Re: 2016 Draft Thread Part 4
Gambo mentioned that the Suns are interested in moving up for 13 to take Sabonis or Chriss or Bender if they drop. I'd be psyched if McDonough could pull that off, walking out with BOTH Chriss and Bender or one of them + Sabonis. Nice.

Knight like our starting PG?!
I am OK with him running PG some minutes coming from the bench, but not more than that.

Ibaka is gunna get exposed if featured here. He is barely a third option on a contender. Still an elite help defender, but his blocks numbers plummeted, OKC's perimeter D was porous and funneled opponents into the paint he had to contest everything

What if? Philly is trying to set Boston up o take Dunn because they knew they were **** and would try to strong-arm them for number #3, so they let it leaked they wanted Dunn and all the while the plan is Murray and trading Okafor for the number 4. Think about it, Dunn is ball dominant and having the ball in his hands in Simmons strength, which Murray would complement well. Right?

Knight as our PG would make me very sad. I'd rather have Ronnie Price run point than Knight.

I'm on board with you with the Okafor trade, for sure; I think he's better than anything that will be available for us at 4.
I much prefer Chriss's upside to Okafor's fat ass.
You'd prefer potentially the 4th best prospect in a weak class over the 3rd overall pick in a strong class--one that went for what, 10-11 dbl-dbls IN the NBA, and is still only 20? At least we know Okafor can play in this league, even if he has a weakness or two; we have no idea if/when Chriss will be good enough to play.
I'm a fan of Chriss @ 4, but mainly because this is a weak class. It's not that I don't get where you are coming from, but there is a lot of 'uncertainty' in Chriss that you do not have in Okafor.

i disagree. Hield and Booker is a defensive black hole. also, i don't think OKC would take Knight.....i don't think so. in fact, i don't know if we would give him up.

ridiculous. as a shot blocker alone, never mind his ability to stretch the floor and ability as a roll man, he's one of the best role players in the league. he could be more than that if we asked him to be.

Still an elite help defender, but his blocks numbers plummeted to career lows, Adams was a superior rim protector who stayed home and anchored. OKC's perimeter D was porous and there plan was to funnel opponents into the paint so Adams had to contest everything, whereas Ibaka held opponents to a lower FG% within but on less defensed attempts. When he stepped out he was less effective altering shots because he couldn't cheat over as much

intentionally a different strategy from OKC. Ibaka converted to a stretch 4, Adams became hustle man underneath the rim, Ibaka's role was no longer to block shots.
there's a quote somewhere, but i'm pretty sure it was on TV during the 2nd round

Hearing strong rumblings that Raptors GM Masai Ujiriin on Kentucky's Skal Labissiere at No. 9 if none of top 8 players in the draft fall.

I also think there's a chance ibaka is actually in his 30s. Would explain his apparent decline in athleticism the last year or so.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.
