Re: The draft prospect tracking thread.
i see a lot of bust potential with these high pick big men (Perry Jones) and some of them are to short. I say the suns stay away from them.

Re: The draft prospect tracking thread.
Perry Jones is a danger pick.... its a 50/50 toss of a coin...
he either "gets it" and start being aggressive and maximising his talents... or he even goes worse, because he gets banged up by stronger players in the NBA...
Some team will take a chance at him.... I'm not too confident the Suns should though...

I swear, now that we are in 8th (draft pick), 1 in about every 7 clicks gives us a top 3 pick!
Anytime we get the 2nd pick, we get Barnes (instead of Drummand).
Anytime we get the 3rd pick, we get Gilchrist.

Well then, if we can substitute you for Stern when it comes ping-pong ball time then happy days are here again!

Re: The draft prospect tracking thread.
A Wiretap article quoting data from Synergy on Anthony Davis' scoring methods.
I'm wondering if that as the draft starts getting very close, teams might begin to re-think whether or not AD is the consensus #1 pick.
I have nothing against AD, and everything I read says draft him if you get a chance, and if not you're an idiot.
Ultimately how he performs in the playoffs will determine where he is drafted. If he plays well, it will solidify his #1 status. If he underachieves offensively in the PO it will reinforce that he might be a bit limited offensively and you could see him slip.

Anthony Davis Generating Majority Of Offense Off Cuts, Put Backs
Feb 17, 2012 6:05 PM EST
Anthony Davis is converting 67 percent of his 2-point attempts, with the majority of his touches coming off cuts, offensive rebounds, fast-breaks, and pick-and-rolls.
According to Synergy Sports Technology, only 20 percent of Davis’ offense comes off post-up, spot-up or isolation plays.
Davis is shooting just 27 percent on jumpshots while connecting on 71 percent of his free throw attempts.

Re: The draft prospect tracking thread.
I can see some teams pass on Davis with the first pick. For example Bobcats, last year they drafted similar player in Biyombo so I wouldn`t be surprised if they pick up their local star Barnes as 1. pick.
Needless to say, It would be terrific if we lucked out in lottery and draft that kid, frontcourt Davis-Gortat would be amazing and Nash (if he stays) and AD would be great in p`n`r.

Davis>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Biyombo.
But I do agree with the LOLcats taking Barnes, but I think they end up with the 2nd pick and pass on Drummond.
SHAZAM!
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Re: The draft prospect tracking thread.
i hope bobcats pass on Davis.
He is a Camby like shot blocker who can rebound and pass like Garnett. Defensive powerhouse.
Exactly what the suns need... Offense will come around but I'm confident he can score 12-15ppg easily... Even 17+

Similar in style of play as they are both projected as defensive stalwarts. And of course that Davis is better all round player.
By his second/third season he can be 17-13-3 player and in 1. all defensive team, imo.

Re: The draft prospect tracking thread.
Thomas Robinson is really starting to amaze me.
If we can get him and then trade for Marcus Morris from HOU, we would have a young front court that has history of playing together.
Robinson, Marcus Morris & Gortat can start together and Markieff can come off the bench for Robinson.

Re: The draft prospect tracking thread.
Robinson looks under size for a 4, he isn't a Milsap type either who is very aggressive and energetic to make up for his lack of size.
Markieff Morris > Marcus Morris in terms of adjusting to NBA. I am not sure if Marcus Morris can be more than a backup forward... Time will tell.
I'd take a chance at John Henson and Perry Jones over Thomas Robinson purely because of the under size factor.... Robinson has been compared to Kris Humphries also...
But I'll take it back depending on his final measurements. If he is a legit 6'10 with shoes and 7'1+ wingspan and verticals Then he might transition well

Re: The draft prospect tracking thread.
I would like to see peoples top 15 players in the draft that they would want. Im talking about ALL players, not just the ones in our draft position. There are a few players ranked rather high that i wouldnt want on the Suns, so it should be interesting to see if anyone elses lists look the same. So, post your top 15 in the order that you would want them!
Im'a start working on mine.
