Glad Rivers won't work out for us, I simply don't like his playing style. Like Schmitz said in his video about him, he's skinny and a mediocre defender, he has no midrange game, can't finish at the rim, takes bad shots and isn't looking for his teammates. I don't want another Monta Ellis or Jamal Crawford on my team. Sure, Rivers might have the bigger potential if he can adjust his game, but Waiters can give us so much more right away.

Both of the top point guard prospects, Damian Lillard and Kendall Marshall, will get extended looks here, but we're hearing that it's Dion Waiters who has caught the eye of new GM Neil Olshey. Many teams around the league are now speculating that it's Portland who actually gave Waiters a guarantee he'll be selected if he drops to here, causing him to cancel all of his remaining workouts.

Ah well.

Terrence Ross, welcome to the Suns. I`d be fine with that if Waiters is gone.

Rivers said between himself, his father and his agent, the trio has scheduled just five workouts. Toronto was No. 2. He will also visit Washington, Portland and Cleveland. He has already been to New Orleans.

Nice in-depth article. It sounds like he is trying to call the shots :-? He already has an entourage.. Me, my dad, my agent, me, me, I..... I heard he was cocky, but in a good way.....Nah!! He gave Duke problems and he will give his NBA team
problems, because he thinks he is better than he is. Kobe and Jordan can be cocky, not Austin Rivers.

If that`s the case Lillard should fall into our lap. I am cooled on Lamb lately, after Clark fiasco I am scared of unmotivated, laid back players.

If Lillard falls to us, it's a no brainer. The guy really impressed at the combine (maybe the most impressive?).

I don't think the Suns need to say BPA, but definately best guard available. If that's Lillard, draft him.

Lets not forget, there is always someone that falls for no apparent reason. The Suns need to pay ATTENTION this year and not totally freak out because that player didn't work out for them. See: Leonard last year - I swear we could do a better job GM'ing than these yahoos. Lets do it by committee. Me, John, Tastic, and Frank :D We could all live comfortably splitting a GM's salary 4 ways I'm sure. I mean really, how many of you were yelling at the t.v. to take Leonard or Faried last year? I was punching the Tv yelling at them to take Ty Lawson in 2009. And I wanted DeAndre Jordan or McGee instead of Slowpez in 2008 (I still can't believe Jordan fell to the 2nd round). These aren't even picks in hindsight, this is what I was yelling for at the time. We could be rocking Lawson-2012pick/Redd-Leonard/Dudley-Frye-Gortat/Jordan instead of what we got going on now.

It's impossible to tell until draft night who will fall, but early indications are it's going to be Lamb this year. I still think his length + athleticism will tempt someone into picking him before #13. His motor has serious red flags though. With the front office being disappointed in Morris' motor I have a feeling there will be some frustration in the war room if Ross, Waiters, Rivers, and Lillard are gone and we're left with Lamb. Still, it's hard to gauge these things. There's always a chance simply being in the NBA will light a fire under his butt. Also his eyes are like Jim Breuer and Shawn Marion... he just naturally looks like he's stoned all the time. On the other hand, not knowing the answers to some seriously easy questions about the basketball team you're interviewing to play for is never good.

We need to do something, rivers and waiters are most likely gone at thirteen...that's why we contact joe dumars! They are looking for a big to play next to Greg Monroe right.? We offer either frye or gortat for their 8th pick...if they say no....we sweeten the deal by taking back cv or Ben Gordon . No way they turn that down! Then we either draft rivers or waiters! Then with our 13th pick we draft John Henson or Meyers Leonard ... Basically a decent big to replace gortat or frye. Then we might be able to buy Dallas's pick from them..and save them some cap space for this summer to land Williams or whoever else! Then we draft Marcus Teague! boom

Without Nash do you think gortat will take us anywhere ....??? No he won't !!! We need to start gaining assets because right now he have none besides gortat and Morris and Dudley ... If you wanna call them assets we..need a rebuild! You overvalue what we have...

Probably harbors resentment from when KJ flattened him. He chased KJ across the court to try and throw a punch.

In other words, "Please please take our established center and give us your mediocre draft choice so I can draft another project center because there might not be any of them projects left when I draft a few picks later." Exactly the panicky thinking that leads to poor decisions. And you criticize Sarver for the panicky moves he made after Amare left.

To be fair, if Nash leaves Gortat's value plummets. There is absolutely no reason to roster Gortat if you're in rebuild. He's more valuable to another team.

If Nash stays, you keep Gortat.

Not an absolute, if we get a Pg. who can run the pick and roll, and is a halfway decent passer he is still valuable. Hell If we get a go to Sf. or Sg. who can create thier own shot, and or put pressure on the defense it makes him valuable because it frees him up for cuts and board work. If we did get a guy like Dragic, Lin, or someone in that mold, Gortat still works.

Couldn't agree more. I doubt they'd be interested anymore considering Pekovic (spelling) is a good reliable center but last year I wanted that rumor of Gortat for the #2 and Pekovic to happen. NOW, I'd be happy if we could snag Williams by himself. Doubt it'd happen but like you said, if his value is still up there, we need ot cash in before Nash officially leaves. He's good but not "carry the franchise" good.

My point wasn't to not trade Gortat...just not for Henson or Leonard! Henson is going to get snapped in half in his first NBA game
