Hell yes! Just got home and that game was ugly all the way around but glad to see the bench come through and pull it out at the end.

Best moment of the night was when Bender hit that late 3, that was awesome.

Loving Isaiah Canaan right now too. He won’t keep it up, but his offense is nice. So we can only have him for 14 days right? Eff it, release Mike James or trade Monroe, keep Canaanball...

Also, wtf happened when we were up 5, they hit a 3, we inbound the ball to Len (wtf??) and he turns it over, Wes Matthews has a wide open 3 but thankfully he bricked it lol.

Anyways, always glad to see a win in person. We have like 50 games left for team tank to show up.

Oh and the seats I had were perfect. Almost exactly center court like 15 rows up. $179 each, at least that’s what the ticket said. I’ve never had those good of seats for a game so that was cool too.

With this team there should be not tanking strategy. They should come by losses due to their youth, which is fine, IF those guys are developing. I don't mind wins either. It kind of sucks when there is not development and there are wins with guys who are not here. I know you argue lower picks are better, and that are draft picks are busts, so I am not exactly sure what you are hoping the Suns accomplish in these games.

At the same time, I don't mind guys needing to earn their time. They should have to earn it, at least to some extent, so if they get benched for mistakes and the reserves come in and win because of it, so be it.

That is literally tanking. Nobody honestly expects the players to throw the games.

I guess I needed to clarify. I know how you define tanking (playing youth) and how some others do (trying to lose) but my point is we don't really need to call it some sort of strategy at this point because we don't have a team built to win now, particularly after Bledsoe wanted out and was traded and Booker's injury.

Also, when it comes to throwing games, coaches can have a big impact on that by leaving in or removing players playing poorly/well and I don't see Triano with such a strategy. Carlisle might have that one now though the way Dallas seemingly blows games, and of course his career is safe.

Is the Phoenix media this down on the squad after the win?

People are loving how Len is progressing which has taken into his 5th season, yet these same people want to ditch Bender and Chriss after one and a bit seasons for more draft picks so the process can repeat? C'mon guys.

Coaches looking to land the Suns head gig will be looking to work with these guys and develop them. Be patient and enjoy victories when they come. Going for 0-82 is no recipe for success, so try and build a competitive culture and let the guys play. If you're going to bag them for some of their efforts, have at it, but at least be fair enough to give credit where it's due.

But hey keep clinging to your logic, which says Mike James is destined to be all NBA and a potential MVP candidate.

If he just sticks to 3 pointers and shooting at the rim he might not be bad. He's a bit old at 26 but could serve as a backup PG maybe. Probably rather have him in that role than Ulis and James (based on what I've seen the last couple of games).

He's been a passable 3 pt shooter his whole career and more than half of his career shots have been from 3. But I hate when any wins, particularly against other bad teams come on the backs of guys who are not a key part of our future going forward. Kind of pointless.

Canaan can only be on the roster for about 14 more days. He won't be on here after that, and while he's been a passable 3 point shooter, he has been SO atrocious from 2 that his eFG% is among the worst in history for the amount of shots he has taken. Len and Bender are the only true positives about these 2 wins. And they would be every bit as positive if their performances were in losses.

Here are some players whose career eFG% are worse than Canaan. They all happen to be all-stars and some very, very surprising names make this very, very long list (209). Again you spew nonsensical crap based on your opinion and can almost always be slapped down by real world examples.

Just to make it even a little easier for you I pared down this list which includes only two time all-stars (80)

And just one more so it is even simpler for you ... this active all-stars with eFG% worse than Canaan.

By the way, we didn't win this game. The Mavs lost it. They missed so many wide open shots and had such a horrible, Barea-ISO offense, that we really couldn't do much else. It's not like Daniels and Canaan are a defensive upgrade over our youngsters.

Well now. That post was helpful. Not being sarcastic. It was. The comment about his efg thing just did not seem to make sense. He came out of college with a reputation as a very good shooter. It was his pg skills that were suspect. But he seems to have reinvented himself as a pass first guy. Imagine that. A player changing his mentality and passing the ball.

Can you image what would happen if Brandon Knight did that?

So the Suns executed better than a team of veterans according to you. Sounds good to me.

We've won 2 in a row without Book and people are still making travel plans to negativetown.

Ball movement and defense keeps getting better.

The problem is, it's our vets, Lex, and Cannan who have led the way.

Bender is playing well. Chriss is a ghost.

Doesn't make sense to have "I'm leaving" Len and "I'm only here for a month" Cannan to win games for us while Jackson goes 3-15 from the field and Chriss finished with 2 points, 1 rebound and 4 fouls in 28 minutes.

We could be 9/23 and tied with Dallas for the 2nd spot. Instead....

Winning breeds winning. Doesn't matter how we win. The guys feed off of that, which is my biggest problem with the "let's lose every game we can in hopes of drafting the best prospect six months from now" thinking.

Len is in his 5th season and is 24. Hardly a veteran in the traditional sense of the word. I'm happy with his effort and I think he'll stay a Sun.

I agree with this, but only because we have so many talented young players in place. I would feel very different if I were a fan of CHI right now.

I would add that there often isn't a very meaningful difference between the #5 and #8 picks. I did not expect us to remain in competition for a top 3 pick this year in almost any case. I'm sure I'll be excited about the draft even if all we own is the #13. After all, the best players the Suns have ever drafted have been at #9 (Marion and Stoudemire), #13 (Booker) and #15 (Nash).

Why is that a problem? Len is 24 and well, Canaan is 26 but it does not really matter. I don't see Ulis or James any more a part of our future than Isaac. I do know this. Jackson, Bender, Chriss etc will not get any better if there is no legit pg to pass them the ball. Big men are dependent upon guards.

Maybe James but there is no way in hell the Suns cut Devin Booker's best friend from this team when it needs PGs and he actually has upside as a backup.

Canaan is at best a temporary fix. We likely don't keep him beyond 13 days from now, and even if we do, PG will be upgraded this offseason via the draft or FA, both of which have much better options than him.

Return to Phoenix Suns
