Nothing Jones has done before justifies saving him from the axe. He had his chances to be a real GM and not a bootlicking yes man, but he's never shown he's fit for the job.

My real fear is that even as awful as Jones is, he'll be replaced with someone potentially worse and completely obsequious to Ishbia. The franchise can't have that. We NEED a true GM who knows what to do and when, not to mention one that requires free rein to do whatever is in the best interest of the team.

I'd accept a package of Thompson/ Washington/ Marshall/ Martin/ Lively/ DAL 25' 1st ( 13th pick)/ LAL 29' 1st.

** Then I'd look to trade Thompson to another team more cheap assets? Maybe trade him to Charlotte for G Williams and CHO 25' 2nd (33rd pick) and NOP 25' 2nd (34th pick).

- 13th pick.
- 29th pick.
- 33rd pick.
- 34th pick.
- 55th pick.

One of the better 2 way players JJ has found in recent years but it's one reason why JJ needs to go because he seems to be unable to find productive 2 way players when other teams have been able to find diamonds in the rough after 7 years as GM.

https://hoopshype.com/lists/nba-ranking-most-successful-two-way-contract-players-ever/

I see Daniel House and DJJ listed in this article but they were signed before JJ became GM right?

James Jones came on in 2017. Derrick Jones Jr joined the team in September of 2016. But Daniel House joined up shortly after Jones became POBO. :D

What’s best for Beal? Why will he agree to be traded anywhere next yr but exactly where he wants to go? Why would he want to stay here another yr and get waxed every night, while getting scorned by fans?

I’d say, he would endorse a buyout stretch… then he could sign anywhere, even dare say a contending team, for a cheap deal. The fLakes would ink him at a minimum, as likely many others.

Being worried about cap space over the next few yrs is trivial. But its a hill several have chosen to defend.

Beal buyout is only an option if the Suns are signing another Star to re-load with Booker and KD.... which sadly is what Ishiba is MOST likely thinking about. Then Suns at best gets into play-in next season.... still doesnt fix the lack of picks and assets. Basically, Suns are going to be the Sacramento Kings until 2032.

Hence keeping Beal and trading KD and Booker for assets and picks is much better.... build a team for 2028-2029 season.

But the Suns still won't be under the cap to sign anybody. Unless under the CBA, buyouts don't count against the cap

I would also trade O'Neal and Allen for 2nd round picks and expirings in 2027. So thats when you can get your cap in shape

Yes agree that's why buy out is stupid

It's happening.
Finally we'll implode this **** and restart.
Hopefully under new management.

Come on guys, I understand your frustration but creating narratives with that answer it's funny. Kobe always talked about respecting fans that way and playing every game like it could be your last game.

It's a way of life more than saying I am gonna ask out.

Yea, it was pretty clear for me from the context that he meant "phoenix fan who came out to the arena and maybe doesnt have the means to see the suns play for another couple years", so dont make it out to be something that its not. I think. In a way it was a very typical "too chiseled" "too much pc nothingness" "say all the right things but dont mean any of it" "wake up from my sleep and i will say the same as i ve been media trained to death" Booker answer that I have problems with.
With that said, if it came true in a way that you guys think I wouldn't be surprised either.

Yeah it's just a politically correct answer as they say. As I said above it's all business. Once Ishbia realizes majority of fans have turned off of Booker and loses keep coming things will change fast. For now it seems there is love coming from both sides. How long that lasts, we'll have to wait and see.

The Suns season is almost at a merciful end. Then it's time to figure some stuff out, including with Bradley Beal.

For @spotrac, I wrote about The Phoenix Suns And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Bradley Beal Contract.

The problem is whatever they do with Beal it'll likely become even more Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Trade in retrospect. At this point may as well keep him for an year and trade him next offseason as expiring. Can't just keep losing assets we already lack(picks which may turn into a good role player like Dunn).

He knows it's business. Just like us.

maybe he was just saying that because it could be the last time he played - -life happens.
Or he knows the team has a rebuild coming and he doesn't want to be a part of it

I think Booker in Detroit next year makes more sense for Booker himself than Booker in Phoenix.

Gambo sayinig it would be a three year rebuild.

Return to Phoenix Suns
