Nope. I'd rather take a shot on #8 than Evans.

So nope even if we don't trade for 8?

actually.....i would trade one of our picks for Evans. #13 in a heartbeat. there would have to be a kicker for #4, but i'm not attached to it by any means.

Tyreke Evans 2015-16
25 G
15.2 PPG
5.2 RPG
6.6 APG
48.6 eFG%

not that many 15/5/5 guys out there. i'll take him in whatever shape he's in. Bled, Knight and Reke? Absolutely.

here's the thing, though: 2016-17 is his last contract year.

here's ANOTHER thing: he has the same agent as Knight. (uhhhhhh)

so i really wouldn't miss 4 or 13 that much, but we're not locked into him from a salary cap perspective. we can sign him for half next summer or ditch him. it's definitely worth experimenting......as long as everybody leaves their egos at the door, unlike last time. #pointguarddrama

What the hell? We don't need Evans when we have Knight. We are actually trying to trade Knight in case you missed it

Celts and Sixers trade talk heats up. Philly really really wants Dunn per Tim Welsch. @CSNNE

Simmons/Dunn. Okafor/Noel are pretty much on their way out.

That doesn't solve anything. Evans sucks as a defender. Pass.

I dont know man. I was high on Evans years back, but at this point, he really isnt that good of a defender, really doesnt have the size to play SF, so would be regulated to coming off the bench behind Booker at SG. Sure, he gets a good amount of assists/rebounds for a SG, but he also has to play a large amount of minutes in order to do so. If he plays less than 30 minutes a game, he doesnt do nearly as well. Add in his injury history and the fact that his contract is also only good for 1 more year, and i think Knight holds much much much more value than him.

His advanced stats were especially good in 2014-15. In 2015-16 he compares favorably to Knight across the board. More assists, fewer turnovers, more rebounds, better fg%, better 3pt fg%....actually HAS size. Could play pg if Bledsoe went down.

Perhaps. If I thought Knight could make better decisions with the ball and/or cover at pg if needed, or could play multiple positions, or we didn't have Booker, I'd definitely agree. But I'm not sure. It would depend on injury history and outlook for Evans though.

How about this trade from Trade forum?

Warriors trade Barnes S&T and Kevon Looney for PJ Tucker, Quincy Pondexter, Toney Douglas and Alexis Ajinca
Pelicans trade Pondexter, Ajinca, Douglas, Tyreke Evans and 2017 first round pick for Barnes and Brandon Knight
Suns trade Tucker and Knight for Evans, Looney, and Pelicans' 2017 first round pick

Evans? Wow I can't believe people would really want him. No
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Can we waive both players and keep the pick? Protection?

I rather have Batum over Evans 10 out of 10 times.

Batum is like Iguadala.
Players who dont have to score or take shots, but makes the right play offensively and defensively.

Batume is a true smart veteran that can positively help the youth in Booker, Goodwin, Len and the rookies the Suns plan to draft.

I like Bledsoe but I dont think he can teach the youth much, he is very physically capable but isnt cerebral or tactical. Dont get me started with Knight.

Hi Pelicans fan here. Tyreke at the 3 should really only be domes for stretches.

But as far as why we would want Knight, we have a 2 guards about to expire and we can let the rookie learn for a year. We also have a veery injury prone lead guard so I think it makes a lot of sense to buy low on a pg who Davis can make look way better than he actually is.

I think Knight for Pelicans pick is fair.

Knight is signed for 4 years at 14 million a year.

He would work well with Tyreke Evans, because Evans is 6'5 and a Point Guard in a Shooting Guard's body, whilst Knight is a shooting guard in a point guard's body.

Jrue Holiday brings the IQ.

Jrue Holiday controlling the offense with Knight and Tyreke along with Davis works well in a fast tempo offense that Gentry plans to run.

You guys need a mobile center though. Chandler next to Davis would push you guys top 5 IMO, assuming Davis is healthy.

Here's the most exciting trade idea you'll see this week:

Archie Goodwin for Richaun Holmes.

Trades that envolve so many players are just too unlikely. Teams avoid too much roster turnover.

The IT and Goran Trades in 2015 were taken as "the most hectic trade deadline of all time" (although it included other deals) and involved 6 players total, IIRC

The question is would you do it. Not whether it is realistic.

You a Knight fan then? Tyreke has been better than Knight pretty much every year in the league. Better passer, ast/to ratio, rebounding, bigger. If he's healthy he is better. Much rather have than Barnes.

Tyreke has gotten worse since his rookie year, does not fit anywhere.

I actually think Knight and Tyreke would make an interesting backcourt duo. Reke is a bit like the SG embodiment of Bledsoe.

Edit:

Suns trade Brandon Knight, receive #8

Pelicans trade Jrue Holiday+, receive Brandon Knight

Kings trade #8, receive Jrue Holiday+

Not sure what the + would have to be as the Pels don't have much else. Ryan Anderson maybe?
