Guessing this explains why he wasn't in the pic in San Diego maybe.
I feel like we really dropped the ball on this one.
That's way cheap.

It's too bad we didn't retain Mirza. That's an affordable deal and he'll be worth it for all three.

This can only mean that we've been targeting someone else.

Good for the Bucks. :(

It is amazing that it is over 15 hours into free agency and nothing has been mentioned about the Suns. Just one Stein tweet from last night that listed the Suns among some teams interested in Dudley. I know McDonough operates under the radar but this is secrecy to a whole other level. There has been been multiple reports on virtually every team except the Suns. Even the local beat writers have not reported anything. Pretty crazy how tight they keep information within the organization these days.

We didn't offer Mirza more than 10M? That's interesting.

McD said he just wants one FA - a vet PF who could start for a year or 2, and then be okay with a bench role a few years down the road. So, that's why we probably haven't heard much, because he isn't doing much.

I'm guessing we didn't want to commit to the 3rd year but even still, 10mil per is very tradable.

Perhaps David West then?

I'm still on the David Lee/Amare train. I think either of those guys would be a great option.

Not to mention that Dudley makes zero sense with Tucker coming back. They fill the same role essentially. An undersized PF that can hit the corner 3 and provide some defense at times but no longer at an elite level. Dudley is looking for way more than the $5M that Tucker makes though.

BW: "I know this isn't isn't a great deal, so I will be willing to accept whatever you offer."

Difference between rape and romance is presentation.

I thought we'd get a first for Kieff on that killer deal.

PFs have much more value than short combo guards. Especially when they make a little more than half as much. We may end up being better served to keep him if he can figure out how to contribute to team ball. Picks are WAY more valuable now than they were a year ago, now that people see how much more value rookie contracts hold, and will especially hold next year. We MIGHT be able to get a late first for him at some point. Sacramento might want him but has nothing worthwhile to offer unless you want McLemore (which I'd consider).

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Knight isn't being traded. Mc'D will ride that horse into the ground. Knight is not a bad player, just selfish. If he grows up a little, I'd be more inclined to keep him. Bledsoe, Booker, Knight, and Len are the best players on our team as of now. I can't wait to see Bledsoe, Knight, and Booker starting at the 1-3 on opening Knight

Barring injury, I'd bet you a cold beer Book is our 6th man, to start the season.

If you put aside what Knight cost, and how he got here.... and believe he can stop the annoying over dribble chuck-osity... and buy into whatever the Mentalist Watson has in store for this squad, and actually play a little D and keep himself off the Shaq-in a fool list...then hey... he's not a bad pg/sg to have on the roster. I'm not sure many here had an idea as to what salaries were going to look like in the new NBA, but for what he is and what he cost, we could do much worse. Giddeeup

Rape and romance ??? wow... thats a dandy

14M/yr contract for a 20/5/4 24 year old guard... hmmm..

The only thing I hate about people throwing out the 20/5/4 is that I don't like 20 points coming at the cost of a 41.5 fg% and the 5 assists coming at the cost of 3.4 turnovers.

that's fine, so long as we do the same thing when we refer to Wade as a 20/5/5 player last season, or refer to the raw ppg stats of Oladipo or John Wall or reggie jackson or goran dragic or MCW or any number of scoring guards whose TS% was the same as Knight's.

and furthermore i agree that a 1.5 AST/TO ratio is not good enough. if you take out Knight's stats and look at our ballhandling guards (bledsoe booker price and goodwin) our team's AST/TO ratio last season was... 1.5. 1.5 AST/TO. not sure why a nicked up Knight-- playing primarily off ball for the first time in his career-- is taking all the heat for his career worst AST/TO ratio...

Those guys are centers now - and unreliable ones, at that. We need a *starting* *PF*. If the guy can't play, he obviously can't start. And if he's a center, he's not a PF. So no, they don't fit what we need.

That doesn't make sense though because if we offered him 30mil for two years let's say I think he'd take it so he can maybe get one more contract in later. I just don't think we offered him anything.
