I loved our draft and while I'm not too excited with our FA signings, I'm glad we didn't overspend on OK FA's that would have not put us over top. I'm glad to see Dudley and LB return as their veteran leadership as well as experience will be a big help to our young squad. Bender, Chriss and Ulis are young as well as talented players and I can't wait to see how much they grow under Watson and his coaching staff in the next couple of years. As far as trades go, I honestly hope we end up trading Knight eventually, I'm fine with him starting so he can build up his value but I don't see him as a key part of our future. I also hope we trade Tucker who I like a lot but with a year left on his contract, I hope we trade him to a contender and get something decent in return. I'm fine with keeping Chandler although I wouldn't be upset at all if we ended up trading him. I know as Suns fans we have had to endure a lot of mediocrity the last 6 years but with these young players we have, I am optimistic that one day we can see our team turn into something special but it will take awhile so I hope fans continue to be patient.

Welcome to the board!

I think you hit the nail on the head. The FA signings isn't anything exciting but that's a good thing. We didn't hand out Kobe money for OK players and the FA we did bring in, they were brought in to be supporting cast rather than the star which means we're looking to eventually move the youngins into the limelight soon enough. I would say that moving Tucker and Chandler should be a priority because they should still be able to net us some good returns while their role with us diminishes as we go into full rebuild mode.

Thanks, I'm glad I finally decided to join after years of lurking. lol

I agree, we need to trade them ASAP, as their contracts should now be more attractive to others teams, especially after the crazy money we have seen spent on lesser players. I'm eager to see what trades we make in the near future and hopefully we continue with the trend of building towards something great with our young core instead of settling for being a treadmill team that picks 13th every year.

As Ashton Kutcher's impression of Steve Jobs once said in the movie Jobs, "I'm not back" to be the voice of reasonably unmanaged expectations based on actual reality instead of downplaying expectations to a minimum on account of excess Prozac. I think he said something like that.

As of now I'm a lurker, so I qualify.

The Suns will make the playoffs. The Blazers suddenly became good when Bledsoe went down for the season because we provided the vacuum. We are more physical, we are a better rebounding team, and I believe we will be better defensively. Bled got hurt, Knight had a sports hernia, Tyson had a hamstring injury. It was the perfect storm for a team that hadn't ever made the playoffs in the Bledsoe era, despite deserving to in 2013-14. (Man, that was a long time ago.)

Anyway, I'm sick and tired of you people always chewing on the scraps that Tom Haberstroh and his lackies throw you. We had a skeleton crew for half the season. It was that simple. Anyone who thinks otherwise honestly believes that a team starting Archie Goodwin, Devin Booker, Alex Len and P.J. Tucker should be expected to carry a team to 41 wins. You're officially ludicrous.

I would bet serious dough on the Suns making the playoffs, but I don't make bets with people. Now you know the truth. #sunstruther

Knick Fan Here

Phoe has so many young guys with potential to root for. Its gonna be fun watching them and Minny try to work there way up to Utah and Portlands level. If Bender or Chriss live up to the hype, along with Len, Warrren and Booker...Watch out

And god help them if they get another stud next year in the lotto.

It will be interesting to see if watson is the man for the job

Good Luck and enjoy the ride

I'm totally a lurker, I only really post when big things happen but I read a lot, enough to feel like I know a lot of the posters here already. Been a Suns fan since the day I was born, it's the duty of native Phoenicians to cheer for their team. Gotta be a Suns fan when you're a Son of the Sun.

Yeah I kind of hate it too, I guess that's why I use it. Something freaks me out about it even though it's obviously fake.

Hey everybody..sort of a lurker, sort of not, I suppose. I don't post as much as I would like to.. I'm a lifelong Suns fan and went to many, many games at VMC as a kid. The stories I could tell...I still have a ton of autographs secured in those days by going down to the floor during the shoot a round and bugging guys. I'm still bitter about one interaction with Moses Malone who went on to drop 52 on the Suns that day.

Expectations for this year: Entertainment. I expect to enjoy watching the team again. I'm hopeful they will just go out, play hard, and learn the game some more. I'd like to see the young guys get their minutes. I don't expect playoffs or even 35 wins, but if they are out their developing their game and learning to play as a Suns team, then I will be happy.

Well we have certainly had some entertainment and what's nice is that it's a different player each night. The rookies in the first game. Warren mostly in other early games, then Booker in a couple, then the rookies, and now Bledsoe, Len and Dudley. I hope everyone keeps taking turns stepping up and that we play team ball and keep the hot hands going on any given Knight and the guys who are not hot don't force up too many shots that take us out of the game that we had become accustomed to.

You think they have a chance to compete with other young teams like Minny, Utah and Portland within a few years? Or the Pelicans?

Well all those teams have dominant Bigs except Port, now the Pels have a Cousins too.

I liken Phoe to the Utah or Portland team. If Lens can be consistent.

Yes, they will play with traditional bigs, and I think in our future we may go with more small ball, maybe with a 3-4-5 of Warren/Chriss/Bender...throw a guy like Josh Jackson in there, it's versatile. Chriss and Bender can both block shots and hit the 3, while Bender defends the perimeter well, and Chriss is a great finisher and the better rebounder.

Time will tell.

With PJ gone, you need a perimeter defender. Jackson makes a lot of sense.

Ball or Fultz would be scary offensively but defensively poor
