Love is going nowhere. That was the whole reason Blatt was let go. From what i understand there was an ultimatum issued. Blatt wanted Love traded for more pieces that fit with what he wanted to do and the FO didnt agree.

So if they were willing to fire their coach, the guy that helped lead them to the top spot in the east, and he wanted Love gone, why do people think that the Cav's will trade him after they already fired the coach that wanted him gone? That does not compute.

Love isnt going anywhere. They will be looking to dump Varejao 1st and foremost, then maybe Mozgov.

Really interesting....Cleveland just hired Mike Longabardi.

Honestly makes us look.....15% worse.

it also fits in with my 2002 Yankees/A's comparison, where the Cavs are the Yanks, and we're at least in the mindset of Beane's A's.

.....maybe Longabardi would be better for a veteran team. I kind of doubt it. sad face

I dont think Cavs will beat Warriors or Spurs if they actually get passed Bulls out east.

Love DOES NOT suit cavs... Where they rely on defense moreso than offense.

Love can thrive in a team that is offense oriented... Beat teams via scoring rather than defense.

Cavs with Lebron need to copy Heat style when Lebron was there.. Basically 5 players who can play one on one defense on anybody... Full court or half court when required.

Disagree. Cavs look like an organization scrambling for some semblance of control. What do they do? They end up hiring the defensive coordinator who was fired, from the 2nd worst defense in the league. The NBA knows that we suck already. If this move makes anyone look bad, its the Cavs.

I can't beleive we almost ALMOST got Kevin Love for Keef + IT last year.

My god. Imagine:

Bledsoe/Archie
Dragic/Booker
PJ/TJ
Love/Leur
Chandler/Len

Perfect lineup balance and perfect blend of vets plus youth.

Would either side do Knight and Chandler (and fillers) for Love (and fillers).

It is amazing how much scrutiny Cleveland is under. There is such enormous pressure on Lebron and the rest of the team to win the title that the players are probably going insane. I cannot remember a more intense situation surrounding a top team before. That team looks like it is not enjoying playing basketball. It is like every game is work as opposed to playing a game. I doubt those players are having fun. Every game they lose people say what is wrong with them and oh there goes their title chances.

That being said, I think they might make a change depending on how they play over the next couple of weeks. I am hesitant to trade Chandler now though considering how great he has been the past couple of games. I also do not think it is a coincidence that he is playing far better without Knight.

The trade that myself and other posters have mentioned of Knight, Markieff, and the return of the Cavaliers pick for Love sounds good for both teams.

Have you EVER seen the face of the NBA go through so many ROOKIE head coaches? You'd think a guy like LeBron would want an experienced veteran coach to come in and COACH one of his teams. You'd be hard pressed to find a team in the last 20 years (not run by LeBron) who's won a championship without a GREAT head coach. But his ego supersedes the idea of him needing to be coached. It's nuts. THIS is why their is pressure on LeBron and this franchise. LeBron THINKS that he doesnt need a good coach to guide him to championships. and now he has to PROVE it time and time again. that's where the pressure on him comes from.

Additionally....I wouldnt say the pressure is on Cleveland, its on LeBron. HE brought in the players he wanted. HE brought in the coach he wants. HE runs the team/franchise. HE has to deliver. In all of my years following the NBA i've never seen on player have such control over a franchise. Its amazing.

productive players and crap teams are considered over-rated when their team loses. Look at Cousins. Just a month ago their was a thread on the GB that called him out as being the most over-rated stat stuffer in the league. Now they are winning and he's an MVP candidate. Likewise, when Knight/Bledsoe went on their late november tear, that back court was considered top 3 in the league.

Underated/bargain contract when you win
Overrated/overpaid contract when you lose.

That's been widely reported and people on twitter who cover the NBA have come out and said the irony here is they very well may lose both, because they believe Love will be traded regardless.

I think a more realistic target would be Brooklyn's 2017 pick. How about http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=h8pj556 with CLE getting its own 1st back, and PHX taking DAL '16 and BKN '17?

Though, frankly, Longabardi's hiring probably makes a PHX trade less likely.

Probably does

I still think Kieff helps the Cavs - but how does the deal work with the Suns getting value

Why? I don't think an assistant coach has power to nix a trade. But I don't think Mike was fired because of a rif between he and players. If anything it might increase the possibility, for he already has knowledge of our players, their habits, and a connection that other coaches won't have from the jump.

I disagree... Put Cousins on the Market, and Sac is flooded with calls... offer up Knight and may be one telegram. Today, Tomorrow, ...and yesterday.

These deals swapping our flawed players for substantial upgrades like Love are pipe dreamer specials. They work in the trade machine, but it ends there. Put Love on the market and much much better offers come up. Boston wants him, they throw Lee/Crowder/2 firsts or a multitude of packages. Kief is an alright piece... but thats it... he's a minimal risk, even with his baggage. Knight has yet to find his fit in the NBA and is on a 54million training package.

If we deal, I think its going to be a swirling three teamer where McDazzle coat tails a bigger swap. If he can move Knight and Kief... I'll tip a hat, but I could easily see both of them on this roster come draft day.

I'd offer up Knight to the Knicks, I think he'd fit quite well there to be honest.

Knight/Afflalo/Melo/Kristaps/RoLo has a good balance to it. Leuer and Calderon would be a nice combo off the bench too with Galloway.

Knight
Leuer

for

Derrick Williams (I dislike him, but slot him in at PF and watch the losses pile up!)
Seraphin - 1yr deal
Amundson - 1yr deal
Jerian Grant - the kicker and why I do the deal. Cheap on his rookie deal and a true pass-first guy, ideal sort of guy to try out over the 2nd half of the season.

Would probably waive Lou and even Williams, though I don't mind Seraphin - but his agent is Rich Paul.

Yuck. We don't need bench players and expirings.

Grant is essentially a 1st round pick - he's a good player on a 4yr deal...
