Suns- Anderson , porzingis
Rockets- Anthony , knight
Knicks- Gordon, Bledsoe, Bender, rockets 1st

Suns - get there Yount PF of the future, then have a bad cap hit with Anderson but giving up knight helps offset that

Rockets- Anderson , Gordon and a 1st for Anthony and knight that is a big up grade for them at the 4 with melo , then knight isn't Gordon but he can be a scorer off the bench

Knicks- go full restart, and get 2 borderline all star guards, a PF with a ton of potential and then a 1st.

Melo for Ryan Anderson/Ryan Kelly works in the trade machine. But if I am the Knicks - does

But I actually like my trade earlier - the second one where Kyrie and Tristan goes to the Knicks; Melo/Bled/Chandler to the Cavs and Love, O Quinn and Frye to the Suns better for the Knicks. I would even be okay giving the heat pick in 2018, protected for the lottery to the Knicks over a guy like TJ Warren Kyrie at least is worth his contract. With Melo, the Cavs have a secondary scorer to replace Irving but maybe Bledsoe plays better defense. Chandler and Thompson basically just rebound now anyway. And I like it better for the Suns except for the fact that Knight is not moved. But with Hardaway and lee - the Knicks do not need Knight so that really is not realistic

I think the Suns would have to give up the Heat pick in 2018 -- somewhat protected. And if I am paying a PF for three years 60m - I think I would prefer Love to Anderson actually. But if they get Porzingis - I could manage that :)

The Knicks would say no, and quickly. It just isn't enough for them to part ways with Kristaps even if they viewed Carmelo as hugely negative in value. If they are starting over the last thing they'd want is 2 highly injury prone, undersized, 28 year old guards. JMO.

Dang, three of the most ball dominant guys on one team. That'll be fun. Good luck Mike!

Except all three of them have played under Mike for the Olympic team. I think most people understand that D'Antoni is an offensive juggernaut as a coach. He will make things work for them no doubt.

If both teams make it of course, the Conference Finals of GSW and Houston will be who can keep the opponent under 120 - they will be scoring buckets!!

Got to say, I really like what OKC has done - I think they have passed up the Spurs at this point or have closed the gap and are a solid 4 - "on paper".

I dont oppose getting Love..

But Chandler and Bledsoe has to go.

You need star FAs on the team who can then chit chat with their other star friends to come to the suns.. Put the team on the map... Again.

Bender will play minutes fine... He is being groomed to be a point forward hybrid who rebounds and handles the ball all the way down.
Chriss can play center as he does sometimes.
Love will stretch the defense and make the outlet passes when required.

Kerrsed wrote:Im actually ok with trading for Love...at the right price.

I look at it like this, he was an all-star that we would have loved to have....when he was with the Wolves. His stats/stock to a big hit once he started playing next to Lebron (Which it was bound to do when playing next to two other allstars who are ball dominant). I think he would really improve his value on a sub-par team like ours.

Now my hopeful understanding for the trade is that we arnt looking at keeping him long term, just long enough to get his stats back. Like many, i dont see the Davis/Cousins experiment working, and i think that Love would be a great trade chip to use to send to 'Nawlins in a Cousins trade. With Love being a somewhat 3 point threat, he should be able to spread the floor for Davis a lot more. Think about Ryan Andersons time there, but add in better rebounding and a bit better defense.

Love shot 37% from 3, and Cousins shot 36%. Not much difference.

It will be interesting if the Rockets end up with Melo. I don't think D'Antoni was a big fan of him. The way that team is being built seems a bit opposite of the type of team D'Antoni would want. I guess he likes point guards, but Melo seems like a weird fit.

Hey I haven't been able to check in on free agency the past week and I can't find anything on Alan Williams. Does anyone know if he accepted the suns contract or if they are just in a standstill?

He has not, but he was in Vegas supporting his teammates.

I assume he has basically accepted it, but they are waiting to see if they need the space available now for any deals. He can always sign later. No word whatsoever on Len.

One of the weaknesses of the MDA Coached Suns team is that we were too dependent upon Nash making the big play big shot going down the stretch either via pass or shot. That is why so many wanted to keep Joe Johnson. He could have been that guy for us. It he can get them to play together, they apparently all like each other in Houston it could work.

Who do you double team at winning time Melo, Paul or Harden?

I do think if it happens - it will be Cleveland. But it seems that NY w/o a GM and Cleveland with a GM might make this harder. and like you said, not the best fit in Houston

I am okay with Love in the sense that they don't touch my "untouchables" - I think it would give a better second option with Booker. And if by some miracle the Knicks would take on Knight - that keeps the cap situation similar as though Love is more than Knight, they both roll off in three years.

Looks like Crawford to the Twolves - interesting move but a good solid one - dude can get hot and score it sometimes. Wonder what the Cavs are doing... the thought was he was going to Cleveland. Maybe working Melo angle again... :)

OK. Here is the trade and it works on the trade checker. NY would do it. Phoenix would do it. Cleveland might do it. They need to shake things up some. They might need a pick or something. Strike McD. Strike while both these teams are operating without a GM.

Knicks
Out: Carmelo Anthony
In: Kevin Love, Brandon Knight

Cleveland
Out: Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love
In: Eric Bledsoe, Carmelo Anthony (plus maybe 1st rounder from Suns and or 1st rounder from Knicks)

Suns:
Out: Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight
In: Kyrie Irving

Cavs would be super dumb if they trade Kyrie. The guy is clearly a 25ppg 7apg guard if as main guy

Fore me - flip Love and Kyrie and you have yourself a deal.

I just don't think Kyrie fits with Booker - he stops the ball. The Suns need a PG that moves that ball to Booker. Granted, I wouldn't turn it down but I actually think Love works better for the Suns

Looks like the Cavs don't want to give up Love in order to land Melo. Hoping he gets bought out. Only offering Cedi Osman and Oman Shumpert. Lol. Idk if this is true.
