jackson is because if Boston REALLY liked him and would have taken him #1, then they are risking moving down. And then LA said they were not impressed. Boston must be ok with three players so I imagine the 3rd is Isaac. No one seems too high on Jackson on the Boston board..I saw someone say Isaac is a better fit for them.

Jackson might be a better fit for us but he obviously has more red flags. I think Boston is high on Jackson but they may decide Isaac makes more sense due to his versatility and he can play big. They obviously have Crowder and Brown at 3 already.

Then again, they are now bringing in Dennis Smith. I think if they don't trade that pick for Butler or something they may end up moving down again to 5 or 6 or even 7 or 8. You KNOW Thibs would love Jackson.
