Yeah, his shooting didn't look great against Texas when I saw him, but they applied a ton of defensive pressure on him and had Bamba in the middle. Are they going hard defensively at him?

Yeah, Trae's conference #s still dropping from what I noted here viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1584254&start=1420#p63285086

so probably close to under 40% in conference play now and 35% from 3. More assists and fewer turnovers than what he had been doing in conference, but still, his turnovers are a concern, especially if he was playing with Booker who is turnover prone.

Of course he is in a brutal conference and really the only good player on his team so it's tough to really judge. As I said after watching him a couple weekends ago, when he had a bad shooting game, I don't mind when he has a slump because I know he carries the team, and it's been fairly obvious he is an elite shooter, but this slump is a little longer than expected. I really wish he played on a team with more talent to see the difference it makes.

But, as oddity pointed out in his big board writeup, his best quality (or most overlooked) is his ability to get to the line and knock down his free throws.

Man he's such a tempting pick. Good shooter, great defender, good size to play both 4 and 5, and young for his class so in theory room to grow. By draft time I can see him being 2 or 3 on some boards.

Man he's such a tempting pick. Good shooter, great defender, good size to play both 4 and 5, and young for his class so in theory room to grow. By draft time I can see him being 2 or 3 on some boards.

He was third on mine, but my 2-5 is almost interchangeable. He basically seems like a more immediately ready Isaac type. If you can shoot and rim protect at that high of a level it's hard to go wrong.

If he measures legit 6'11 and 7'5 wingspan... I would bite the bullet if he's available assuming Ayton is out.

This will sound overrating JJJ... but I see a bit of Anthony Davis in him... Davis is slightly more athletic and a better dribbler, well given that he was a guard who grew tall to become a big man.
But again, the combine is where I will make my decision on him lol.

I think Suns will end up with Pick 4 or 5 again, so he will be an option at that slot.

I hope we can draft the most NBA ready players for once after a long time. Our two best players, Booker & Warren, were both NBA ready players and were productive in their first two seasons itself...I don’t think that’s a coincidence.

I'm surprised Trae Young is so low. I feel like it's so obvious he's on a bad team. Not to discredit the other player's talents, but I'm less worried about Young transitioning to the NBA than I am Bamba, Bagley, Jackson, and Porter.

You never know with rookies, but I think that Miles Bridges is gonna be the most NBA ready from this next draft.

He can play SF and PF, strong body like PJ Tucker or Draymond Green but more explosive.

I do not see too much difference between the top 10 prospects in the draft, not even Doncic is a sure thing IMO.

We need to remember that Sonny Weems played terrific basketball for CSKA, but he was useless in the NBA. Doncic is pretty good for his age, but he is slow for NBA's standards and he is gonna have problems defending faster players. Finishing at the rim is not gonna be an easy thing too.

He is really big for a PG/SG/SF, around 6'8 with shoes, offensively he is a great shooter and loves to have the ball in his hands. He reminds me of Turkoglu (the good one from the Magic), a lot of step back threes in his game.

He has been my choice if Ayton is off the board. Then pick Shai with the Miami pick, or trade up to get him. Fill two needs with this draft.

Except for the fact that he is 6'7" and only 230 going up against players who are 6'10" and 250 and is a primary paint scorer but heck why would we care about making it harder for players like Warren and Jackson to score? Now if you were talking Mikal Bridges he could replace Reed on the roster and offers being a 3 and d player but even then I think he is to redundant for this team with as many holes as we have in other spots.

I really wish jjj was a better rebounder. We really need a strong rebounder up front. He's there with bamba for me, I'd probably take jjj given his offensive potential over bamba.

Booker was the youngest player in that draft and didn't even start at Kentucky. He was viewed as a project coming out. Its a little unpredictable who is ready.

I would argue that only bamba of the top 7 guys is a super raw prospect. Doncic has been playing heavy minutes and dominating against men, he looks ready. Ayton will be physically ready from the first day he steps on the court. JJJs defense and shooting should be ready day 1. Porter by missing a year might need a little time but I've heard his offensive game is more polished than tatum was coming out. Youngs shooting should be NBA ready. And I think bagley will score and rebound well as a rookie. Its a good class.
