Woj is tweeting that the Rockets and Morey are ready to make changes

Read on Twitter

Stein reporting the Rockets are talking about moving Capela

I thought the Lakers would be in on Westbrook if they miss out on other guys; I can see them "settling" for CP3 as well. Those just seem like moves the Lakers would make now with Pelinka, Jeanie and Rambis

Anyway the Suns can get Ball would be excellent.

Lakers get CP3
Rockets get the 6th pick
Suns get Ball
who wants Josh Jackson?

I can see Morey wanting younger players to pair with Harden and reboot that team.

I think we all liked the attitude of Tyler, but there is no way he earned that contract. He is constantly injured, and goes through spurts of terrible shooting. He really has never shown to be a distributor. He has good hustle, but he has a long way to go to earn $19 million.

Also, Tyler's reserve stats are similar or better than his starting stats, so he would be just as good coming off the bench.

I am not stretching Tyler Johnson as I think there is value - unless its for like Kevin Durant

If the Cavs call and offered JR Smith for him plus the Bucks pick - I might listen. Granted, Jones would have to be sure he can replace Tyler Johnson with that cap savings.

I'm not suggesting we stretch Tyler, I am suggesting we offer one of our exceptions for a starting point guard we can get under contract for multiple seasons and bring Tyler off the bench. I think this will keep him playing more games (only 44 games last season), and spend our cap space on a starting PF.

Also, I don't want JR anywhere affiliated with the Suns, even if it is to buy him out.

Kobe is trying to get Kyrie to the Lakers. If there is a deal with NO, I really would like to pry Lonzo as a third team in the deal(AD), but somehow keep our pick this year. Maybe future protected picks and the Milw pick?

JR wouldn't even get on a plane to Phoenix. Its 15m of pure cap space. But to your point - I do think Tyler brings value off the bench. Only one year left . STill need a PG

as for the Lakers - if they get Kyrie and want to move Ball - I would give up the 6th pick for that dude. Easy. No questions asked.

He may have picked it up, already, but it hasn't been leaked, yet.

The only way you can make him renounce it is by offering a longer contract with an overpay in the upcoming years that more than compensates the current one.

So, let's say he would make 19 this year, than 10/year in the market next year. That would be $39/3 years, and we'd have to offer something like $42/3 years. It would save us around $5M this year, but would cost more in the long-run.

You only do this if you have a specific FA that has agreed to join and needs cap space, obviously.

Doing the research on his contract, I read this: http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/17892288/how-miami-heat-guard-tyler-johnson-ended-50-million-contract

To pry him away from Miami, which had the right to match any contract, the Nets phoned Johnson's agents with a ballooning, back-loaded offer -- one that caused him to lie, facedown, on the carpet of their office.

And then flee, minutes later, for the safety of his hotel room across the street. And then call his mother, Jennifer, back home in Mountain View, California, to cryptically exhale, "We did it." And then vomit -- not once but twice -- as the sheer thought of a four-year, $50 million contract caused Tyler's body to revolt against his brain.

This guy is intense.
That story cracks me up, I like Johnson but have to say if you offer a guy a contract that makes him puke with joy you might have overpaid lol. Good for him though.

The Rockets didn't make it far - how would the Suns
I would not like this trade. For the Suns, its not a long term play
I would rather have Conley
and not giving up the 6th pick for CP3 - thats bailing out the Rockets big time

No one and I do mean no one should ever think of trading for CP3 with his age, contract, and injury history. CP3 can be the Rockets anchor to drag them down.

Hoping Kyrie chooses the Nets over the Lakers, keeps him out of the West, and might make getting D’Angelo Russell a possibility. Our backcourt will be very poor defensively, but at least we’d be more exciting.

Whether its Kyrie to the Lakers or Nets
Conley to the Pacers

The Suns need to be that "third" team involved to get a guy like Ball or D'Lo or whomever. Does a team need to trade a player or not bring back a player (like the Lakers with Ball) to get a player they want (Kyrie, RW, CP3) which opens up a potential partner in the Suns.

Yeah, that suggestion got about 68 responses in the negative. And Chris Paul would probably be even more pissed than Suns fans.

The truth is that I would love to watch Chris Paul on the Suns...even at his age.

But his contract is ridiculously high and we don't have too much to offer to the Rockets, so a trade is not viable.

Just not sure CP3 at his age and the 124 for three years is the right player for the Suns at this stage of their program. Let the Lakers be the team to trade for him

Athletic article on the evolution of the PG position. One thing I found interesting is saying the specialization of the guard spots was an 80s and 90s thing and we're kind of going back to a 60s and 70s style where guys are just guards doit a little of everything.
