They have a hair over $23 million in space if they got rid of Lin and anyone they have to take back in the Asik trade. The only others under guaranteed contracts are Howard, Harden, Jones, Motiejunas and Canaan. They are going to have to take back $3 million + on the Asik trade though or it doesn't work, so that would only leave them around $20 million. But I imagine they plan on trying to trade anyone they get back and/or possibly Canaan, and maybe even Jones or Motiejunas if they have to.

I didn't count any rookies cap holds though so I don't know what those could be or any cap holds for Parsons or Daniels...not sure what those numbers are or if they have them.

So basically, as things stand now, they don't have enough if they just dump Lin. More will have to be done.

Thanks for the explanation! And good to know!

OT: I know it is kind of morbid, but how do you know when a poster has died? If he isn't a mod or personal friends with someone on the board, then they just die and stop posting. No one would know to acknowledge him and bid him an appropriate farewell, kinda like we do when a player leaves the Suns. Kinda sad, because I like you guys.

Funny how a sports teams create an automatic bond with people you have never met before.

Yeah I get what you mean - there's been a couple of Mods pass away since I've been on here, very sad.

You don't necessarily know them but you 'know them' through the bond as you say.

I'm mates with a few guys on here outside of RealGM - mainly the guys from the epic Suns trip in 2009 - but I use to live with a buddy in Toronto too (coldbyfletch, a Magic fan unfortunately).

Short answer is, we don't know... :(

yah it´s kinda cool to read some of the known guys from the get go, it´s kinda sad to hear people passing.
it´s cool how sports bring people from all around the world together..

damn i was too close that time to join the trip, but was that 2009??

Props to the great one

Them retweeting it is just hilarious. I am really interested to see how the Dragic situation gets addressed next year.

So with Bosh wanting 15-16 over a 5 year period, there's no way the big three can stay together, is there?

Not if LeBron insists on the max. But there have been two reports, one with Bosh wanting that number and another with him willing to accept a huge pay cut.

Goran plays alot like Manu Gino. That said, Manu is 37 years old and still going strong. Its not a stretch to believe that Goran is good for another 8-10 years.
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

If LeBron takes the max, Bosh 15 mil and Wade 11-12, they are around 10-12 mil under the cap. With attainable players slowly coming off the board, it's going to be really difficult for them to put a deeper team out there.

Riley's problem is, he can no longer tell free agents, "hey, take a pay cut to play with LeBron". Now it's, "Hey, take a paycut so you have a chance to play with LeBron....but if he doesn't re-sign, at least we got a good deal on you :)".

I wonder what he is expecting Bledsoe to get and what his thoughts will be on it.

I think if Bledsoe gets 13+ this offseason with us then Dragic is gone when he hits FA next year.

I just really am not seeing the possibilities for Miami. And in reality, sure Miami will probably pony up and give him his max deal. But we have to consider what they're actually offering him, a shallow team that will have not made the necessary improvements in order to beat the Spurs or any one else who claws out of the West. I'd be unimpressed if I were Lebron.

That's a little absurd for a guy who's started half a year and has injury problems.

Like I said, at most. I hope no one offers him this much and he gets somewhere around 11-12mil a year.

Me too, so that's kind of what I was wondering....if Dragic desperately wants to stay in Phx I was wondering if he hopes Bledsoe gets less, or if he thinks they will both stay no matter what, if he has any feelings about all of this. I'm sure he has as many thoughts about it as we do....I just wonder what they are.

Part of me wouldn't be shocked if we don't get LeBron and Love goes to GS if some deal out of nowhere comes up like a S&T to Sac for Thomas, Stauskas and a first round pick or something (I know there is no way this works with the cap too...they are over it and sending back no salaries). Not saying I think anything like that would happen, but nothing at all would shock me with McD.

That would just REALLY suck if we lost Dragic next year, even in a trade for Love. The good thing about him being a FA (with PO) is that he probably is less likely to be traded, particularly if he WANTS to stay. And why let him go for nothing in UFA?

Long way to go before next year. It depends upon our roster. We haven't signed Bled yet. I could see paying both of the 12 per

Ideal but not likely. I would love that but we'll see.
