Re: Official Trade Thread: The Block Is Hot!!
Amare wanting to play for Suns is probably primarily based on the training staff... he could extend his career 3-4 years.
He has been playing well this season when he played.
If he signs, that means McD, Babby, Hornacek are adamant to make the playoffs.... as I said... crazy to think they have a chance against the Warriors... barring injuries, 4-5 games tops.

Who gets the axe to make room? Or is there already a trade in the works that leaves us with an open roster spot?

Maybe a small trade for a pick? Green anyone?
I don't care either way. But it would be interesting if Amare actually lead us to the playoffs.

My question is would you want Demarcus? It would cost a ton because there would be plenty of bidders. To me it's a tough call. He's obviously extremely gifted. But the attitude problems are real and have been with him forever. With that said it's not like he's getting in trouble with the law just seems to be really hard to coach and play with.
I'd probably pull the trigger on getting him and pray like hell he grows up.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'd want him. Guys with his talent don't come around often. But I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt they will trade him. You just don't trade guys like that UNLESS they are going to be unrestricted free agents and you may lose them for nothing. Harden was a little different since they already had two high usage stars and also wanted to avoid the tax.
They'd have to get a killer offer that likely would have to include at least one player that is better than anyone we've got.

I imagine if this is a serious thing then he will take Plumlee's minutes who will be dealt for whatever they can get, even a second rounder.
It seems a little counterintuitive for a rebuilding team but for the playoff goal it makes sense, considering he is unlikely to fumble passes under the basket and can finish plays.
Man, thinking of Plumlee mishandling the ball the other night on the fast break...had he put that in we probably win.

I also don't think we have the right assets to make that trade.

It would almost certainly have to include Len, Bledsoe and a first rounder.

I'm OK with losing Bledsoe but Len I'd be very hesitant to move.
This comment will undoubtedly be sigged when Cousins gets traded to a team that becomes elite and I will be known as the guy who didn't want to trade Cousins for Len.

Do some of you guys still want Cousins? The guy is literally out of his mind. I was afraid he was going to attack somebody during the game this past Sunday.

I understand what you mean, but I don't necessarily think it's counterintuitive for a rebuilding team to make a trade to get older with the purpose of making the playoffs. We have the 3rd youngest team in the league, I believe, and the 2nd least experienced team, making the playoffs could be a huge confidence booster for this squad. Especially after having come close so many times. Getting young guys like Bledsoe, Len, and the Morri playoff experience is a positive for 'building' this squad. Moreover, the playoffs are the perfect stage to increase the trade value of some of our assets, just ask Tim Thomas what a good playoff performance can do for your stock value.

I don't follow him closely enough to know if I feel there are too many red flags, but did see he may some extremely strange comments after the game. As for what he can do on the floor, yes, I'd want him, but I think it's so far fetched that it would ever happen that's it not worth discussing too much. If he was available we'd probably have to gut the team to get him, though I guess even that offer I mentioned would still leave a lineup of Dragic/Green or Goodwin or Bullock/Tucker or Warren or Marcus/Kieff/Cousins
I'm sure most people here would feel that would be too much and most on the Kings side would feel that's not enough though.

Also he isn't going to be taking minutes away from any of our young guys. If we signed a veteran wing for example, then it would bury guys like TJ and Archie into the bench even further. Amare would be likely be taking some of the backup PF minutes which normally goes to Mook, PJ or Wright.
Anyway, as rsavaj already mentioned, we don't have a roster spot so we'll need to make a move before this signing can happen.

Oh, I understand, especially if we were going to get rid of Plumlee anyway. I could see how to some it COULD seem counterintuitive to move on from a young guy to an old injury prone guy, but I think we all know Plumlee isn't going to be around for long anyway. Amare could probably be a nice presence just as a vet for others to maybe look up to somewhat, and the fans would love it. I think it would be fun too and am certainly not against it.

Reminds me a bit of Charles Barkley... plays similar too, except 6'11 version.

If Kieff acted the way DeMarcus acted, he woulda been tossed in the first.

At heard Chris Sheridan mention this guy on Bunkley and Moronda as a guy the Suns will look to sign soon.

Good lord, Amare is our replacement for Len? Is Len out for the year?
I thought he was only being held out as a precaution?
Just concern. Better safe than sorry.
Sentimentally, I'm loving Amare back in the desert but he isn't what we need.
Or is he? Finally someone that can finish easy buckets inside off the pick and roll. Plus hes range out to 18+feet. He'd be very useful against big teams. Ild take him with open arms

Maybe the Suns have a taker for Plumlee at reduced price from the requested future First.
