If he's ever the same it will take years IMO...

I posted on the general forum saying that if its on the knee or near it that it tore ligaments... it could take atleast 2 years before he could even play competitive basketball... just like Shaun Livingston.
I dont think he would be an all-star for a while... maybe 3-4 years after recovery, he could play near his old self again.

If bone... then 1 year.... and thats assuming just clean bone break, no ligaments and cartilage tear/damage etc.

I'm praying its a bone break...

Polish soccer player Marcin Wasilewski suffered a similar injury and came back after 8 months.

From late April through July, Plumlee, Markieff and Marcus Morris, P.J. Tucker, Alex Len, Archie Goodwin, Shavlik Randolph, Ish Smith and Dionte Christmas were workout regulars. Smith and Christmas were waived in the past two weeks, but Suns rookies T.J. Warren and Tyler Ennis also became part of the group in preparation for July's summer league. They will be the first to return for more workouts in two weeks.

Poor Ish and Christmas.

Goran Dragic is training with his Slovenian national team for the FIBA World Cup. Gerald Green briefly passed through town. Eric Bledsoe, a restricted free agent, has not been back. Isaiah Thomas and Anthony Tolliver are additions who will join the voluntary workouts.

It looks like everyone has at least dropped by except Bledsoe.

FYI....From the Spurs board and seen elsewhere:

Sham says the max extension value would be 3y/43m. That's probably what Parket got. It would start at 13.4m. (assuming it's not a front-loaded deal).

2015-16: $13,437,500
2016-17: $14,445,312
2017-18: $15,453,124

Parker signs for $43.3 mil not $45 mil. That is less than $14.5 average- not even $15. Bledsoe won't get paid what Parker got paid. Time for both sides to get this deal done.

If its just his bone and there is no ligament damage then he could realistically play this season. Broken tib fib takes about 6-8 weeks to heal, then he'd have to get his strength back, that would be the longer part. But he could very realistically be back by feb if its just broken bones.

And I say this from experience. Breaking a bone is much more grusome looking AND more painful, but the recovery is much simpler than trying to piece and knee and its tendons back together.

Did you do it in a game as well?

Paul George suffered a compound fracture of both his right tibia and fibula, underwent surgery for two hours, and will be hospitalized for 2-3 days according to the Indy Star.
Multiple reports have indicated the surgery went well and that there was no additional damage on top of the broken bones. That said, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reported that he was likely out for the season, which isn't terribly surprising as most folks have been wondering how he'll look in the following season and not this upcoming one. Rodney Stuckey, C.J. Miles, Solomon Hill and C.J. Watson are all going to be called on to fill the void by George's potentially career-altering injury.

The Lakers don't have the cap space for him.

Pacers have no scoring options now.
I see them borderline playoffs now

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Pacers should blow it up and clear cap space for 2015.

Always hate seeing injuries like that, it's like u almost feel it happening.

There's good chances Paul George will be able to come back strong with the advancements in surgery. Djibril Cissé came back from this after 4 months :

I wonder if the Pacers will blow it up for this upcoming season, I wouldn't mind trying to get a veteran like David West. Give them Gerald Green back maybe. David West being a mentor for TJ Warren on the same team would be huge I think. It would really round out our starting lineup.

Bledsoe/Dragic/Tucker/West/Plumlee
Thomas/Archie/Warren/Kieff/Len

No, I was biking, but same principal. It was gruesome, gross and horribly painful. I can also confirm what others have said about how adrenaline and shock make you numb to it pretty quick... but that wears off, but hopefully not before the morphine kicks in.

I've broken my tib fib once... and I broke my femur/tib on a separate occasion. Femur pain is so bad that I was oblivious to the tib fracture. In the femur break I also hurt my knee, and thats why I know from expirience... The bones mended in about two months, the muscles were strong enough to feel somewhat normal (not play in an NBA game but walk around without discomfort) about a month later, while the knee took forever.

The way they played for the last half of last season, they were barely a playoff team and that was with Stephenson and Paul George. Without the both of them, they are easily a lotto team. they dont really have anything else on the floor, especially if Hibbert is mentally broken.

West/Hill/Hibbert are their only real quality players left. Scola/Watson and what else? Copeland/Stuckey? the rest of that roster is not good (to put it lightly). even in the east that is bad.

right now, if PG doesnt come back, i see them bottom 5 at best in the east.

Cleveland/Miami/Chicago/Toronto/Washington/Charlotte/Atlanta are all EASILY better. I see NY/Orlando/Boston are also better. Detroit could improve as well.

I can see them in the ranks of Philly/Milwaukee/Brooklyn when its all said and done.

And soccer is extreme conditioning.. with anywhere between 6-8 miles worth of running in a given match!

Hoping for the best with PG

90+ minutes without stops, easily in a NBA game you play more minutes of "pure" sport.
To play NBA basketball you have to be a freak athlete or a natural specimen at least...to play soccer you need to have a good conditioning and skills, but you can be a normal young man and be a great soccer player. It is not even close, NBA players are way better athletes than soccer players....just my opinion.
