I think I would cry--and no, not 'tears of joy'. Didn't Murray go like 0 for 8 to start one of the NIT games?? He's an abysmal shooter, and we just fired our best 'shooting' coach in Hornacek.

I mean, it's laughable that DX lists him as a PG/SG prospect; what SGs have ever been selected in the lottery with a 29% 3PT%, 41.6% FG%, a 66% FT%, a .49 TS% and a .45 eFG%?

And as a PG, a 5.3/40 Asst Ratio, 3.9/40 TOs, a 1.38 A/TO ratio, and a -.85 PPR.

But hey, he can rebound!! Maybe he gets all his 'bricks' from 3 that bounce off the rim right back to him!!

Call me crazy, but when a PG has a higher Rebound Rate than Asst Rate, that's not usually a good thing.

Oooh...maybe he gets all the Rebounds that Chriss' doesn't get!!! :banghead:

After a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE season that's our reward.

No after a Horrible Horrible season our reward to put a young team out there next year and get a top flight player in next years draft this year is to get some of the pieces to build around Booker and them.
Just say no to idiots!!

Thats pure fantasy unless we blow it up. Bledsoe is the promotional poster boy, he will take every other game off but still keep us on the outside looking in with a sub .500 record that isn't quite bad enough to come out with a crown jewel. Now if we still had that Laker's pick, its a sunk cost

Murray will be a good player. Down the road. He's simply not ready. 170 Lbs. Dripping wet. 2-3 years away.

McDonough is the most secretive GM I have ever seen work for the Suns. There is all this talk about Chriss, Bender, and whoever else, yet no one really knows what will happen. Even with everything Gambo has reported, anything can happen in the draft.

i really hope we don't get too drastic tonight. i'd rather not lose one of our 3 best players (Bledsoe, Knight, Booker) than trade one to get a star. i like the roster we have. if it costs an arm and a leg for Hayward or Butler, it'll just set us back.

Gambo has said it a ton, Booker is now 6'7. Doug also mentioned putting Booker at the SF. If Booker grows to be 7'0 are you still going to play him at SG because he was drafted at that? I can't understand why it is so hard for people to understand that the NBA is position-less.

If you trade Knight and the #13 for Okafor or sign Barnes.

Bledsoe
Hield
Booker
Okafor or Barnes
Chandler

To hell with defense for the whiners, I am saying stop us mutha effas! We would rape teams offensively.

How many times are you going to post this lineup?
This is like the 10th time. Expecting people to finally say "Yes, I see it now....Hield and Barnes and we are going places!"

The same amount of times you have told us how great Bender is. So I have what, about thousand left?
Btw, the last thing I will EVER try to do is change people's mind on the internet. I like looking at my lineup in print.

This is the draft thread. Barnes is not in the draft. You can discuss him in the free agency thread.

JMac1 wrote:Quick someone, who is our most prized player and how much defense does he play? SMH.... This "he has to play defense" mantra is tired and old. No to Okafor because he plays no defense, well if he did, he'd be Tim Duncan and untradeable.

I think what they are trying to get at is that if this team doesn't start drafting guys who at least have solid defensive potential, then this teams hopes of ever bringing a title to PHX are extremely slim to none. And wouldn't I be right in saying that just about any real suns fan desires to see a title come PHX some time within our lifetime? Also we can see what the run and gun high flying offense with little to no D did for us in the Dantoni years. We got to the playoffs certainly, we even got to the western conferencefinals finals. But Never the finals. On the flip side you've got a team in the Spurs who have been the model NBA franchise over the last decade and a half. And what's the thing they always do well, year in and year out. It's something that's always associated with them..... Good Defense!!! Aaaaaand with that they have 5 Titles. History has kinda shown that a team that plays good defense is alot more likely to win a title than one that doesn't. And thats what I think some fan on here are trying to say. Since we're already in the midst of reshaping our roster anyways, let's try and get guys who either are good defenders or at least have that potential in them. So hopefully we can become a team over time that has players with the abilities in turn giving us the chance develop into least a decent defensive team. And if that happens and we have a potent offense to boot, then we become a truly complete team that has a good shot a being a title contender.

That would be fantastic, hopefully we have a big surprise.

But it's really difficult to hide your selection when you draft that high...at #13 or #28 it's more easy to mask your favorite prospect, but at #4 (actually #2 because Simmons and Ingram don't count) it's difficult.

Jah has at least as much if not more defense potential as any of our draftees. Does anybody believe Len is gunna be a DPOY candidate, he is barely average. We are just hoping Booker/Warren become less liabilities and get more than they give up on the other end

Perfect fit, big time player. Get it done McDonough!

I used to think he was the perfect fit, but have you noticed how much his #s have declined over the past 3 years? Look at 3 years ago and each year since then, particularly at blocks, fg% and 3pt%. They are all considerable, declines, in blocks EACH year and a big dropoff in 3pt fg% this year. They are probably shopping him for a reason.

Having said all that, I'd still take him over any of the potential free agents out there we could get.

I'm expecting us to walk away with the 3rd pick, the 4th pick, Jimmy Butler, Nerlens and Furkan. I will accept nothing less.
