That's brutal for Josh...the whole writeup...but especially this..
No player in NBA history has played that many minutes in a season with worse offensive and defensive ratings.

And then Terry Rozier as next in line after Josh.

But you are right, all the PGs listed were mentioned, half the SGs...none of the SFs, one of the 3 PFs....of course all the Cs were ex Suns....then the last part with Josh and Rozier...and even Tyreke, who I and others had mentioned last offseason was pretty disappointing as well.
Len being in that list surprised me. Thought he was decent with ATL but I guess his rebounding and D rating was down from previous years.

The line about Jackson posting the worst combined O and D rating EVER is really something. I don't think most quite appreciate just HOW terrible Josh was early this year.

Woj confirmed his initial report about Bowers today. I guess Gambo had the deal done a couple days ago.

Obviously waiting for the season to end for the .org chart to be finalized.

Joerger getting fired
Luke might get fired
If a guy like Stotts flames out maybe he is out there

So the final Igor decision could take time

Don't know why people are surprised that Divac fired Joerger after he guided a young Kings team to their most successful season since 2006. Remember Divac is the same arse clown that cost the Kings a NBA title by smacking the ball straight into Horry's hand and he of course hit the game winning shot instead of just collecting the rebound

I can't blame Divac for the slap. The game is hectic and you aren't processing thoughts when a play moves as fast as it does.

So does this mean Bower would be president and Jones the GM? Or is Bower out now?

Are you asking if we hired Bower yesterday, and then fired him today?

Which would be the most suns move ever lol

But to answer darkhawk- Jones is in charge and Buckstein and Bower report to him.

Good little summary of how trades can work from now through 7/1.

I remember watching that game and was in a bar in San Diego pulling for the Kings....that was SO deflating, knowing the Kings would have gone up 3-1 with games 5 and 7 at home. The bar was going wild though.

Regarding Igor, I hope he stays for continuity if nothing else. He was one of my top candidates when we hired him and I think he still has a chance at being a really great coach. Speaking of candidates from last year, I also really liked Steve Clifford (thought Charlotte was dumb to fire him). Clifford brought the Magic into the playoffs this year and has the team playing better than the sum of its parts, so I'm happy for him. I don't think that he would have made a huge difference for our team, but his experience is clearly shining through for the Magic.

On the topic of the Magic, with them making the playoffs I think the chances of Aaron Gordon being traded become extremely low. Especially before free agency starts and they find out what happens with Vucevic. They probably look to build on this core + Fultz next year.

It doesn't look like the Suns brass have announced Bower. Only Woj.
But I thought Bower was going for a GM role. Apparently he's president with Jones as GM. That's why I asked if we decided on Jones instead of hiring Bower.

He's a center, the only thing that should be on his mind is to rebound

Weird they don't have it on their front page. Have to click 'news' to see it.
I hope there is a presser at some point.

I don't mind this. Keep Jones in the higher position to keep the players happy in this superstar controlled league, but hire a X's and O's guy to come up with trade ideas and draft picks.

This is actually how it should have been structured with McDonough. I loved McDonough's creativity, we just needed someone like Jones as the face of the team and to keep McDonough in line from time to time.

This is what I wrote in the GM thread - or similar:
Bukstein and Bowers can do the dirty work so to speak: scouting, cap, trades, draft

Jones can be the face of the franchise, representing to players, talking on camera, radio shows, etc
Not that he doesn't have knowledge to give input - but it helps to have some people like Bowers who have "been there, done that"

I think Bobby Sarver finally has an org chart that might make sense.

I just hope next season is less depressing than it has been the past few seasons. I hope the front office just takes care of business and doesn't make any statements like "this is the last year of losing, we're making the playoffs" crap. Just put together a good team with a solid plan and start winning.

Did anyone answer someone's earlier question about what Bower has been doing this year and this whether he's up to speed already on draft scouting this class? I remember the question but might have missed the answer.

With Jones you forgot about "buying fans beer at the grocery store".
