Man DAngelo Russell is looking terrible. I am definitely not a relibale eye for talent-as I thought he would be much much better

I know its only a few games in but still..... Hes looking like Kendall Marshall out there.


On the other hand... Karl Towns though. Absolute monster. Would not be surprised to see him the best player in the league one day. Such a mature game at such a young age without any weaknesses at all.

Great Pistons board thread....

So when the trade went down we Piston fans heard nothing but horrible things about Marcus mostly from Phoenix fans and some from just about everyone on Realgm. The media didn't think much of it and it admittedly made me a bit nervous.

Well, after having seen him in preseason (especially that tech. We Piston fans love that crap) and now two games in, this guy can fat out ball. To me he's what I hoped we were getting in Josh Smith (I'm sorry Marcus for even putting his name in this thread) and his overall offensive arsenal is nothing short of shocking to me. I've seen him get into the post and work that sucker exactly like Rasheed, (makes sense now knowing how much he hangs out with him) bomb threes, run the floor and dunk, the ability to create space and get his own shot and when we needed a buckets in the worst way he delivered out of the post with the shot clock all but gone.

WOW.

I had no idea that we were getting a player with a complete offensive game, and he can play both the small, and the damn power forward position. Now what truly has shocked me is his defensive intensity, and rebounding skills. Who knew he would get down and dirty and body up like he has? He is passionate on the defensive end of the floor, something we have been missing up front for awhile and it's starting to rub off on Andre.

If he continues to play like this I'll be a very happy Detroit Piston fan. Great trade Stan!

Again what the hell was PHX thinking? Let him Go for a 2nd rounder, pissed off Markieff all for a long shot at Aldridge.

Pistons fans shouldn't gloat about who won the trade.. The trade was done just to make cap room. The Suns swung and miss. Sometimes teams have to take chances. These two will be better on their own too. Where Phoenix lost is the fact that it's clear he has value. They could have gotten a real trade had they seen it I guess.

With the brothers, it's clear they will be better alone. Both players are too similar to have them on the floor together. Marcus works great for us because he is something we lack.. If there were two of him out there it wouldn't work as well.

Everyone knows Markieff can play around the NBA.. This is the best thing that could have ever happened to his brother in my opinion. Van Gundy was a great coach for him to get traded to too.

I'm glad we traded him. I was just pointing out how the perceptions can be so vastly different. Not only did we need to split them up, but we needed to ultimately open up time for TJ Warren, who is our future SF. But having a chip on his shoulder certainly helps. I hope Kieff starts to play as well as Marcus soon though. Like tonight soon.

Yeah there's pretty much no two ways around it. We needed to move him because of all the off-court drama and we needed the cap space. It was a moved we had to make if we wanted a shot at LMA. I don't think any Suns fan is at all mad that Mook is stepping it up for you guys and we gave him up for peanuts.

This is something both parties needed and I'm glad he's balling for you guys.

14/15: 14.9 ppg/6.8 rpg/2.3 apg/1.1 spg/1.3 TO on .507 EFG%
15/16: 16.2 ppg/7.1 rpg/1.6 apg/.5 spg/1.9 TO on .482 EFG%

Dude's the same player he's always been: a league-average guy with a nice offensive arsenal that he uses inefficiently. Some nights he'll play above-average("MOOK MELO!"), some nights he'll play below-average.

We didn't move the guy because he was worthless as a basketball player. We moved him because he's an average basketball player causing an above average amount of trouble.

Gerald Green hospitalized under very strange circumstances in Miami. Heat are not talking. Witnessess say he had to be restrained. Early reports were that he was tasered and arrested, but now it is being denied.
