I am not so sure. I like Parker a lot but can see some teams (Orlando, Charlotte...) passing on him to pick Dante Exum or Marcus Smart instead.

Orlando could definitely pass on Parker to get another guard, it really depends on how Harris and Harkless perform this year.

There's a thread on the general board showing the draft position success rate over the last 30 years (again).
I remember the first time it was posted it showed an interesting stat about pick number 2 being less prominent than pick 3... but now it's posted again so who ever missed it check it out... Although Durant has time to add to pick 2's merits.

Marcus Smart stayed and he was likely a guaranteed #2 pick. Maybe even #1.

Some of these kids actually care about their education.

It's understandable that some of these guys could stay in college, I really don't see anyone doing so. None of the big names at least. They know they will be top 5 picks as of now. An injury means you aren't drafted as high and your starting (and maybe long term) salary will be lower.

If the projected superstars all have good-great years and are guaranteed a top 5 spot, I expect them to make the jump.

The only way that changes is if a player suffers and injury and/or has a **** year and thinks he needs to prove something to improve his draft position.

A top 5 pick is worth what? A guaranteed 30 million in contract and endorsement money? That will easily pay for a college education later on if the NBA doesn't work out.

Staying for another year of school and blowing out a knee is a much less appealing risk.

I'm all for college and education, but it just doesn't make any sense for a sure top 5 pick. If I were an agent or even a parent, I'd be against it.

Too bad, he would be my pick right now if we miss out on Wiggins.

That's ok. Some other young buck or two will come out in 2015 as well and we can nab one of the them with the Laker's pick or our own. That allows us to get Wiggins AND Parker. Hows THAT for rose colored glasses

"Get a life" should never be said by one Internet message boarder to another.

Why? Is it not possible for people who use message boards to "have lives"?

Are you guys actually going to root for PHX to lose every game now, so that Wiggins is within reach?

How can anybody here root against Dragic, Goodwin or Len?

On the other hand, this season is all about developing our young players. If they win - great, if they lose (which is more realistic given their inexperience) they will hopefully grow as a players at least and we pick some nice player in the draft as a consequence.

Kind of reminds me of Amare with his quick first step and vicious attack of the basket. But it looks like his handle is better as well as shooting.

I could go for a young explosive Amare (pre-injuries) type player in a heartbeat. And there is no way that he can be any worse than Amare on defense which is a plus; not that it's Amares fault since nobody ever taught him.
