To get DMo, it would have cost McDraft the Wash pick. We all know how he gets excited by picks. Don't forget his very first deal, if memory doesn't fail me, was GrownAssMan for wash's pick, which ended up #14 ? This time, it feels much better.

I like how McD admitted he wished he handled the Morris Bros situation differently with Marcus.

At least he can admit to it. Glad we got a 1st for markieff this summer main goal should be dumping knight or chandler. Use that money elsewhere

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Draft Rabb, Johnson or Sabonis with Was pick. Get Simmons with our pick. Would be a nice draft.

McD with regards to acquiring young players and draft picks:

Yeah i think its the most sustainable way to build a team long term. If you look at franchises that have drafted well and developed well, they're usually consistently good over time. And it doesn't happen overnight, there’s a development process. A lot of the guys in the draft are as young as 19 years old so it takes time for them to mature and grow. But i think some of the most exciting things on our end and for the fans is to see a guy like Devin Booker at the beginning of his career…If you draft well every year, then you’ll have a consistently good team in time and it will be sustainable for a long time.

Im conjecturing that this is a guy who from the very beginning, wanted to rebuild through the draft. It supports the thinking that it was Sarver who decided to jump the gun and conbuild as opposed to tank when the 2013-2014 season went better than expected. The following decisions that followed were signing IT, trading for BK, trading for Brendan Wright, signing Chandler and going hard for Aldridge. Now Sarver realizes theres no way were getting into the playoffs this year so he relents and greenlights the youth movement. McD can start doing what he has always wanted to do two years ago. Its not all bad though, because getting players like Warren and Booker for the '14 and '15 draft is probably better than who we have gotten had we tanked.

I see a big Problem next year. I don't think that we will get the 1st Pick to get Simmons. And another PF of the draft isn't ready for a starting job i think. I wish we have luck and can get a D-league steal like Whiteside :D

They announced PJ Tucker will be our long term starting PF. He will sign a 5 year deal this summer.

I know I am late to the discussion, but where are all of those loud mouths who said Markieff had no value, media included?

It was the 18th pick. We took Ennis. I believe we had the 14th and took Warren.

We got our power forward for the near term in the Wiz trade. His name is Kris Humphries.

Don't worry, the tank will continue to roll unimpeded.

Wait til the draft analysis comes out and says the Wizards took advantage of the Suns situation and got away with Kieff for a pedestrian 1st rounder.

People on the trade forum, general board, etc. I bet anything we had two other options with first round picks. Likely Toronto, but Masai probably hates McD. I read someone on their forum say McD took Ennis two picks before their pick and tried to trade him for their pick AND Terrence Ross. I mentioned at the time I figured he probably tried to pry something out of picking their player, but someone there seemed to be pretty sure about that fact.

I mean, I like DMo plenty, but he's coming off a back injury and will get PAID this summer under the crazy cap, so it's not the end of the world to get a pick. And honestly, while many hate this draft, I think some guys I like will be available there.

I have yet to speak bad about McD; sure he makes mistakes, but he is no punk and will not be bullied, that says a lot. If you want to deal with PHX, come correct or don't come at all. I love it. Dude is strong in deals. Like a previous poster said, we are setting up right. If Knight looked to pass first, he could but us in a strong position with a top 2 pick. Trade Bledsoe:

Knight
Booker
Ingram/Simmons
Rabb
Len

TJ
Archie
Picks

at worst, Dunn.

we just gotta find the long limbed freak players. 2013 draft was pretty bad but they had two of those freak players in Giannis and Rudy Gobert.

Fixed that for you. I'm a fan of neither but you seriously prefer the Knightmare running the point over Bled who at least looks for teammates? I guess if we want him to be our long term tank commander ...

I was one, up until about a month ago, then started to change my view some; and then the way he played after Horny sealed it, and I figured he'd be worth something when he showed he was just mailing it in. Yeah, that shows poor character, but talent trumps character in many instances, which is sad, I know, but glad he did fetch us a 1st; a decent one at that, and we didn't have to take on a bad contract or give up any assets, to boot. Great trade, IMO, and for Washington as well, as Kieff is easily worth a mid-1st for 29 teams in this league...

I prefaced that with if he'd learn how to pass. He is much younger than Bledsoe and appropriate for the core, but yea, Bledsoe is a better PG without a doubt and Knight is a super chucker and I can't stand him......now.
