Hometown discount ...

Jackson was born in San Diego County, California while his mother, Apples Jones, was serving in the U.S. Navy and lived there until he was eight months old when she moved them to Michigan to be closer to her family.[1][2] In the eighth grade, he was held back a grade due to his passion for basketball overtaking his grades, with Jackson going to Voyager Middle School for his repeated year before entering high school.[3] He attended Consortium College Prep School in Detroit, Michigan his freshman and sophomore years, before moving to Napa, California to attend Justin-Siena High School for his junior and senior year.

Discount?? I am surprised that he got way more than a minimum contract.

Pistons roster is a mess.

That blows my mind. I wasn't surprised he'd get another look in the NBA in spite of all the off court issues but full (room) MLE, guaranteed is crazy. FULLY GUARANTEED

Didn’t the Pistons just hire a new GM from OKC too? Their decision making this summer has been absolutely awful.

Similar to how we thought Ryan McDonough would be great since he learned under a great GM in Ainge, the Pistons were betting that Troy Weaver would be great because he learned under Presti.

Soon their gonna learn the same lessons that McDonough taught us.

Too lazy to look it up what he got from us as a rookie deal as the 4th pick, but I believe that tool will have earned well over 20 mio USD by the time this new contract expires... That is crazy - but I'm pretty sure he will go bankrupt in 4-5 years after he is out the league. Talk about dumb as a rock...

I don't think it's a bad gamble for them. This guy was still projected to be the best rookie in 5 years. He's obviously been humbled, on his 3rd team, and would still be on his rookie contract.

He would be making like $7 million this year. I don't know if Grant will play SF, but outside of him, they only have Sekou (who may be more of PF too) and then Saddiq Bey.

So he has an opportunity to definitely compete for minutes and a last ditch effort to improve. That second year would normally be his first year on a new contract.

It's going to be really interesting how the media handles this Harden situation. It's one thing to ask for a trade, it's another thing to do what he's up to right now. Curious to see if this is finally when a player gets rightfully ripped for pulling this stuff. Could be the start of a bit of a shift from the media generally supporting the player with this stuff.

Not me...can't stand Kyrie and KD. Others are because of Nash and maybe D'Antoni and Amare...I don't really care about that. Those players annoy me..had to root for.

I'm mixed. I can't stand Kyrie but I like Durant. While it sucked from a competitive balance standpoint I really didn't have a problem with him joining GS. He was a free agent so he's allowed to go wherever he wants and I found it hypocritical that the media preaches guys should be all about winning championships but then criticized him for doing what gave him the best chance to win.

I'm rooting for Caris LeVert and the rest of the Bubble Nets. Dude balled out in the Bubble, and tried his damnedest to put Portland away, giving us a chance. I also have KD on my Dynasty team. So, a little bit?
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

It's just cheap. An MVP still in prime joining a team that just had the best regular season of all time and won a championship the year before. A team you nearly knocked out. Sure, players can do what they want, but it's taking the easy way out and just latching onto a team to win easy championships. Not a fan of that. I like true competitors trying to lead their team to win it all.

I felt that way before the absolutely ridiculous burner accounts. Then Kyrie is just full of himself and really out there.

I much more respect a guy like Kawhi, who could have joined the heavily favored Lakers with LeBron and AD, joining the Clips instead to compete against him instead of just helping create a team that would obviously win it all easily.

I love LeVert...have him on my dynasty team. I did pull for the Nets...I wish he'd get traded to Houston now along with Allen and others for Harden...though preferably I'd rather see him somewhere else.

As much as Kyrie being a flat earther makes me want to bash my head through a brick wall, he's one of the most exciting players in the game to watch, and he's consistently good too when he isn't injured. Since he's with Nash and MDA now, I'll be rooting for the Nets to come out of the east.

Only because I want Nash to do well. I don't really care for their players and in particular hope Kyrie doesn't F it up for Nash.
